Chapter 315: Finding Maria
"Is that the last of them?" Jane mused, freezing the head of a monster.
There were dozens of monster corpses beneath them, and all this time, they had been doing nothing but going from Shrine to Shrine.
And they were pretty damn successful, considering their levels had increased drastically.

Rael hummed in satisfaction at his stat increases.
He had obtained plenty of those minor stat-increasing potions, and quite a lot of stats from leveling as well.
By now, he considered himself pretty strong, and since he had already filled the requirements necessary to advance ahead—
<World #2221 will undergo a second awakening in: 73 days.>
<Requirements to survive the second awakening>
1. Reach level 50. (Completed)
2. Evolve your class once. (Completed)
3. Kill 1 human. (Completed)
"How about you two? How are your levels looking?" Rael asked.
"Level 51," Jane announced proudly.
And so did Julian. "Level 55. I'm surprised I'm getting so much experience. Though I guess you do run in like a masochistic maniac, so the more I heal you, the more experience I can get."
In the end, Rael was basically a sponge for Julian.
A very effective sponge.
Still, they stopped because the arena was starting tomorrow.
Because of that, he needed to find Maria.
But given how loudly she introduced herself last time, I doubt that'd be too hard.
Nevertheless, he had 8 High Grade Weapon Upgrade materials, so after a not-so-thorough moment of thinking, he put them all into his weapons.
And of course... the stats were definitely a sight for sore eyes.
—Basic Reaper Sword (Rare++) → (Legendary-)
Durability: 4,114/5,000 → 25,000/25,000
Damage: 244–485 → 1,593–3,115
+50 Strength
+50 Agility
+100 Constitution
<Special Effect: You can slash incorporeal beings and deal 55% → 95% more damage to them!>
<Special Effect 2: You have gained the skill: Ghastly Swordsmanship (Epic)>
Oh shit? Rael tilted his head and inspected the skill right away.
Ghastly Swordsmanship (Epic) (Passive): Your sword strikes partially phase through matter, ignoring 10% of enemy defense. Each attack has a chance to leave behind a ghastly wound, dealing minor damage over time. 15% chance to summon an echo that repeats your last slash at reduced power.
It wasn't too bad, but he was honestly expecting something a bit more from an Epic skill.
Even so, after tidying himself up and appreciating the massive upgrades, they were ready to go back to the city.
Since they weren't too far away, it only took them around an hour to walk back, and when they finally arrived, they instantly went out to search for Maria since she was the only clue he had in regard to the arena.
If he could participate, or even figure something else out, then that'd be extremely beneficial.
After all, he didn't feel like he was any closer to understanding any of his feats.
Namely, the bottom two.
2. Obtained the Supreme Beast's inheritance. (???)
1. Survived the causality of inevitable death. (???)
The inevitable death... could it be the part where I nearly died, but became a Reaper instead? Rael mused before shaking his head. No way. It's way too simple. These feats are high class, so I might only be able to find out more about them in the other Memory Records... but I need the other Supreme Beast fragments.
The only problem was, he needed to be at least Grade 5 King Class to even be able to go to the areas where he could obtain them.
That was equivalent to a Grade 2 Apocalypse Class, and if Rael were to take the current Mythic ascension option, then he'd need to be at the very least a high-level Grade 3 to be able to make up for the difference.
Anyhow... I want to at least find out something about the Supreme Beast bullshit before this thing ends.

.
A few hours had passed, and finally, they managed to get a hold of some information.
"Goddess Maria? Yeah, she had her parade just yesterday. I believe... Uhh... nah, I forgot where it was, teehee..."
"The Goddess? It was down by the subway station where the big green tree stands. She looked so radiant that I..."
"Yeah, she mentioned another parade later today... the benefits of being a VIP..."
With that information in mind, Rael made his way to where the big tree was.
He remembered meeting her around the same place, just a few blocks away.
So if he had to guess, then she lived somewhere near the subway.
"Say... do we really need to look for her?" Jane asked. "I mean... if it's an arena, won't we be able to see it?"
"What? Do you think the arena will envelop the entirety of Seoul? I highly doubt that. It might just be some stupid arena in the corner of the city," Rael replied plainly. "If anything, I doubt she knows either. I'm just visiting on the off chance she does."
She wasn't very helpful last time, so he had his hopes pretty low.
"Fair enough..." Jane sighed. "I guess let's find her first. Should we split up?"
Rael shook his head as he glanced at the giant tree ahead.
Then, he shot a look toward one of the buildings nearby.
It was decorated with fancy golden pillars, and it looked like it was repainted.
Better yet, the platform he had seen that day was parked right outside, so it didn't take a genius to realize that Maria was right there.
Therefore, without wasting another second, they approached her building and stepped inside.
