Reincarnated As A Lion In Another World

Chapter 321: FOR HARMONY

"I'm here…" Kael spoke into the telepathic network that connected all the herd members on his side within the herd.

The effects of his announcement were to be revealed soon after, but in the meantime, Kael renewed his focus on his army.

Multicolored magic lines appeared in his body to form different runes. His golden eyes became imbued with the light of red and blue intertwined within them.

Kael channeled his magic powers, activating several runes in his body. But they weren't for him.

The magic runes vanished from his body, extending out and transforming into thousands of golden magic circles that floated and revolved around Kael.

Kael looked divine with so many golden magic runes surrounding him. Like a celestial about to bestow judgment on the world.

The magic runes shot out, swimming through the air to land on different creatures belonging to his army.

The thousands of horde creatures were hit by their respective golden magic circle, stunning them and causing them to momentarily be blinded by the bright light.

Even Katari who had been hiding in between two spatial folds was hit by one of these magic circles. Everyone in Kael's army received a magic circle.

Instantly, they all began to shine in a faint gold light, the was magic enhanced by Conquering Essence.

The purpose of the magic circles Kael had cast was to enhance everyone's abilities and defense by a few percent. It wasn't much, but it would make a difference. This act alone has depleted most of Kael's magic energy reserves.

So now, he was low on spirit energy and magic energy. Both of which were very useful at any time. He would have to make do with the rest he had.

Now that he thought of it, what would he have done if he didn't have all these various powers at his disposal?

It was better not to think of such hard times that may never come.

Two large wings unfolded on Kael's back, signalling to everyone that it was time to move.

At the center of the herd, everything seemed peaceful here. Apart from the ongoing subtle conflict that had been plaguing the place for some time now, everywhere seemed rather…unassuming.

All the grass eaters were eating their grass in silence, that was what they were here to do in the first place. There was even a mother buffalo that was in the process of giving birth at the moment.

A newborn calf was slowly being pushed out of her body from behind, along with disgusting pieces of feces and placenta. The head of the calf was the first to come out of the flesh birthing hole, followed by the neck, then the shoulders.

The soon-to-be mother buffalo roared in pain as she pushed out with sufficient might. Soon a new calf would be born…

"THE GOLDEN LION WILL SAVE US!!!"

A shocking telepathic cry resounded out and entered the unguarded minds of the nearby herd members. The words of the shouter definitely stunned many as they tried to process the meaning of the words.

However, they had just begun to think when more shouts were heard.

"THE KING IS HERE!"

"OUR SAVIOUR HAS ARRIVED!"

"THE LION KING WILL BRING PEACE TO THE WORLD!"

"FOR HARMONY!"

"DEATH TO THE RESISTANCE!"

"FOOD CHAIN LOVERS MUST DIE!"

Different shouts were being heard as a strange spirit energy began to rise into the sky. Different herd members began to wear a certain spirit signature that was completely foreign to most of them yet also familiar.

The words that came from the minds of these shouting creatures left them flabbergasted. Since when could harmony and lion be said in the same context?

Amidst the confusion, the mother buffalo that was still in her childbearing period was also panicking. Different herd members were moving fast around her and her own buffalo herd members that she knew were not around to protect her.

She turned around slightly just to feel something being torn out of her birthing hole. Her eyes widened in horror as the calf was suddenly replaced with a ghostly absence.

Her back felt lighter, but this didn't give her joy. She turned around, hoping to see that her calf was lying on the ground and nothing had happened to it.

Alas, what she saw nearly gave her a heart attack.

Her calf was being trampled on by a blue-striped zebra. This zebra had blue electric arcs swimming around his limbs and body like lightning snakes, electrifying the air around him.

The zebra brayed with rage, stomping repeatedly on the calf which was already dead by now. Its neck was crushed and the ribs were punctured. Added to all the paralyzing jolts flowing through its body, the calf was deader than dead.

The buffalo mother stared blankly for a second, not knowing how to react. The pandemonium happening around her paled and the noise faded out completely. All she could see was the blue-striped zebra trampling on her dead calm and all she could hear was a deafening ringing noise.

And then, she reacted. She let out a deranged moo, charging at the zebra and aiming her horns at the child killer.

However, she had barely moved a few meters when something slammed heavily into her side.

She was just an ordinary buffalo, not superpowered. Whatever had slammed into her side left some broken bones. She fell to the ground with a resounding thud, feeling the two piercing wounds on her abdomen.

Landing on the ground and stirring up a cloud of dust, she was able to see that she had been hit by another buffalo, a bull. She was confused, weren't they of the same race?

What could possibly make him turn against her at this moment? Couldn't he see that zebra stomping ruthlessly on her calf? Why?... This chapter was uploaded by the team at M|VLEMPYR.

She felt more pain in her heart than she felt physically. Compared to the anguish she was feeling, every other injury just paled and felt insignificant.

How long had she carried that calf in her womb? Only for it to be killed as soon as it was born.

She didn't even get to check whether it was a male or female.

The bull that had slammed her down walked over to her slowly. Hot steam shot out of his nose and every step he took closer to her made her feel intense heat.

He was a buffalo that had newly awakened his heart. His fur, which was a mix of black and red, stuck closely to his skin.

"You…" The buffalo said with disdain in his eyes, "You refused to join us, I asked you and you refused to join us!

You wish to see our world still plagued by cursed meat eaters?" The buffalo said with holy rage in his eyes.

It was now that the buffalo mother recognized this bull. Earlier, he had come to her and had been spouting some jargon about Harmony and how the world could be made a better place if she just followed the plan of the one true lion savior.

Back then, she was still pregnant and looking for a safe place to give birth. She wasn't that smart, nor was she paying attention to the details of what the bull had to say.

She had just assumed the bull was in heat and was looking for someone to have sexual intercourse with. How wrong she was.

Her repeated dismissal of the bull's careful explanation had earned her his ire and he had vowed to find her and deal with her once the signal was received.

So while he had been dismissed by her, he had stayed close, waiting for the perfect opportunity to strike and satiate his bruised ego.

She had made him look like a fool.

"Who's the fool now?" He asked as he stepped closer, "The world will end, and the golden lion shall renew it into one filled with harmony and no meat eaters.

The meat eaters have been cursed, that's why they desire our flesh to sustain themselves. Don't you want them to be free from their curse?"

The bull had turned into a complete fanatic, interpreting the illusions and doctrines the best way he could so that it would make sense to him.

Of course, there was no evidence that what he was claiming was true and it couldn't be falsified. But that wasn't his problem, he had chosen to believe and he would stand by his belief even if it meant becoming a martyr.

It was astounding what Kael had achieved with a pseudo religion by spouting nonsense that went against common sense but sounded sensible to the herd.

Alas, herd mentality, predators would never believe such nonsense, that's why they're predators.

The buffalo raised his front hoof high, positioning it above the head of the fallen ex-mother buffalo.

"No need to answer that, you won't be alive to see the glory of the golden lion anyway…"

Then he smashed his hoof down, shattering the skull of the mother buffalo.

This was just the start of the chaos, Kael was yet to strike.
