Chapter 224: Chapter 224 : Endgame: Pink Hair Cut Black
"Uh… Midoriya-kun… don't you think this is a bit much? These people aren't even fighting back anymore… You don't have to kill them, right?"
Ochako's voice trembled. Watching Midoriya Izuku slaughter so many had shaken her to the core. After all, U.A. had only ever taught them to capture villains, not execute them.
Even the pro heroes, hardened by years of experience, were disturbed by the mountain of corpses before them. For students who had yet to graduate, the sight was even more overwhelming.
They had come here believing they were supporting Midoriya. But after witnessing his ruthless massacre—his relentless slaughter of enemies who had already lost the will to resist—Bakugo could no longer stand by.
"I hate these guys too, but they've already given up! You don't have to wipe them all out!"
"Not bad, Kacchan… no, Bakugo! You've grown a lot compared to before. I can finally recognize you as a true hero."
Instead of reacting with anger, Midoriya smiled approvingly at Bakugo's outburst. Compared to the boy who used to scream "DIE!" at every turn, this Bakugo had matured—mentally, at least.
"I don't need your damn approval! My dream is to become a hero greater than All Might! And if even you can defeat All Might, then that means you're my target now, Midoriya Izuku!!"
Without hesitation, Bakugo launched another explosion straight at Midoriya.
That was just how he was—direct and to the point. No lectures, no fancy reasoning. If something pissed him off, he solved it with his fists.
If enemies attacked Midoriya and got slaughtered, he wouldn't bat an eye. After all, they were the ones who picked a fight they couldn't win.
But executing defenseless survivors? That was something he could not stand for.
Bakugo had come to terms with his past mistakes.
The pride he once found in bullying the weak was nothing more than empty arrogance.
Now that he had accepted his own failures and was willing to change, he couldn't just stand by and watch Midoriya walk the same path.
"You're no different from how I used to be. Are you seriously enjoying this? Getting a kick out of tormenting people weaker than you?"
"You're right. Watching them cower in fear… seeing the despair in their eyes… It makes me very happy."
"You son of a—!!"
Gritting his teeth in fury, Bakugo threw a punch straight at Midoriya's face—
But before it could land, his body froze.
Countless steel wires shot out, wrapping tightly around him, locking him in place.
"Don't forget one thing. You're a hero. And I'm a villain."
Midoriya's voice was calm, almost indifferent.
Then, without another glance, he turned and walked away, leaving Bakugo struggling in vain, his face burning red with rage.
"Sorry, Midoriya. Looks like I have to stop you too."
"Todoroki… I knew you'd say that."
Looking at Todoroki Shoto standing before him, Midoriya let out a sigh.
If Bakugo stepped up, it was only natural the others would follow. After all, that's just the kind of idiots heroes were.
"Midoriya-kun, I have to stop you too. I can't let you keep doing this."
"You say that like you actually stand a chance…"
Takeyama Urei stepped forward as well, followed closely by Ochako.
"Midoriya, you have to stop before it's too late!"
"Oh, so you all just found an excuse to gang up on me, huh?"
Midoriya scoffed, but before he could react, another voice joined in.
"Midoriya-chan~ killing this many people isn't good, y'know? You might get addicted to it."
"What am I, a chain smoker…?"
Hatsume Mei's usual carefree attitude gave Midoriya a headache.
Yep. No doubt about it.
They were all just here to make his life harder.
Most of Class A had gathered in front of Midoriya, completely blocking his path.
"Hurry and run to All Might while you can… This is all we can do."
Class rep Iida Tenya spoke to the enemies who had already lost all hope. Whether this was the right choice or not, as a student who strictly followed U.A.'s rules, Iida could only make the same decision as his classmates.
Helping the enemy was wrong, but Midoriya Izuku killing all of them was also wrong. Maybe some of them truly deserved it, but that didn't mean they could just wipe them all out.
Of course, there was no absolute answer to what was the best choice. Everyone had their own standards of judgment… Midoriya chose to eliminate every enemy who crossed the line, while the heroes chose to follow the law and show mercy, giving them a chance to repent.
Iida Tenya's words had an effect. The enemies, as if clinging to their last hope, all ran toward All Might. If they could free the bound No.1 hero, maybe they still had a chance to survive.
The funniest part was that these were the same people who normally despised All Might, yet now, when their lives were on the line, they saw him as their savior.
Meanwhile, the others, realizing just how strong Midoriya's defense was, didn't hold back as they launched their full-force attacks at him.
"Hey… you guys are really starting to make me mad."
He shattered Todoroki Shoto's massive ice wall into shards, dodged Takeyama Urei's giant stomp, and evaded Ochako's sneak attack to remove his gravity… After dealing with a wave of attacks, Midoriya decided he was done playing around.
With a swing of his right hand, steel wires shot out, wrapping around all of his attackers and binding them in place. In the end, dealing with these people who were getting in his way… was as easy as lifting a finger.
"Stay quiet for a bit. I've still got work to do."
Looking at his classmates now hanging in the air, wrapped in steel wires, Midoriya knew this had slowed him down somewhat. After all, he still cared about them, and he didn't want to hurt his friends.
"So they really did go to All Might, huh?"
The remaining enemies put up little resistance. Even if they did manage to free All Might, it wouldn't make a difference—at this point, the No.1 hero was no longer a match for Midoriya Izuku.
Just as Midoriya was about to step toward the massive crater, he suddenly realized he couldn't move. Looking down, he saw that his foot was stuck to one of Mineta Minoru's purple balls.
"…Mineta, when did you stick this on me?"
He turned to look at Mineta, who was now wrapped up like a mummy in his own steel wires. Midoriya couldn't help but feel both amused and annoyed. He hadn't even noticed he'd been caught.
"It wasn't me! It was Hatsume Mei!"
"Hatsume Mei!?"
Hatsume Mei, the only one who hadn't been tied up, gave a sheepish smile and stuck out her tongue.
"I've been working on upgrading Class A's hero costumes, so I made a special gadget for Mineta—a 'Bounce Gun' that shoots out his sticky balls."
"And I figured Midoriya-chan would make the perfect test subject! No hard feelings, right?"
"…"
At that moment, Midoriya confirmed something—when it comes to pink-haired people… they always have a dark side.
