Chapter 2451: Regeneration
The members didn't hesitate and did was the person told.
He was the healer put in charge of taking care of these people. And Hephaestus students who love their order and process, did hear without showing any arrogance. There was still some time before the attack on the next city and they decided to consult the elders before that happened.
They sent some mercenary forces with the recording devices and the injured members, along with an auxiliary member that knew enough about the matter.
The elder incharge of the Hephaestus academy was dumbfounded when he was presented with the video and then was told about the condition of the five patients.
"Are you sure? Its really the curse of the flaming hell? How can he fucking pull it off? That too with puppets? It is not some random curse that can be triggered with a cursed object or some single use scroll."
The elder sounded frustrated and rightfully so.
Who would believe that Sam not only managed to make the puppets life like, he almost made they execute a curse that was only possible for high level masters in curses.
He just shut up after venting his annoyance and moved on to watching the video. He did again and again as if he was afraid he would miss anything.
He observed everything. The students, the wolves, their movements, the way they acted and attacked.

He was focused to the extreme.
But no matter how much he tried, he couldn't figure out how the curse was applied. As for why they were so invested in it…
Curse of the flaming hell was one of the high level advanced curses of fire element. One of the key factors of this curse was that if you want to apply it to a person, you need to prepare their bodies a bit.
You need to ensure that not only are they in the perfect condition, but also that they stayed in contact with a high level fire elemental object for a long time. Their bodies should be used to the heat unique to the high level fire elemental energy.
Once their bodies are prepared. Then they can try to apply the curse. It had to be mixed in with fire attack like a fire ball, inferno or anything similar. Only through the actual fire can it be injected.
Who would be stupid enough to let all those conditions be satisfied?
And even if they did, it is not easy to inject that curse into someone. It will attack a person an cellular level. Even their mana core and the soul will be effected by it without exception.
If kept in the cursed state for a long time, their minds and souls would be kept in a limbo and their bodies will be soon succumbed to the fire elemental corrosion and collapse.
It would be painful. Until the very last moment, their souls find any peace. And once they did, they won't be able to feel anything. Not even that relief they get right before they were about to die.
It was a cruel curse and takes a lot out of people.
So, no one ever bothered to specialize in it. But it will help if you are trying to kill someone stronger than you.
Still, it should be impossible to make the wolf puppets make such a curse.
So, the elder was a bit concerned and nervous. He was scared by the capability of a person who could actually do that. After watching it for a long time, the elder said, recorded a video with his instructions and sent them back.
Even though he took his time in looking through the recording, it wasn't too long. He sent them away with still half an hour left for the next stage of the fight.
The members looked at the recordings and got the plan.
The leaders came out and explained it to their members.
"Basically, there wasn't any complicated plan. We were just ordered to not aggressively handle Sam's puppets. Unless we are absolutely sure that we can destroy the wolf in a singular strike, we shouldn't show any to them.
We are going to send three puppeteers, who are good at managing their own puppets and in not just for chores. They should be able to maintain that state in the battlefield.
We are going to swarm the puppets with our own puppets and golems. We are going to use sheer number to try and exhaust them. Even if we can't, we should keep them occupied enough to not give them their freedom.
We are going to block them tightly."
That was all the plan. That was what at least the elder could think of in that short time.
After all, that was the most direct way to deal with the puppets. The biggest drawback of these kinds of professions was that they loose a lot of energy just for controlling and moving them around. They will be the first to run out of energy.
Even with the enhancements and augmentations that they could possibly afford, they wouldn't last long.
As long as you take down their puppets, the puppeteer will lose a lot of energy and soon he will be your bitch.
He is going to be easy pickings.
The elder went with that strategy. The members followed it to the last letter. They used the same strategy.
Instead of using the shield while sitting or standing they levitated. They flew in the sky to welcome the battle. The puppets looked at the, but they didn't show any reaction. They are puppets after all.
As they were about to make a move, the five member in the air, dropped a bunch of golems and puppets. The wolves just stared at them. When their eyes landed on the puppets and golems that came out, one could have guessed that those faces showed immense disdain.
They were ashamed to be in the same category as those creatures, as fellow puppets.
The battle began. The wolves raged. With flames covering their body, every creature they touched and attacked, soon started crumbling down. The fire elemental energy entered their bodies and turned to energy poison.
Not just any poison, cursed elemental energy poison.
As if every forged or crafted structure or component on the puppets and the golems, was not meant to exist like that… collapsed and turned to pieces. And this happened, only to the puppets. Once the first wave was done, the five wolves just turned look at the men flying over in the air.
The five also looked back. However, they didn't attack. But stayed vigilant.
And through that vigilance, they saw something that shocked them. In a way, shock was an understatement. They noticed that the puppets were damaged. Some part of their surface that looked like fur was burned and slashed open.
Another puppet had a similar cut on its legs.
Finally one puppet had a dent on its back. They were not serious injuries that could end them. But they were serious enough to not to ensure that they don't back into the battlefield immediately. The puppets will be broken with the next attacks.
These broken parts will be their vulunerability.
So, they locked their eyes on to those spots, to try and understand if they could see anything beyond that surface.
However, they saw something else instead. The slash, cut or dent, whatever damage it was… they started 'healing'
Automatically.
It was like a normal slash to a high level cultivator who took a healing potion. Small threads, hundreds of them spread out from either side of the cut and intertwined. They joined together and soon the metal slowly deposited around them, creating a perfect repair.
Finally, even the fur that was burned or torn away was replaced. It just sprouted out of the skin like it does with a normal wolf, but just a million times faster. The five wolf puppets just looked at them with their new makeovers.
This stumped everyone more than their versatile attacks and powerful blasts.
Because this is the most groundbreaking aspect of the puppets. As for why it was? It wasn't just the self repair. There are many models like that. But the process of that model, gave them a slight insight on what could be really underneath the surface of those puppets.
Particularly, the movement of the threads and the way they intertwined, it was almost like they were looking at the repair process of muscle fibers. It was so precise, so clear and so perfectly repaird that they looked like they were watching a demonstration on how an accelerated natural healing looks like.
That means, the puppets that are not even actually sentient now have a recovery and regeneration system that was similar to that of a human.
While they were still reeling in that shock, the puppets made their move. Omitting out the details, the second city officially entered the ranks of Sam's territory.
