Qian Haisheng motioned for his bodyguard to bring Gan Qiqi over.

“Little girl, come here!” the bodyguard barked viciously at Gan Qiqi, and without waiting for a response, he reached out to grab her braid.

Qiao Jing’s pupils sharpened, a fierce chill flashing in her eyes as she reached out to grab the man’s wrist, stopping him from pulling on Gan Qiqi’s braid.

Qian Haisheng frowned and sized up the well-covered Qiao Jing.

Qiao Jing said coldly, “She’s just a child. Do you have no compassion at all for being so fierce?”

As her words fell, Qiao Jing applied force to her wrist, then more force.

“Crack—crack, crack, crack—” a chilling sound of bones snapping echoed.

“Ahh—ah, ah, ah—” the bodyguard erupted in agonized screams, like a pig being butchered.

“Get lost!” Qiao Jing exerted herself, sending the bodyguard flying with a kick.

The kick sent him flying several yards away.

Abler’s eyes glowed hotly as he watched Qiao Jing, recalling the times when she was in their mercenary squad; each time he saw Qiao Jing take action, he couldn’t help but admire her immensely.

Qian Haisheng lit a lighter, aiming it at the fuse of the explosives, his expression manic, “Then we all die together!”

After a full minute of deadlock, Qiao Jing was the first to speak, breaking the impasse.

“I won’t hand her over to you; you just want a hostage, I’ll be that hostage.”
