Power Manipulator and his multiverse

Chapter 3: Chapter 3: CYOA

That left me with the two other choices, self-insert and reincarnation. This was a somewhat difficult choice. Both had perks and complications unique to each other. Self-insert had the perk "Secret Lair" which made it so that instead of some random alleyway, I would arrive in a secret hideout with all the space I might need, untraceable and functioning utilities, and stocked with resources. And also the fact that I liked myself, I mean if wanted to make changes to myself then I could just get or make a power for it like: shape shifting, time powers, why would I want to reincarnate and start all over again.

On the flip side I could take drawbacks for more points if needed, and among the ones I had access to there were drawbacks like, "Leviathan" which had the aforementioned Endbringer come and target me specifically which was bad, only when I was still weak. But it also gave me two points if I chose it, and "Quarantined" which means I would arrive in Canberra, one of the places that had been targeted by Simurgh and thus quarantined to try and prevent whatever plan that Endbringer had. Which was kind of idiotic to be honest, the only reason the Endbringer's attacked was because of Edillon and his ego problem. Because with scion out of commission, Edillon really fucked everything and everyone up.

The problems with the second drawback was that being exposed as someone from Canberra after Simurgh's attack would get me incarcerated for the safety of everyone, things like the M/S protocols for masters. Two point for just arriving, two extra point for being seen to have arrived, and four extra points if I arrived during the attack which would really suck, if I can't defend myself and my mind.

Choosing reincarnation allowed me to take the perk "Alternate Continuity" which allowed me to make changes to the canon, changing up the setting. I could make it so that Parahuman's got their powers by doing something heroic, flip the script on who was a hero and who were the villains, I could make it so the every Parahuman was just make or female, I would prefer the latter though. Heck! I could change the setting so that it was no longer grimdark but a full on shonen story fest with all the shonen tropes. So many ideas come to mind if you think about it.

Choosing reincarnation was also a point, I could become a sibling to Glory girl and panacea or just choose a drawback like "Being Taylor is Suffering" which would make it so that instead of a custom character, I reincarnate as Taylor Hebert, the main character, but I like being male so no on that drawback.

After letting out a sigh, I gave up on the reincarnation, and just took self-insert. I like being me, why be someone else when you can make yourself better, smarter, more handsome, better body, and if you want to attract someone, these thing can help, then there are powers like the Waifu-Catalog or other CYOA that you can take inspiration from. The only people who can change their whole being that easily at the drop of a hat are those who hate themselves for who they are.

Neat, Next up, difficulty. The difficulty that I choose would determine the amounts of starting points I get to spend as well as how likely was I gonna end up in danger. World Breaker gave me a whopping twelve points which pretty much lets me win at everything forever. I mean, why would I choose something like skitter mode when I could become one of the strongest in possibly any world with enough time, by choosing World Breaker in V1 (God mode in V3 of the CYOA for Those who don't understand).

Some may say that power without the training and effort made is not good or helpful, well I say fuck you, if you want training make a power using power manipulator to not only copy powers but also copy the training that the person has done to reach that level as well as their knowledge of it, problem solved. So 12 points in hand and looking down on the CYOA, going down the list reduced to see the abilities I have in mind.

My possible starting points and if I take a drawback which increases the chances of getting dragged into major conflicts that were part of the worm universe. They are an easy source of points but why should I, so unless I'm an idiot who goes looking for it, danger won't come to me. I Of course, didn't want things to be hardcore "nintendo hard" hard.

Because there are drawbacks Like, Everything gets worse - Fate conspires to make any positive that I make to the setting fall apart. Bad guys win a lot, heroes die, and victory at great sacrifice. Just like canon! Take this to receive four points of awesome! Yeah….no. If there's any real reason for me doing this thing, it's to bring about a change for the better. If I had to fight fate for even just a sliver of positive change, sure I would if there was no other way but since it's optional. Nope, No way. The next couple of complications are much more agreeable.

Things like Marked- Get put on the shitlist of a faction in the area I end up in on the first week in. Get one point and this can be taken three times. Okay, this one I can like, but like I said, I will only take this one if I need points for something extra. Let's see what else I can take that won't make a hypothetical trip to Worm suck balls for a character. Hmm, Leviathan. Two point to be targeted by the giant sea monster of hydrokinetic doom who has the goal of either exposing me and my powers to the world or killing me? hmm, meh.

If I'm smart then this won't be a problem for long, cause I'll make sure, I won't die and I'll probably be outing myself to Cauldron and the Protectorate before then, besides once I'm done, no one would want to come after me in my civilian identity. And after the Endbringer leaves, I can probably help with fixing up Brockton Bay and the world and then leave for another. Now let's see what else is here. Quarantined. Yeah. No. I'm not dealing with that shit. Nope, I'm a Bastard, I admit with what I have planned but, Hahaha, seriously, I am not going anywhere near Simurgh, unless I can defend my mind from her.
