Reborn as Lust Master

Chapter 7: The Fire That Never Died

The bed was untouched. The window was shut. His boots were by the wall, exactly where he had left them that morning. But the room didn't feel right.

There was a lingering pulse in the air. Faint ripples of energy that brushed against her skin like threads of invisible silk. Her breath caught in her throat.

Then she noticed the floor — right beneath the chair where Auren had sat earlier.

A strange mark.

Barely visible.

A symbol — etched faintly into the wood. It wasn't carved with a knife, but burned in with precise, magical precision. It pulsed slightly, almost alive, and it made her stomach twist.

> This isn't something Auren would do. This isn't normal.

She stepped closer, crouching to inspect it. As her fingers hovered near the mark, a sharp jolt of heat surged up her arm. She gasped and recoiled.

And just then — a whisper.

Soft, distorted. Like a voice spoken through a dream.

> "Obedience… is peace."

Her heart froze.

She looked around the room quickly, but there was no one. No source for the voice.

> What is happening to you, Auren...?

Selene stood up slowly, eyes narrowed with growing dread.

Her boy — her sweet, quiet Auren — was changing. And she was no longer sure if the person living in this room was even fully him anymore.

But one thing was certain.

He was hiding something.

And he wasn't in the house.

---

Meanwhile…

Far from the quiet hallways of home, deep within the woods behind the estate, Auren stood barefoot beneath a cluster of dark trees. His shirt clung to his sweat-drenched back, his fingers glowing faintly with mental energy.

His eyes were closed. His aura pulsed around him in waves of pressure that pushed away the wind, the insects, even the sound of the night.

He had been testing the limits of his new powers.

Breathing heavily, he opened his eyes.

"They won't control me. Not anymore."

He looked at his hand — the glow fading now.

"Not even her."

---

The moon had reached its peak, casting silver light through the trees like ghostly fingers. Auren stood alone, still surrounded by the eerie silence of the forest. The wind moved unnaturally — bending around him, as if avoiding his presence.

Then, a sensation.

Auren's breath slowed.

> Someone's watching me.

He turned his head slightly, his eyes narrowing into the shadows beyond the trees. His aura rippled — his body instinctively flaring with psychic energy. The air grew heavy.

And then he saw it.

A dark figure, cloaked, standing just beyond the clearing. Unmoving. Watching.

No face. No voice. Just presence.

Auren took one step forward — but the figure faded like smoke, vanishing into the wind.

> A watcher…? Or a hunter?

He clenched his fists, his mind swirling. Whoever it was, they had sensed his awakening.

> I need to be stronger.

But strength alone wouldn't be enough. He needed answers.

He closed his eyes, focusing inward. He reached deeper into his consciousness — into memory.

And there… buried beneath layers of shadows and mental fog… something opened.

---

Inside the Mind

Auren stood in a memory — a hallway lit by sunlight, filtered through stained-glass windows. The smell of flowers. The sound of laughter.

He was ten again. Small. Powerless.

And then — the laughter stopped.

A door slammed. A woman screamed.

His mother.

Her name flooded back into his mind like a lost melody.

Lyria.

Soft eyes, a warm voice. A mother who once made him feel like the world was good.

He ran toward the sound in the memory — and what he saw froze his soul.

His father, Caius, standing over Lyria, his face cold. And beside him… Selene.

Smiling.

A knife. Blood. His mother's final breath.

Selene's voice, sharp and clear even across the years:

> "Now no one stands in our way."

The memory shattered like glass.

---

Back in the Present

Auren gasped and stumbled, falling to his knees in the forest soil, sweat pouring from his brow.

> They killed her.

Selene… planned it all.

And I was just a child... useless… forgotten.

But something stirred within him now. Something primal. A flame that had been waiting for the truth.

Revenge.

He stood slowly, eyes glowing faintly. His jaw clenched.

> No more hesitation.

---

Home – Moments Later

Auren stepped through the door. The warmth of the house greeted him — but it no longer felt like home.

Selene stood at the center of the hall, arms crossed. Her face was pale.

She had been waiting.

Without a word, she raised her hand — and behind her, Mira appeared, dragged by the wrist.

Selene's voice was calm. Too calm.

"I asked her questions. Nicely, at first," she said, narrowing her eyes. "Then I made her answer."

Mira's face was streaked with tears.

"She told me everything."

Auren didn't flinch. "And what did you find out?"

Selene's expression twisted with betrayal.

"You had sex with her. My maid. Right under my roof."

Auren's voice remained cold. "That's not all you should be angry about."

Selene tilted her head, curious.

"Oh? Do tell."

Auren stepped forward. "I remembered everything."

Silence.

"About my real mother. Lyria. About how she died. How you helped kill her."

Selene stared at him, expression unreadable.

Then, slowly, a smirk crept onto her face.

"So… you know."

She took a step toward him, voice like venom.

"I was wondering when your memories would return. You've been looking at me differently lately."

Her eyes gleamed.

"Yes, I planned your mother's death. She was weak. Caius and I deserved better. And now—"

She reached behind the table.

"Now you'll meet your sultry, treacherous mother again."

Her hand emerged with a gleaming knife.

Auren didn't move.

Selene lunged.

But before she could get close, Auren whispered, "Obedience Seal."

A wave of psychic energy burst from his body, striking Selene like lightning. Her entire form froze mid-motion. The knife clattered to the floor.

Her eyes widened in shock. Her body trembled, then slowly straightened against her will.

Her face twisted in confusion.

"What… what did you do to me?"

Auren stepped closer, his voice like ice.

"Your mind… now belongs to me."

Selene's lips trembled. Her body wouldn't respond.

"You wanted to kill me," he said. "Just like you killed her."

His eyes blazed.

"But this time, you won't get what you want."
