Chapter 511: A quick and accurate mission
As he sat behind a desk in his own territory, Matthew was reading some documents that had recently come to him.
The room was lonely; only he was present.
After reading it, he smiled and placed it on the table.
Then he got up and walked to one of the nearby windows.
Below him was a huge city under construction, and it seemed to have some businesses opening. Thanks to the good location and the tactics Matthew was using to attract people, there were a lot of people already, not counting the natives.
Their territory was already starting to develop from one corner to the other. Whether it was mines or food crops, everything was starting to emerge as a big industry.
And all this had triggered several things. The Richter Kingdom announcements are one example, but even other Kingdoms had been meddled with. Part of that, or at least what was being said, was because he stole too many investors from the West Trade City.
Perhaps it was the first time in the vampire world's history that a City so important to international trade lost so many investors and gained them, in turn, another city that almost no one supported. But that was the reality.
Much of the business world had risen up against this, and there were even those who accused Matthew of using threat tactics to take away many of the businessmen and the like.
That really wasn't the biggest problem.
The problem was a certain treaty signed by King Richter and other eminences of the world, in which they assured that they were going to recover everything lost because of Matthew Dietrich and the decisions of the Allens. This, indirectly, seemed to have the backing of some Vampire Clans because among the signatories were some familiar faces in the current world, belonging or related to Vampire Clans.
'They want to use that as a cover, I guess. Seems like that Organization can't get enough. Losing the City of Clans doesn't seem enough; I wonder how far they'll escalate all this.' He thought.
Naturally, he wasn't going to buy the story that a measly King Richter was trying to stand up to Clan Allen or him. Although that man is powerful and is sure to be behind whatever happens from now on, he obviously wouldn't oppose Clan Allen just because of a Trade City.
Even if he had lost the City of Clans, he would not oppose such a huge colossus by himself, he was not an idiot after all. From the rumors that were said about that man, he is a person with great intelligence and cunning; he does not tend to act rashly if he does not have sufficient reason to do so; evidently, he does not get into places where he cannot win, for he is a cautious man.
That being the case, realizing what kind of backing he should have is easy enough.
That's why he should be careful from now on, not that he cares much.
As he was thinking, a sound came from the door, so he turned to see.
Isla was there, looking at him with a smile.
"Is it time already?" he asked, and she nodded.
"Yes, we've already finished that part. All that's left is to bring them in." She replied.
Matthew nodded, and after grabbing her by the waist, they left.
Outside the main building, they met Alice and Emma, and after a few short words, they started flying at high speed towards the borders.
Matthew intended to go looking for his female vampires who had stayed behind in the Empire. He had communicated with them before, so they were waiting for him.
That's why he traveled at high speed towards that place, taking some time to arrive.
The barrier here was still upright and intact. It seemed unaffected by anything. Although there were weak places in this barrier, which are where the vampire armies are stationed, Matthew did not look for a weak part. In fact, he looked for the most remote and strongest area he could find so as not to be discovered.
After arriving here, Matthew didn't even study the place. He knew his girls were hiding on the other side, so he simply walked over to the barrier and put his hand on it.
"Stand back a little." He spoke.
Subsequently, he closed his eyes and made his icy power surge out of his body. Immediately, the power took root in the barrier and froze a large part. Experience more tales on empire
Then he squeezed his hand gently.
*CRACK*
The muffled sound of a minor, strange explosion covered the surroundings, and suddenly, the section of the barrier that had been frozen came crashing down, partially destroying itself.
Seeing this, Matthew sent a signal to the nearby female vampires.
They were already amazed to see the barrier break so easily, but they all jumped out of the vicinity and ran to the other side of the barrier. It happened quickly, and Matthew soon allowed the barrier to repair itself again.
In 15 minutes, there were no more traces of the Empire side; only a large number of vampires gathered on the Dark Kingdom side.
Matthew smiled at all of them.
"It's been a long..." He said, but suddenly he had to stop talking, as one of those women jumped towards him.
"My Lord!" A strange, beaming smile surrounded Ava Thompson's face as she hugged Matthew. "It's been a long time, my Lord. I thought you had left us." She said and put on a sad face.
Her face was already pretty and tender, so making that gesture increased her tenderness severalfold.
But suddenly, Ava Thompson was pulled without her being able to resist.
Ava looked back and smiled, returning to her usual professional posture. "Long time no see, Lady Alice." She said and then moved her face to the woman to one side of her.
Ava was suddenly stunned.
Seeing the woman at Alice's side, a strange feeling blossomed inside her.
Somehow, the aura she had made her want to lean in a little.
"Lady... May I know your name?" Ava asked in confusion.
Isla looked at her and nodded. She could feel that the woman in front of her looked exactly like her.
"You can call me Isla." Isla replied, smiling kindly towards her.
The rest of the vampires were shocked by Ava's strange behavior, but after looking at Isla, they could understand.
It's as if Isla had Big Sister's aura surrounding her entire body.
Matthew then stepped forward and put a hand up on Ava's shoulder. "You can treat her like Big Sister. Her situation is similar to all of yours." He replied.
Ava looked at him and nodded. 'I see. That's why... But I feel she has something else. She seems to be a great assassin; will I be able to learn from her?' Although she was very curious, she didn't move.
Instead, she stepped away from Matthew and handed him several documents.
"I have been leading the sisters on the other side, and we have accomplished great things. Even so, Sister Caroline Fellim could not continue her mission from the inside and was imprisoned. This is all we have done."
Matthew was surprised by that but smiled at her. "I have to go do something, so have these documents until I get back. We'll talk about everything at that time. For now, go back to my territories." He replied and looked at Emma.
She nodded to him. Without needing him to say anything, she fired a flare gun. No more than 10 minutes passed when a huge ship appeared among the nearby mountains and quickly approached the group.
"It's reliable, Matt." She said, at which Matthew smiled at her.
"I trust you. Return all of you to my territories. I'll be back shortly to brief you on what will happen from now on. In the meantime, show yourselves to no one."
After those few words, Emma and the other women boarded the huge flying boat and quickly left the place.
After being left alone and standing still for several minutes, Matthew approached the barrier again.
'Freezing the barrier and breaking it is simple; what is not simple is hiding this oddity from the view of whoever controls this thing. But this time, I have succeeded.' He thought.
He did not stop when he reached the barrier. He continued walking as if there was nothing there, and when it looked like he was going to crash into it, the crash never came.
His body passed through the barrier without any problem. The only difference was that as he crossed it, this strange barrier dropped some ice, which made Matthew frown. 'It's a warning mechanism, huh? They were even prepared for that. But I wonder if they'll be able to notice it since it has frozen time.' He smiled and continued on his way.
Whether they realized it or not, that was not his problem. He came here solely to meet Charlotte and would leave alone after doing so.
He walked with great strides and at a terrifying speed in a straight line until he reached a huge mountain covered by undergrowth on all sides.
On top of that mountain, he could see a beautiful figure looking at the sky. He smiled.
Soon, he disappeared from where he was and appeared near her.
"It seems that even in another world, you still love to look at the sky." He spoke.
