Chapter 139: Perfectly Ready
Three years gradually passed by in the valley. With a lifespan of centuries, such a time wasn't too little or too much.
Their self-genes and most affiliated geno arts had their ninth gene locks opened.
Bian had reached the ninth gene lock in his Dongxuan Sutra, with the inner cylinders having broken through to the tenth gene lock.
Han Yan had also reached the ninth gene lock in all her arts, with the sole exception of the Dongxuan Sutra at the seventh gene lock.
It only reached so high due to insights from Bian. Otherwise, it couldn't be unlocked just by sitting still and meditating.
Man Tian also reached the ninth gene lock in all his arts and was a step away from the tenth. He needed the actual push of a life-and-death battle to achieve the final step.
With their current fitness, they could proudly claim to be among the strongest surpassers ever to exist.
But Bian didn't believe this was enough to handle the Executioners. During their stay in the valley, he had explained his plan on how to handle Executioner Green.
It was quite a savage plan and took a year for them to fully grasp it. Once the exit to the valley appeared, they left with the Time Ape.
Although it was difficult, they were able to communicate with the Ape to enlist its help in exchange for some treasures.
As they stepped out of the valley, Tyrant was awaiting them with the Ivory Serpent wound around his wrist.
"The difficult ones are dead!" Tyrant snorted.
He had killed those Emperor Spirits and Berserk super creatures that could pose a threat to the shelter.
"We are as ready as we can be. Any more delay, and Executioner Green might leave." Bian addressed his group as he spoke.
"I won't bother asking if anyone wants to back out. Let's get things over and done with!"
Since the Executioners dared to threaten his life, he would be proactive and wipe them all out.
In fact, he was thankful for them. If they didn't exist, Bian wouldn't have been pushed so far and attained such strength.
Man Tian summoned the Golden Growler, and it enlarged to full size. With a burst of power, it began sprinting at full speed.
On the back of the Golden Growler, they went over their preparations once more.
"You should only fuse with the Holy Angel when things get too dire. Remember, we need to be prepared and react according to the plan," Bian spoke to Han Yan, their fingers interlocked.
"Get a room, you two, or do you think you're the only couple here?" Man Tian said with a smug smile.
"What!" ×2
"Yeah, I got married three and a half years ago. Or rather, half a year ago, since you said only three days passed in the world outside the valley," Man Tian said with a smile.
Bian was shocked? Betrayed? How come he didn't know about this?
"Then where is your ring?" he asked Man Tian.
He suppressed the urge to roll his eyes before answering, "Would you bring your wedding ring into the sanctuaries so it could get wrecked?"
Bian agreed with him. He wouldn't risk his ring getting damaged either.
"Why didn't you tell us about the wedding?" Han Yan asked him.
"Ah, she doesn't want people to know about us until I evolve. She has a lot of enemies and suitors who would go feral if they found out she married a surpasser," Man Tian said.
"Damn! You married a demigod?" Bian felt his worldview turn upside down.
He wouldn't go around comparing wives, but to think his best friend was getting some from a demigod...
He burst into laughter. "Good one. I wouldn't expect anything less from Man Tian."
...
Bian really had to make sure there were no loopholes in their plan.
His plan to deal with the regressor was easy. He made close to a million ways to deal with her.
Since only she would return upon death, she would be the only one that changed. He based his plans on her reactions, and they would act accordingly.
If she tried to fly straight up, if she turned back and ran, if she stood still, if she summoned a weapon, if she shouted, cried, ignored, or charged—
Every possible action would be met with a reaction and a different mode of death. He had to plan different ways to kill her so it wouldn't be repetitive.
That way, they would seem to be learning from her and put her in a state of paranoia. He anticipated her worries.
"How are they reacting to my moves?"
"My regression doesn't work against them?"
It would lead to a spiral of madness and death, which would be inevitable.
The rest depended on their strength. The plan wouldn't work if they got killed by her, but Bian was very sure that wouldn't happen due to two reasons.
The first reason was that they, as a team, were unbelievably strong. Strong enough to handle a weakened demigod, according to Bian's calculations. Though it could be hubris, he felt it was possible.
The second reason was that he was sure Executioner Green didn't evolve with her super gene points maxed out.
The world always had a balance, so would it be right if the Executioners had the ability to absorb any life essence?
No, Bian was dead sure that Executioner Green could only absorb the life essence of super creatures with time powers.
He glanced at the blue-furred ape watching excitedly as the scenery zoomed by on the back of the Golden Growler.
The ape would be the bait that would draw her into their well-planned net. Finding a super creature with temporal abilities was a high task, yet one was about to drop out of nowhere.
A major anchor of his plan depended on the Time Ape evading Executioner Green for over a day.
That way, even when she did regress, it would still be within their plans.
Everyone on the back of the giant lion sat down quietly. Even the Time Ape and Tyrant followed suit.
A storm was coming, a very violent storm. They needed to prepare themselves for it.
After a month of traveling, they finally arrived at their destination.
The ground was charred black for as far as the eyes could see. Burnt trees were everywhere in the land, with lava pools placed sporadically over the area.
Some parts of the place were very smooth like a plateau, while other parts undulated like waves at sea.
Bian felt the life force of several creatures using the Dongxuan Sutra. The weakest beings here were mutant creatures, with there being tons of sacred-blood creatures in the lava lake.
If not for the fruits that were hastened by Hope Spirit, even Bian would consider coming here to complete his mutant and sacred gene points.
The Golden Growler shrunk down in size, reducing their speed but also preventing them from being spotted.
They scoured the lands, which were perpetually stuck in night, until they discovered a green glow over a mountaintop.
Shua!
The hiss of a serpent could clearly be heard as a large snake head was sent flying into the sky.
"Found you!" Bian smiled coldly.
