Rebirth: Super gene

Chapter 141: Executioner Green vs Strength Overlord

The Golden Growler was fast. It was the fastest mount beast soul to exist. Bian didn't know why it was so special but he was sure of it.

Even Executioner Green moving at her top speed could only eat its dust. Once in every two minutes or so, she would teleport near the Golden Growler and land an attack.

It was only with the teleportation, that she could hope to keep up with it.

Her attacks were like a scratch when compared to the humongous Golden Growler. Its vitality and defense was so terrifying that it shrugged off most of her attacks.

Their high-speed chase went on for an hour, no side gaining an edge immediately.

"Very interesting! Let's see who lasts longer!" She yelled deliriously and blinked forwards in a blue light.

Her blade digs into the ankle of the Golden Growler, causing it to scream out for the first time.

Although, it was hurt, the beast was just to big to be slain in a single attack.

Instead of trying to kill the lion, she aimed to debilitate it instead and then deliver the finishing blow.

Her attack on the ankle was effective, but not serious enough to slow the Growler down.

Whenever she could, she would aim for different structural support parts of the lion like its ankles or knees.

Her attacks were brutal, but not massive enough in scale to devastate the Golden Growler immediately.

She teleported near the eyes of the growler and was about to blind it, but then a sharp ray flew rapidly towards her torso.

She hurriedly blocked the attack from Tyrant with her katana. The furious sharp ray slowed down by five times, losing most of its momentum, but this was an attack from Tyrant.

Boom!

A shockwave sent her spiraling towards the ground. The impact of the attack had been drastically reduced with its speed, but it was still a fearsome blow to receive.

Her black steel katana had cracks over the edge of the blade and blood gushed out from both her palms.

Her internal organs were vibrating so badly, she had to pause and recover properly. The cracks on her blade healed up, like a video in reverse.

Even the spilt blood on the floor flew up and seeped into her body, the cuts fading away. It was eerily similar to the skill used by the Ouroboros Serpent.

She wasn't the only one who paused though. The Golden Growler also took a moment to rest and recover from the injuries across its body.

Although it seemed like they were at a stalemate, Executioner Green was actually ahead. She had already recovered while the Golden Growler only managed to stop its bleeding.

She had not pulled out her trump cards, this wasn't a life or death battle after all. The Golden Growler obviously wouldn't be able to keep up with her, there was no need to rush.

Again they started their tango of cat and mouse, or rather lion and woman. Tyrant couldn't intercept her attacks unless she went for the head of the Golden Growler.

As long as she attacked the legs and ankles, he couldn't risk attacking the lion.

The sky was stuck in a perpetual cycle of darkness. There was no way to tell time in the environment but several hours had passed.

The Golden Growler was panting heavily and bleeding golden blood everywhere. If not for its extreme tenacity and humongous size, it would have already died.

As if planned out beforehand, once Tyrant saw the Golden Growler couldn't hold on any longer it jumped off its back and landed heavily on the ground.

The fifteen meter Minotaur wielded a long halberd that seemed to distort the space around it.

The Golden Growler shrunk to a small size and began licking its injuries. The Time Ape lay on its back motionless.

"Why are you stopping me! Are you friends with the gorilla or something?" Executioner Green asked, but Tyrant stood still without responding.

For over a minute, the two of them stared down against each other, nobody making the first move.

They were both stalling for time.

Suddenly, Tyrant's hold on the halberd grew firm. With a turn and a massive swing, he sent a sharp ray attack towards the Golden Growler.

At the exact same time, Executioner Green disappeared with a blue light and appeared on top of the Growler, where the Time Ape was.

Her face changed, as she blocked with the black katana, emitting a green wave that slowed down everything in the vicinity.

There was no shockwave.

Instead, the fan-shaped attack from Tyrant sent Executioner Green flying off into the distance.

"Damn you!"

With a scream, she redirected the attack which went on to slice off a nearby mountain top.

She landed on the ground and began panting. Attacking the Time Ape or Golden Growler would only leave her open to the retaliation of the Minotaur.

If she was careless against that attack just now, she would have lost her life.

Although this wasn't her real body and she would return back when killed, it would be an utter waste.

A waste of a return, because she had not learned anything about this opponent yet.

She would also lose the super gene points she acquired from the Ouroboros Serpent if she returned now.

She couldn't die yet!

Not until she figured out the attack pattern of the Minotaur and how to kill it.

Executioner Green charges forwards at blistering speed, moving like a streak of green light.

"You're strong, very strong! But doesn't that mean you lack in speed!!"

She went around the Minotaur and jumped, stabbing at its back.

Clang!

The sword in her hand almost broke from the collision.

Tyrant had turned around and deflected her attack just before it hit.

Then for the first time, he responded to her in a deep, unshakeable voice.

"No matter how fast!"

The blade of the halberd was raised.

"Are you quicker than the swing of an arm!"

This wasn't a question but a domineering statement.

As he swung down the Aeonshard, a green ripple appeared greatly slowing his movement and thus momentum.

Despite this though, the attack was too fast for her to dodge.

A white longsword appeared in her hand and she crossed both blades to take the attack.

Bam!

Like a kite with loose strings, she was sent flying away.

The only reason she was still in one piece was because she had slowed down Tyrant's attack by five times.

Still midair, the cracks on the two blades recovered.

The blood rushing to escape her battered body flowed in reverse.

By the time Executioner Green landed, she was back to her peak.

Tyrant's yellow eyes narrowed as he looked at her.

"Troublesome!"

Just as he said so, she vanished in a blue flash.

Reappearing behind him.

Both swords thrusted at his heart.

But-

Tyrant was quicker.

Bian had showed them how to detect disturbances in space.

He had speculated that she inherited some of Executioner Blue's powers.

And he was right.

The instant she teleported, his elbow hurtled back- straight at her head.

"Time Skip!"

Executioner Green turned transparent.

Tyrant's attack phased right through her.

Still midair her swords dug into the black obsidian fur around Tyrant's body.

For the first time since the Strength Overlord was born-

His blood was exposed.

Yet-

Something was wrong.

His machine-like muscles contracted, locking her blade in place.

She couldn't push deeper.

She unsummoned both swords and kicked off him, dodging his retaliation.

But now she knew.

Tyrant was still just a mortal creature.

Because if it could bleed-

It could die!
