Gideon remembered the original story well, at least to a certain amount.

He never really finished the story of the 'Dancing corpse.' and neither did he understand much of what happened there, due to how rushed the author made it.

But one thing Adonis definitely remembered, was the gruesome sight of Filo getting sliced in half from the attack of the Minotaur slipping out of the darkness.

He had already grabbed Filo's hand, taking a few steps back away from the C rank monster.

It was at least 7 feet tall with a gaint axe and red glowing eyes.

The giant minotaur.

"Ad..onis, what is a C rank monster doing in this dungeon? It shouldn't be possible." Filo voiced with a shaky voice, it was obvious she was getting terrified.

And one couldn't blame her. She was only an F rank adventurer, facing a minotaur with her pathetic strength was nothing but suicide.

"Just stay calm..." Adonis spoke, not moving his gaze from the huge monster.

For some reason, the images of Filo dying kept replaying in his head, like a continuous reminder of what was to come.

It was almost like the original Adonis was pleading for him to avoid the incident.

Fix the plot— literally anything that would guarantee Filo surviving.

Raaaaah!

The minotaur roared, slashing it's axe to the side to intimidate it's prey.

'If this thing wanted us dead, it would have done so already. The fact it hadn't, means it's toying with us, j can use that to my advantage. Adonis is a healer, which means there isn't much I can do when it comes to combat... tsk! Is there really no way for me to avoid this? Am I going to have to run?'

While he was thinking of a way out, he felt Filo grip him by the shirt from the back, her hand trembling.

'I don't have any other choice!'

He grabbed her by the hand...

"Sorry about this..."

"Sorry about whaaaaa?!"

With a single push, he shoved her into a corner in the cave, keeping her away from danger.

Almost immediately, the minotaur launched forward, magic swirling around it's axe as it attacked Rashin.

Quick to his feet, Adonis was able to leap to the side, but unfortunately, he wasn't fast enough.

The axe managed to chop off some flesh from his hand before he fell to the ground.

Blood trailed on the ground as Adonis immediately stood to his feet, ignoring his open wound and taking to his heels.

The minotaur, still hungry for blood could not resist the urge to chase, even though Filo was right before it's eyes.

Injured, Adonis was still trying to get away from the monster, while also making sure he wasn't losing too much blood.

'Fuck this character man! How are you the main character and you're an E rank healer?!'

Adonis was angered, the moment he got up from the ground after the minotaur attack, he healed himself with his skill.

It meant nothing due to how low his rank was.

'Dammnit!'

He slid on the ground, panting heavily as he rested his back on a rock— hiding from the minotaur.

'Shit! This isn't going to end well at this rate. Knowing Filo, she'll probably come back for me, and there's almost a 100% chance she will die. I can't do much since the character I reincarnated as is so damn weak... what the hell should I do here?'

Just as he was thinking to himself... The system showed up again.

Adonis gulped down his saliva, his eyes fixed on the glowing screen.

Behind him, he could hear the closing footsteps of the minotaur closing in on him.

Did he really have any time to question whatever was happening?

'Yes!'

He replied.

[Beginning upgrade...]

Adonis suddenly felt a huge pull of mana exist his body. His head turned light and his body long it's stance, almost dropping to the ground.

And then...

[Congratulations!]

[Your party member has been upgraded to a C rank.]

[You have gained +18 points to the 500 points needed to unlock the Skill back feature.]

Adonis was shocked, but not all too surprised. He had read a lot of stories about systems based novels, this only felt like he was a cast in the live action.

'According to the system, does that mean Filo is now a C rank adventurer?' he questioned.

Getting ready to tap the screen before him...

Raaaaaaaa!

His eyes widened when he noticed the minotaur was now beside him, axe raised and ready to strike.

"Fuck!"

Adonis tired to run; the side of the axe slammed against his ribs, crushing it before it sent him flying and slamming against that wall of the dungeon.

The moment he fell to the floor, he opened his eyes slowly, barely able to stand to his feet.

He could already see the monitaur walking towards him, the blade on the axe scraping the ground.

'Ahh.. no way this is happening right now. I can't move my body, I probably shattered my ribs from the impact.' Adonis began to fall unconscious, 'Dying twice... what a let down... and I only just arrived here.'

The Minotaur arrived in front of him, raising it's weapon.

"Sorry...seems like fixing the plot won't be happening...." He apologized to himself.

Almost instantly, someone dashed into the room with a huge amount of mana circulating their body.

They leaped up, grabbing the horn of the minotaur and slamming it's head to the ground with brute force.

Still gripping its horn, the individual continued to flip the monster side by side, railing the monster to the ground continuously.

Once done, they immediately ran towards Adonis, worry hitched on their faces...

"Adonis! Adonis! Can you hear me? Please wake up! Adonis!"

The voice desperately called out to him.

Adonis felt the grip on himself losing, until eventually... He fell unconscious.
