-----------------
Mega Evolution—this mysterious form of evolution is still a little-known phenomenon across the world. Only recently has it begun to surface in the distant Kalos region, where a few Trainers have started to harness its power.
However, such a powerful force as Mega Evolution was already known to those standing at the pinnacle of the Pokémon world—top-tier Trainers and elite factions—who had long been researching it in secret and had even achieved certain breakthroughs.
Of course, no wall in the world is completely airtight.
With Professor Sycamore in the Kalos region making a major breakthrough in the field of Pokémon Mega Evolution and publishing his findings, coupled with a mysterious organization in Kalos secretly pushing the spread of information, the power of Mega Evolution has gradually become more widely known.
Team Rocket, the strongest dark organization in Kanto, was ranked among the top global powers. Naturally, the Team Rocket executives were already aware of this new power known as Mega Evolution.
Ranka was a fortunate individual. Born into a large aristocratic family—though slightly fallen from grace—he still lived a life free of worry.
As the youngest son in a family without daughters, his mother, who had always wanted a girl, raised Ranka as one. It was largely due to her influence that he developed a woman's heart.
His mother was a noble heiress from the Kalos region. The Key Stone and Mega Stone in his possession were actually part of her dowry—passed down to him personally.
As for the secret of Mega Evolution, Ranka only discovered it after joining Team Rocket. It was precisely thanks to his noble heritage and access to Mega Evolution that he was favored and recruited by Athena as one of her core subordinates.
Although Aggron wasn't Ranka's first Pokémon, it was one that he had raised personally from an egg since he was little.
Though the two often argued over trivial matters, the bond between them was undeniably strong.
Through this powerful bond, Ranka successfully triggered the Mega Evolution energy linking the Key Stone and Aggron's Mega Stone.
Bathed in a radiant and immense surge of Mega Evolution energy, Aggron began transforming into a new form.
"Stop him—Swampert, Raging Earth!"
(Note: Changed this combo name to Raging Earth: a combo move of Earthquake + Earth Power)
"Bellossom, maximum-powered Energy Ball!"
"Gyarados, Hydro Pump!"
"Golduck, use Disable to stop Zweilous's Dragon Rage!"
"Ariados, set up with Swords Dance and Focus Energy, then attack Zweilous with Pin Missile!"
"Ursaring, Arcanine, Heracross—protect me!"
Seeing Ranka activate the Key Stone and Mega Stone to trigger Aggron's Mega Evolution, Sato immediately commanded his Pokémon to interfere.
At his command, Swampert slammed its fists into the ground, expertly manipulating massive amounts of Ground-type energy with its master control, causing the earth to quake and resonate.
The ground beneath Aggron erupted with intense vibrations and split open, releasing dozens of yellowish energy beams that struck the Protect shields generated by Victreebel and Houndoom.
Bellossom's Energy Ball followed from the right—glowing with a terrifying aura of power—and slammed into the same shield.
Then came Gyarados's Hydro Pump, surging from the left like a high-pressure cannon.
Meanwhile, under the protection of Ursaring, Arcanine, and Heracross, Sato easily evaded attacks from Zweilous and Yanmega.
Following his orders, Golduck used its psychic powers to levitate into the air and cast Disable on the raging Zweilous.
(Note: Disable is a Normal-type status move that prevents the target from using certain moves for a set period.)
A black sigil appeared over Zweilous, and the two-headed dragon—previously firing Dragon Rage like a turret—immediately sputtered to a stop. No matter how hard it tried, it could no longer unleash the move.
At the same time, Ariados successfully completed a Swords Dance and began preparing Focus Energy.
Facing the combined assault of Swampert, Gyarados, and Bellossom—three powerful Pokémon—Victreebel and Houndoom's Protect shields began to fracture under the strain. Cracks spread rapidly across the barrier; it was on the verge of collapse.
"Hold the line! Victreebel, Leaf Storm! Houndoom, Overheat!"
Knowing he couldn't allow any external force to interfere with Aggron's Mega Evolution, Ranka had no time for hesitation. He decisively sacrificed both Victreebel and Houndoom to buy the time Aggron needed.
Both Pokémon had been carefully selected from many wild Pokémon he'd defeated—high-level and possessing powerful STAB moves.
Having suffered a humiliating loss to Aggron in the past, they didn't dare defy Ranka's orders again.
Immediately, both Pokémon unleashed their power. On the left, Victreebel cast Leaf Storm to clash with Gyarados's Hydro Pump. On the right, Houndoom released explosive black flames of Overheat, overwhelming Bellossom's Energy Ball thanks to type advantage.
For a moment, countless glowing leaves blocked Gyarados's attack, while the scorching flames crushed Bellossom's.
But the moment they released their ultimate moves, both Pokémon could no longer maintain the protective shield. The already-ruptured barrier finally shattered under Swampert's Raging Earth combo move.
In the blink of an eye, both Victreebel and Houndoom were engulfed by a torrent of earth energy. They barely had time to scream before collapsing to the ground, their fate uncertain.
Even so, they had completed their mission—buying Aggron enough time to fully Mega Evolve.
The instant the transformation was complete, an overwhelming pulse of Mega energy surged outward. A massive shockwave followed.
Before Sato and the others now stood an even larger steel beast—one similar to Aggron's previous form but far more imposing.
Bathed in Mega Evolution energy, a gigantic multi-colored spiral symbol appeared in front of it.
At that moment, Mega Aggron seemed utterly invincible. Even Swampert's devastating combo attack couldn't penetrate the swirling rainbow-colored energy shroud surrounding it.
"ROAARRR!!"
With the spiral finally dissipating, Mega Aggron opened its piercing blue eyes and let out a roar that shook the battlefield.
At once, a dreadful aura burst forth from its towering body. The oppressive force bearing down on the battlefield was suffocating—every creature present felt it pressing heavily on their chests.
"So he completed it after all... Mega Aggron, huh? Let's see just how strong you really are."
Sitting tall on Arcanine's back, Sato stared solemnly at the fearsome steel titan ahead.
