Chapter 7: New friend
[Time skip - Four years and four months]
'Alright, it's been more than four years since I've arrived to this world. And I've been trying to awaken Aura every single night, but I haven't made much progress.'
'I can only feel the Aura of weak beings, and detect the emotions of the people close to me. I also learned that my Aura is connected to my willpower.'
'And even though I haven't even learned how to use basic Aura, I'm starting to feel something every time I meditate. But each time I try to discover what is it, the feeling vanishes.'
'Now, during this time, I spoke my first word, learned to walk again and to speak again.'
'But there is something curious that happened to me just yesterday. In one of my usual night trips, I decided to go to the forest near Pallet Town, I knew it was way too dangerous, but I wanted to test something. However, I saw something, or rather, someone. Apparently, there is a group of Kangaskhan living in said forest, and I remembered that Ash's Pikachu also lived with a group of Kangaskhan, so I assumed that this was that group.'
'Because of that, I decided to check if Pikachu, now Pichu, was living with them, or not yet. He is not. So I can assume that my Pikachu will start to live with the Kangaskhan in a year or two.'
'That was something interesting, so since then I've been checking on them.'

[The next day]
"Good morning Red!"
Delia woke up his son.
"Mmmmmmmmmmmm....." Red didn't want to wake up.
"Come on you little Slakoth, it's time to wake up!"
Delia then grabbed Red and took him out of his bed.
"One more minuteeeeeeeeeeeeee!" Red tried to fight, but Delia was already dragging him to the living room.
"Alright Red, what do you want to do today?" Delia asked him.
Red thought for a second.
"Can we go to the park?" he asked.
"Sure! We can go to the park today!" she said.
Red was extremely excited to go to the park, but not for the reasons her mother thought.
'Perfect, if my plan is going smoothly, and if there isn't any casualty, Blue should be in the park at 10:30 am, and now is 10:00 am. If we go to the park right now, we should arrive at 10:15 am. Blue is an important part of the original game, so after meeting him, I need to find a way to befriend him. I don't want to affect the timeline that much' he thought.
"Yay!" he jumped.
"Okay Red, but to go to the park you'll first need to pack a water bottle, a change of clothes, and put on sunscreen. Do you understand?"
"Yes mom!" he replied.
"Good, now go and do it while I prepare myself."
"Okay!"
[Five minutes later]
"Mooooom! I am ready!" Red shouted from his bedroom.
"Okay Red, now come here so we can go!" Delia told him.
Then Red quickly went down the stairs.
"Red, don't run down the stairs, it is dangerous."
"Okay..."
"Alright, don't get sad, we are going."
"Yay! We are going to the park!"
So they went to the park.
When they arrived, Red inmediately started running and talking with some kids.
"Red! Don't run too far!" Delia shouted.
"Yes mom!" Red shouted back.
After talking with some boys, Red sat in a bench and started drawing.
His drawings included some of the box legendaries, Ho-oh, Kyogre, Reshiram, Xerneas, Zamazenta, Dialga, and he also drawed some Mythical Pokemon like Mew, Celeby and even Arceus. Down those drawings, were the Pokedex entries. He did that so he couldn't forget those pieces of information, and he had done this for some time.
He was so concentrated on his drawings, that he didn't notice a girl approaching him.
"Hey, what are you drawing?"
Red took his eyes off his drawings and looked at the girl. She had brown eyes and slightly messy dark brown hair that flowed down to her lower back, and wore a green skirt.
'You have to be fuc#$%& kidding me' he thought.
"My name is Green, what is your name?"
"Red, Red Ketchum."
Then she asked.
"Well hi Red, can I see your drawings?"
That is when Red started to panic. He couldn't just show his drawings, they contained legendary Pokemon, after all.
However, he got an idea.
"Sure" he said, trying to keep his composure.
While he said that, he sneakily grabbed a drawing from his backpack, and gave it to Green. It was a Pikachu.
"Wow! This is so beautiful!" she said.
"Well, thanks."
'Phew, that was close' he thought.
"Can you teach me how to draw as good as you?" she asked.
"I don't see why not" he responded.
So they both talked and drawed for several minutes, and Red didn't even realize how much time had passed.
"Red!"
Suddenly, he heard a familiar voice.
"Red, it's time to go home!"
It was his mother, calling him.
That is when he realized that several hours had passed without him even noticing.
"Is that your mom?" Green asked.
"Yeah, I guess it's time for me to go" he said.
"Oh, can't you ask her if you can stay more time here? I had so much fun playing with you."
"I will try."
Red then ran to her mother.
"Alright Red, it's time to go home."
"Mom, can you give me just five more minutes, pleeeease?"
"No Red, we need to go home so we can have lunch" Delia replied.
Seeing that his mother did not accept, he decided to use one of the many heavy weapons he had.
"Pleeeeeease mom, just five minutes" he said while putting on the cutest face possible.
Delia tried to remain firm, but she couldn't withstand so much tenderness from her son.
"Alright, just five minutes" she finally said.
"Yay! Thanks mom!" he said while hugging her.
Then Red ran back to Green.
"Good news Green, mom gave me five more minutes!"
"Okay, then let's play while we can!" she said excitedly.
---------------------
[Delia's POV]
Delia was witting on a bench, watching her young son play with a little girl around his own age.
They were drawing, talking, and running together.
'He is just like his father' she thought.
She then checked her watch, and noticed that it was 1:00 pm.
"Red!" she called her son.
Seeing that he didn't answer, she decided to call him again.
"Red, it's time to go home!"
Red finally heard her, and then ran towards her.
"Alright Red, it's time to go home" she told him.
"Mom, can you give me just five more minutes, pleeeease?" her son asked.
Apparently, her son really wanted to play with his new friend for more time.
"No Red, we need to go home so we can have lunch" Delia replied.
"Pleeeeeease mom, just five minutes" he begged.
As he said that, Delia saw her son make the cutest face possible, and she couldn't withstand it.
"Alright, just five minutes" she finally said.
"Yay! Thanks mom!" he said while hugging her.
Then he ran back to her friend, and they started playing.
"Tag! You're it!" Delia heard the girl say to her son.
"Not if I can catch you!" he replied.
They ran and tried to catch each other for some time, until suddenly Delia felt a hand on her shoulder.
"Hi Delia."
Delia heard a familiar voice.
"Professor Oak! I didn't know you were here!" she said.
"Well, I wasn't going to come, but my grandson wanted to play here in the park, and his both of his parents were busy, so I decided to bring him myself. And it seems that you also decided to bring your son here."
"Yes, he told me he wanted to come, so I decided to take him here to the park."
"I see, and apparently little Red has already made a friend."
"Yeah, it is good to see him having fun. But soon it will be time for him to start school."
"Yes, that is right. I wonder what he wants to be when he grows up, Blue has already made it clear that he wants to be a Pokemon trainer, and not a professor like his old grandpa."
Delia smiled.
"Well, only time will tell."
--------------------
[Red's POV]
"Tag! You're it!" Green said.
"Not if I can catch you!" he replied.
Green tried to escape Red, but what she didn't know is that Red had trained himself like hell. And he was really fast.
"Got'cha!" he said, touching her.
"Tag!"
Then he ran away as fast as his little legs allowed him.
"Nooooo! It's not fair, you are too fast!" Green grumbled.
She tried to catch him, but Red was nowhere to be seen.
"Red! Where are you?" she tried to find him.
Suddenly, she heard the tree above her start to creak.
"Whoa!"
*Thud!*
Red fell on top of her.
"Hahaha! Sorry!" he apologized.
"Red...." she said menacingly.
"W-what...?" he asked. He wasn't scared, but he pretended to.
Then Green slowly started to approach him.
"Red....."
"Y-yes?"
"Tag! You're it!" Green suddenly said.
"Hey, that is cheating!"
Then Red started to chase her, and since he was five times faster than her, it was easy.
"Tag!" he said, once he reached her.
"Hey, huff, Red, puff, can, haaaa, you, give me a break?" she asked while catching her breath.
"Alright, alright" he accepted.
Then he heard his mother's voice.
"Red, we are leaving, now say goodbye to your friend!"
"Ahhh man, come on. Alright Green, I think this is a goodbye" he said.
"Goodbye Red, can you come to play tomorrow?" she asked.
"I don't think that mom will let me..."
"Oh that is a pity, but we can see each other another day, right?"
"Yeah, until next time Green!"
"Goodbye Red!"
Then Red ran towards his mother.
"Mom! I made a new friend!" he told his mother excitedly.
"And what was her name?" she asked him.
"She said her name was Green!" he answered.
"Green huh," Professor Oak said. "I think I remember her."
"Oh hi Professor!" Red greeted him.
"From where do you remember her Professor?" Delia asked.
"Well, she is going to be one of my students."
"Really?" Delia asked.
"So that means I will be studying with her?!" Red asked.
'That could be an advantage, although I haven't met Blue yet, meeting Green was also a very good thing. And studying with her could strengthen our friendship, which could be helpful.'
"Yes Red, you will be studying with her." Oak said.
"Yay!"
'Alright, now the real fun will begin.'
