Pokémon: The Cheating Life

Chapter 1: Chapter 1: Traveling Through, Goldfinger

**Chapter 1: Traveling Through Goldfinger**

The first rays of sunlight filtered through the vast forest, casting dappled light on the grass below. At the same moment, this brilliant light illuminated the face of a little boy lying on the ground. He rubbed his eyes and stretched, suddenly aware that his clothes felt loose. Unable to contain himself, he sat up.

As he opened his eyes, he gazed at a lush forest surrounding him. Looking down at his hands and feet, Luo Yangshuo's mouth twitched, and he shouted, "What is going on?!"

His voice echoed through the woods, startling a flock of birds that flapped their wings and soared into the sky. Watching the birds, Luo Yangshuo stroked his chin and pondered, "Pidgey? Am I in the world of Pokémon?"

"Ding! The host is in a stable mood. Let me explain the system," an electronic voice chimed in, reminiscent of Hatsune Miku. Just as Luo Yangshuo was daydreaming, the voice continued.

"Ding! The purpose of this system is to assist the host in becoming the world's number one Pokémon Master. By completing tasks provided by the system, the host can earn rewards and enhance their strength. Additionally, each subsystem is now accessible. The host can go check them out, and this system will explain everything."

With that, a virtual screen appeared before him. The system voice prompted, "This screen can only be seen by the host. Slide your hand in the air to view it."

Luo Yangshuo combined the information in his mind with what he could see and deduced a few key points: First, he had seemingly traveled to the Pokémon world. Second, he had become younger, though he couldn't tell what he looked like without a mirror. Finally, he possessed the advantage of time travel, along with a seemingly incredible system.

However, Luo Yangshuo was a person who took things as they came; he didn't cry or scream. While he felt a little reluctant to leave his parents on Earth, he had no idea how to return. Therefore, he resolved to take it one step at a time. The sliding interface was quite advanced, displaying several items: character status, Pokémon status, mall, lottery, tasks, recharge, and cheats.

Luo Yangshuo took a quick look and, without checking his character status, immediately opened the cheats section for a closer examination. He couldn't help but exclaim, "Why are there so few cheats?"

"Ding! Due to world rules, not all cheats can be accessed. The host can collect popularity points to unlock more cheats and may also discover new ones," the system clarified.

"How do I earn popularity points?" Luo Yangshuo inquired.

"Simple: be famous!" came the blunt response.

Currently, the available cheats included gender change (which seemed unnecessary), double movement speed, an enemy HP display, and a vending machine that guarantees a win. When he asked the system whether activating the cheats would have any negative effects, he was reassured that there would be none. He enabled all the cheats except for the gender change.

Next, he checked the character section. By clicking on it, a three-dimensional model of himself appeared, resembling his childhood self. As he clicked through, rows of information emerged:

**Character: Ronaldinho (Luo Yangshuo)**

**Gender: Male**

**Age: 13**

**Height: 160 cm**

**Weight: 45 kg**

**Strength: 8**

**Stamina: 9**

**Intelligence: 10**

**Spirit: 10**

(Note: The normal attributes for adults in this world are generally around 10.)

Luo Yangshuo suddenly felt as if he were watching a low-budget game. Just then, the system prompted, "Host, you have an initial character gift pack to claim."

Grateful for the system's thoughtfulness, Luo Yangshuo clicked on the gift bag on the screen, and several items appeared before him: three sets of identical pure black clothes, a backpack, and an ID card. Eagerly, he changed into a new outfit and inspected the backpack. It contained useful items, including a tent, a sleeping bag, three one-piece pajamas, an electronic navigation map, five Poké Balls, a set of kitchen utensils, and some currency from this world.

Upon examining the ID card, he noticed it was completely white. At that moment, the system prompted again, "The host can freely choose his birthplace. The system will automatically register the host with the local household. However, the host must consider this carefully; once the region is selected, the host can only pick one of the three local starter Pokémon as the initial Pokémon, and it cannot be changed."

Luo Yangshuo was immediately bewildered: which one should he choose? Knowing he could obtain one of the three local starter Pokémon, he focused on two options: Charizard and Greninja. Without a doubt, the strengths of these two Pokémon—Charizard's Mega Evolution and Greninja's Bond Evolution—were incredibly appealing to him.

After thinking for a while, Luo Yangshuo asked, "System, where am I right now?"

"The host is currently in the Viridian Forest, located in Viridian City, Kanto."

Luo Yangshuo nodded and replied, "I'll choose the Kanto region, and my initial Pokémon will be Charmander."

"Understood. Information input: Ronaldinho (Luo Yangshuo) was born in Pallet Town, where both of his parents died. He has lived on his own since childhood, often receiving support from Professor Oak. He received the initial Pokémon, Charmander, from Professor Oak. Information input completed."

The system's voice echoed in his mind, and Ronaldinho felt a rush of new memories. He was now fully integrated into this world. The corresponding information was displayed on his identity certificate. At the same time, he discovered a Pokédex and a Pokéball in his backpack.

"Ding! You have received the Pokédex, triggering the side quest: Collect Pokémon. Successfully enter the information of the remaining 146 Pokémon (excluding the 5 from the Kanto region) into the Pokédex. Reward: 10,000 diamonds, a set of evolution stones, 1 million Poké Dollars, and two cheat permissions. If you collect information about the legendary Pokémon, you will receive extra rewards."

This was a pleasant surprise. Ronaldinho opened the Pokéball, and a sturdy little Charmander appeared in front of him. Upon seeing Ronaldinho, the Charmander narrowed its eyes and smiled. Ronaldinho compared their heights; this little Charmander was 80cm tall, much taller than the average Charmander, which is typically 60cm.

He patted Charmander's head and said, "Hello, Charmander. I will be your trainer from now on. You can call me Ronaldinho."

The little fire dragon nodded, raised its claws, and made a gesture of strength to show its power. Ronaldinho also opened Charmander's information to take a look.

Pokémon: Charmander

Level: 5

Gender: Male

Height: 80cm

Weight: 10kg

Ability: Blaze

Skills: Dragon Rush (Inherited), Scratch, Driwl

It had pretty good attributes, and the inherited skill was the Dragon Rush, the dragon's ultimate move. Then, he opened the mall, which featured a variety of items, most of which were evolution stones, props, tree fruits, and other items that Pokémon needed. There were also some character skills available, such as driving, cooking, and attribute points, but all of them cost Poké Dollars and diamonds to purchase. The source of Poké Dollars was to defeat trainers and wild Pokémon; it was just a matter of quantity. As for diamonds, they could only be acquired through monetary recharge.

Clicking on the recharge system, Ronaldinho was speechless. The minimum recharge amount was 10,000 Poké Dollars, which was equivalent to 10 diamonds. Looking at the 2,000 Poké Dollars given to him by the system, he decided to move on without dwelling on that.

After opening the lottery system, the system kindly offered him a chance to draw a lottery with ten consecutive draws. Ronaldinho rubbed his hands together, feeling hopeful, but soon... he was left without any expectations due to his consistent bad luck.

"Ding! Congratulations on winning a portion of Pokémon food!

"Ding! Congratulations on successfully completing ten consecutive draws. You have obtained five portions of Pokémon food, one Fire Stone, two portions of Wound Medicine, one portion of Antidote, and one Pokémon, Eevee."

As expected, I didn't have much luck. I had hoped to get a Pokémon after ten consecutive draws, but instead, it turned out to be a guaranteed prize.

The other items are only slightly more valuable, like the Fire Stone. What bad luck!
