Chapter 4: Chapter 4: Choices
Some may say you need Worthy Opponents, or you get bored with too much power. No, I don't. I'm perfectly fine just using my powers to do whatever I want. There is also a drawback for making a villain tailor made just for you, like Lex Luthor for Superman or Joker for Batman, but Screw having an opponent tailor-made to fight me, I don't want that… no sir. S9 is hiring. Hmm….on one hand, the S9 will be coming for me thus negating the need to find them myself. On the other hand, S9 are coming for me and will be targeting those around me like friends that I make, destroying anything that I like and really making my day a big downer.
Fuck it. No thanks, Now what's left. Everything else are for Endbringers and Reincarnation. There are however Golden Morning and the Cycle Begins.…..But No. I do not want Scion on my ass the moment he sees me nor do I want to go up against three entities unless I'm ready. So...no, hard pass on the drawbacks even with the points, the extra powers I can make them myself, I just have to be smart about it.
It was time to choose my perks and powers, and maybe companions if I had some points left. Now according to thing, any power I choose will not come from the shards that every parahuman have that's the source of their powers. I won't be subjected to the limits that the shards have such as the Manton Effect or entity blankout.
Good, I guess. Any power I choose will grow over time in response to stress and conflict unlike shard powers which don't really grow in power, any power increase in shard-based powers would either be finding out new ways to use them or getting a second trigger. I had nine different powers sets available to me. Three of them were just overpowered versions of the Triumvirate, the three strongest heroes in the setting.
One would basically make me the Emperor of Man in his prime. The other five were Kaleidoscope which basically make me Zelretch Plus, inspired tinker which could let me theoretically invent virtually anything given enough time, psychokinetic which gave me immense raw psychic power and all the -kinetics, Shaper which would make me Alex Mercer, Nilbog, Kerrigan, Panacea and other biological manipulators combined together and upped to eleven, and last there was Power Manipulation which let me messed with other people's powers and even make my own. Well this was an easy choice, before I even received the email, I did have a vague plan of what I would choose if I ever had the drive to write a fanfic. For three points, I took Power Manipulation as my chosen power, 3 points for Shaper and 3 for Kaleidoscope. Total= 9, 3 left.
My main reason for this was that first the ability to create whatever power I wanted, even the stupid ones or just plain weird ones. Like for example, the power to make puppies appear anywhere or the power to turn anything into a kitchen sink, or power that turn anything you touch to gold with no control, well I wanted to make the powers that don't show up anywhere save for anime/manga media. A particular inspiration for my reasoning would be solo-leveling and the power of shadow monarch and the other monarchs, I was nowhere near that level but I will be with time. I would become like Momonga from Overlord an OP bastard that has so much power, he can do anything he wants. Or the Medaka Box and one of the antagonist who had over four quadrillion powers ranging for mundane abilities, stupid ones, weird ones, broken ones, and everything in between. Oh the fun I could have if I could make whatever powers I wanted, and do anything I want. Of course, there were limits, a few but limits nonetheless. I only had five charges a day that could be used to make powers and any power I made would be considered by PRT rating a four or a five. No instantaneous omnipotence powers off the bat.
The reason for my second power shaper, I mean who doesn't want control over biological matter, think of the possibilities, I can create bodies for people, age or de-age someone, kill a body, make someone have cancer or make them impotent, change their genders….oh the possibilities.
As for 3rd power, well kaleidoscope, now that was something everyone knew about. I wanted to see the world, not just this one, but also other worlds, like tv series animes, movies, games, manhwa/pornhwa. Especially pornhwa's because how hot the characters are in them, Just thinking of the possibilities….he..hehe….hehehehe....
Well, that was power choice decided. I still had three points to spend on perks. Each perk cost one point each which meant 3 perks, if I didn't buy companions. That was fine, since I didn't care much for the available companion choices anyway. Choosing what perks to take was easy.
Blank, Shattered Limiter, and Invictus, Blank because I didn't want to be on Simurgh's hit list or Contessa's sight any time soon. Shattered Limiter because I didn't want to be affected by other trumps and having five charges was a bit restrictive in my opinions. Invictus because courage would be needed to withstand the horrors that the worm-verse or the other universes had to offer. That and no mind slash body control powers. With all that done, I was finally finished with my choices. In a few minutes, I typed up a reply to send to the mysterious sender.

With that, I sent the mail and went back to browsing the interactive CYOA forum. About half a minute later, I received a reply.
"Thank you for your time. Good Luck."
Weird.
After that I promptly forgot about the whole thing until the next day.
