Grinding his teeth, Qian Haisheng said, “Fine, then I’ll trouble Professor Qiao to be my hostage. Please cooperate with me. Rest assured, you are a pillar of the state. As long as you don’t pull any tricks, I won’t harm you, and I wouldn’t dare take your life.”

Qian Haisheng knew very well that if he killed Gan Qiqi and angered the Gan family, he might have a sliver of chance at survival.

But if he were to kill Qiao Jing, he would be completely doomed.
