Primordial God Of Time

Chapter 57: Infiltration... Meeting Amira...

Kranos began formulating a plan. He wanted to infiltrate this mountain range to check on the creature's condition and see if it was feasible to proceed with his plan to fight it before leaving.

He immediately studied the cultivators to find someone he could impersonate. Having the stature of a small child, he needed someone of similar build. Soon, he spotted a man whose physique was similar to his, though more muscular. That didn't matter, however; he could simply wear a few more layers of clothes to appear similar, as long as the man's height matched.

After choosing his candidate, Kranos began cultivating. He noticed that Ko seemed to be advising them on something, so he couldn't impersonate the young man just yet. As he waited, time passed, and another day went by smoothly. It had already been a week since Kranos embarked on his journey to find the Worm Demon.

Now, Kranos had one month and a few weeks before leaving this world. He stared at the purple sun hanging in the sky and, after letting out a faint sigh, turned to glance at the mountain range once again. He realized that they had long finished their discussion, and everyone had dispersed into their tents.

Kranos didn't know which tent belonged to the young man from yesterday, so he could only stay and watch their daily activities, waiting for the young man to emerge.

Fortunately, Kranos didn't have to wait long. Within a few minutes, another tent opened, and the young man stepped out. Kranos immediately began to wonder how he would attract the man's attention. He couldn't directly head into the mountain range as there were still others around, and although he couldn't see Ko, he felt that the old man must be nearby.

After thinking it through, Kranos decided that the safest time to act would be at night. With this thought, Kranos knew he had to discard his white robes. Fortunately, he had brought robes of other colors; he had also faintly guessed he might do something like this, so he specifically bought a black robe for the occasion.

Donning himself in the black robes, Kranos began his wait. Time passed very slowly, and Kranos was already tired of waiting, but he knew he had to be patient. He didn't want to let the man out of his sight. He had to ensure no errors occurred, otherwise, his plan would be in jeopardy, and he would have no way of executing it a second time as they would be on their guard.

Soon it was nighttime, and Kranos immediately knew it was time to act. His body flickered, and he immediately used the space element to appear outside the tent. Without any hesitation, he went in. While he was watching the tents, he noticed no one stepping into the tent after the young man had seemingly gone to bed; of course, he waited two hours to confirm this.

Upon entering, Kranos noticed the young man sleeping in his bed. They even sleep with their masks here? He was stunned but didn't think too much about it. Taking out the time sword, Kranos was prepared to kill the man, but at this moment, the man stood up with a jolt.

Kranos was shocked. He immediately used the time element to pause the man's movement while simultaneously using the space element to appear behind the man. All this took two seconds, and as Kranos appeared beside the man, he regained his movements, but it was too late.

However, just as Kranos was about to kill the young man, he heard… a young lady's voice?

"Don't kill me!" a female voice immediately pleaded.

Kranos was stunned for a moment, his hand paused slightly. Just as he was about to continue, the voice continued, "I'll tell you everything I know!"

He immediately hesitated. He needed some useful information, like the routines here and details about the Worm Demon. Although he could be lied to, Kranos felt he could easily discover the truth by casually discussing with the other corrupted cultivators under the guise of his impersonated identity.

"Alright, take off your mask, what is your name, and what is a lady like you doing here?" Kranos asked, pointing his sword at her.

The lady slowly took off her mask, and Kranos realized that underneath it lay another mask? But this one was different; it seemed to be made of arrays and formations. Kranos couldn't help but praise the ingenuity of the mask.

"You are not from here?" he immediately said. He faintly guessed that this lady was most likely an impersonator like him.

The lady under the brown mask seemed stunned for a moment and asked Kranos in return, "You… I thought you've realized my identity and come to kill me?"

Kranos was similarly stunned. If he had realized her identity, he would have asked her politely, not with a sword to her neck. The lady also seemed to guess Kranos's thoughts; at the same time, she realized Kranos's intention.

"You want to infiltrate as well?" she asked, but Kranos didn't respond. He still wasn't sure if this lady was a friend or foe, so he had to be cautious.

The lady noticed Kranos's silence and proceeded to answer his first questions, "My name is Amira, I am Ming's only disciple, and I am here for revenge!" As she spoke, Kranos could see a fierce glint in her eyes.

He was similarly shocked at the lady's identity. He didn't expect Ming to have a disciple, one that she had hidden so deeply! It was no wonder she could wear a mask filled with arrays and formations!

"Why would you want to take revenge with your weak strength?" Kranos looked at the girl. He noticed that her cultivation was just at the first stage Foundation Establishment realm. This was the definition of courting death in its truest sense… Find the translation on MV&LEMPYR.

At his words, the lady under the mask fell silent for a bit. The next moment, seemingly gritting her teeth, she spoke, "…but that monster killed my master, I have to avenge my master or she wouldn't rest in peace!"

"Can't you endure, increase your strength for a while, and come back to take revenge in the future?" Kranos shook his head. He couldn't understand the thoughts of cultivators sometimes.

The lady was once again stunned. She then voiced out her concerns in a low voice, "But wouldn't the creature become more powerful by then?"

This time, it was Kranos's turn to be speechless.
