Chapter 20: Chapter 20: Country and Alliance
(Hey, do you know nothing in the world can travel faster than the speed of light?)
Someone told me that in my previous life, which was true… but that was in that world. Here…
After the mock battle, I am sitting in the church with the prince. I am on my couch, while he sits in front of me. Some knights stand beside him, and many Beastmans are outside watching.
"Sorry for asking you for a mock battle out of nowhere. I was just testing how strong the Heaven God is," Aurthor said.
I didn't say anything—just sat there and listened to him.
"You know why I gave up in the middle of the battle?" he asked.
I looked at him and, in a small, soft voice, replied,
"No."
He slowly took his sword out, placed it in the middle, and spoke.
"This is the Sword of Steller. It was made from a Greater Dragon's shell and enchanted by the former strongest mage. This sword is known as the strongest sword ever made. And when you punched it, it got damaged. At that moment, I realized your power... If that punch had landed on me, I would have died instantly."
As I heard that, I got confused and, in my mind, asked,
(Hey Aries, is he telling the truth?)
[Positive.] Aries replied.
I was shocked when Aries said that.
"I know you weren't trying to kill me because you weren't even trying to fight during the mock battle," Aurthor continued.
"And I'm surprised that you could react to my attacks. I think I should change my title of Fastest Alive, hahaha," he said with a laugh.
"No," I replied in a soft tone.
"I was just able to react to your attack because of my skill. In terms of movement speed, I can't win against you."
He listened to what I said and replied,
"Skill, huh… I wonder how many strong skills you have."
I stayed silent.
Aurthor looked at me, then said,
"The real reason I'm here is to invite you into a friendship relationship."
"A friendship relationship?" I asked.
"Yes. It's an apology for the attack done by Army Captain Haijo… We know that you have every right to retaliate against us, and we don't want that to happen. So, we want you to join us as an ally," Aurthor replied.
"Ally…? But currently, we don't have anything to give in return," I said.
"I know. Your place is just in its starting state, so it's understandable. We don't ask for anything in return right away," Aurthor replied.
He slowly looked back at the church gate, then turned back to me and said,
"And I think our nation would love to buy your beautiful clothes in the future, as well as your fruits. You grow so many new fruits that the outside world doesn't know about."
I listened to him and started to think.
"So, what do you say?" Aurthor asked with a smile.
I started to think.
(He's right. Clothes that don't exist in this world might sell for a good price, and the fruits—those will go even higher. Allying with them can provide us with things that will help our development too.)
Then, I decided. I nodded and replied,
"Alright, I'll accept it."
Aurthor smiled and replied,
"Thank you very much."
Then he brought his hand forward for a handshake. I slowly reached out and shook his hand.
"Oh! And one more thing," he said.
"Since your place is very far, we can't add it to our nation. Why don't you register the Island of TEOD as your own country?"
I listened to him and asked,
"As a country...?"
"Yes, that would be good. Otherwise, others will think of this place as a Death Island, and we can also say we are forming an alliance with the country of the Heaven God itself," Aurthor replied.
"Hmm, I see… But how can I do that?" I asked.
"You don't need to worry about that. I will go to the Supremes and ask them to accept your place as a country. All I need is a name for your country," he said.
"A name, huh…" I started to think. A name came to mind, and with a smile, I said,
"Paradise Garden."
Aurthor listened and replied with a smile,
"Paradise Garden… That's a good name."
He stood up and said,
"Alright, I should be going now.
I'm glad that I met you, Lady Sumi," he said with a smile.
After that, he returned with his knights and flew away in their Fubokos.
I stayed in my church, sitting on my couch. The mayor beside me spoke.
"Lady Sumi, that's an excellent choice. Now, we won't be kicked out of our land and our home. I thank you very much for that."
I sighed and said,
"Guess I won't be resting much now."
Then, suddenly, Aries spoke.
[Notice: There is something important I want to say.]
(Huh? Important?) I asked.
[Positive. It's about your mana.] Aries replied.
(My mana?) I asked.
[Yes. Do you remember Mana Recycle?] Aries asked.
(Oh, that skill that increases my mana every second?) I said.
[Yes. It looks like I made a mistake when explaining that skill.] Aries replied.
(Mistake?) I asked.
[Yes. When I told you about that skill, you were in your early evolution form. At that time, your body was constantly generating mana, and I mistook it for Mana Recycle. But when you gained a humanoid body, your body stopped generating mana. However, when you used magic, your mana grew. So, I did more research and found out that something else was increasing your mana.] Aries explained.
(I see… So, what is it? A skill?) I asked.
[Positive. You have three mana cores inside you:
1. Active Mana
2. Mana Duplicator
3. Mana Recycle
In your Active Mana core, you have the mana you use to cast magic.
But when you use mana for any magic, instead of running out of mana, your used mana goes into the Mana Recycle core.
In the Mana Recycle core, the used mana gets recycled and becomes usable again. That usable mana is then sent to the Mana Duplicator core.
In the Mana Duplicator core, the recycled mana gets duplicated and increases by ×2.
For example: 1 × 2 = 2.
That duplicated mana then returns to the Active Mana core.
And just like that, the process repeats again and again.] Aries explained.
I listened to her and then replied,
(I see. Thanks for letting me know.)
[Positive. Sorry for making that mistake.] Aries said.
(No, it's fine. I'm here because of your guidance. It doesn't matter if you make mistakes sometimes because I trust you more than anything.) I replied.
[...]
Then, suddenly, from the door, Bokkon appeared and said,
"Lady Sumi!!! We are going to have a feast in celebration of our country and our alliance with the Kingdom of Great Steller! We are waiting for you!!"
I listened to him, then slowly stood up and walked outside the door. Many Beastmans were there, eating meat, fruits, and enjoying themselves.
I looked up at the sky and said,
"Guess life as a flower isn't that bad…"
