Reincarnated as incubus: I didn't mean to seduce you!

Chapter 141 Lily: Kael, you can't engrave patterns there! (10.8k, 9/68)_6

"The War Mage System, I believe, could become a popular direction for future Mage professions. Perhaps it would be worthwhile to research it."

"One could seek out Lord Kael's thoughts on it. I see Lord Kael as someone who wouldn't keep the War Mage System to himself."

...

Kael's expression remained unchanged as he listened to the faint sounds around him.

It was only when this public lecture neared its end, and the teachers and students began to leave, that he greeted Mr. Luxius and turned to exit the amphitheater.

Just as he was about to leave, he suddenly heard someone calling his name from behind.

Kael looked back and saw it was the young man who had asked him a question during the class.

He stopped in his tracks. Earlier during the class, he had told the young man that if he wanted to know more about Necromancy Magic, they could have a proper talk.

But as the student approached him, Kael, listening to his heavy breathing, said:

"In such a rush to understand the specifics of Necromancy Magic?"

To his surprise, the boy shook his head, turned to look earnestly at Kael, bowed deeply, and said loudly:

"Teacher Kael, please take me on as your student!"

Kael paused then shook his head in refusal, "I still have a long way to go myself; how could I possibly take on a student?"

The young man nodded, and Kael thought he would give up, but instead he said:

"I've heard that recently the Mage Academy has been recruiting students willing to voluntarily join the War Mage training program. If I sign up for the program, will you be involved in teaching it?"

Kael nodded.

He had no need to hide anything about that matter.

Hearing what Kael had said, the young man heaved a sigh of relief and stated:

"In that case, I will sign up later. Please, Teacher Kael, guide me when the time comes."

Clearly having no reason to refuse, Kael watched him quietly and seriously said:

"The training base for War Mages is in Lancaster, far from the Royal Capital. Are you truly willing to give up the comfortable life in the Royal Capital and go to the frontier for training?"

Seemingly curious about the student, Kael added, "Once the first War Mage squad is formed, you will be deployed directly to the Dungeon for real combat.

The students we have previously selected are generally older, high-level Mages who have no hope of advancing further in the academy. You're what, a third or fourth-year student?"

The young man nodded, "I'm a fourth-year student in Necromancy."

"You're too young. It's not that I'm against you choosing to be a Battle Mage, but I'm afraid you haven't thoroughly considered your future path before hastily making a decision.

If you can discuss it with your family and you're sure you want to come, I won't stop you."

The young man nodded again but shook his head with a look of dejection, "There's no one left to discuss it with."

Kael looked at him, didn't try to dissuade him further, just patted his shoulder and said:

"Then from today on, you'll need to learn to take responsibility for yourself."

Having said that, he didn't linger and strode away.

Since the young man had made his decision, Kael wouldn't say anything more.

Too much of anything is not good.

Just like if your best friend and girlfriend are arguing, you can analyze the rights and wrongs from the sidelines and at most add, "If it were me, I might choose XX," but you shouldn't be the one to decide whether your friend and his girlfriend should reconcile or break up.

If things went smoothly, fine, but if there were complications along the way, when people look back, they wouldn't first blame themselves for being misled but would quietly resent you for meddling.

In the face of someone completely unreasonable, it could even lead to outright hostility.

Therefore, in such significant decision-making junctures in life, he never makes choices for others. What to choose should indeed be your own decision to make, bearing all the consequences yourself.

...

As Kael was about to go down the stairs, he suddenly paused, not leaving the floor right away but lingering for a while.

Senior Sister Lily had asked him to wait for her a little bit earlier.

The amphitheater had been too crowded and noisy, and he didn't want to stay longer. Now that he was out, and remembering the request, he slowed his pace to see if Senior Sister Lily would catch up.

She knew that if Kael were to leave, he would surely head toward the library and that this path was inevitable for him.

If she didn't come after him, he would go back and look for her.

Sure enough, it wasn't long before he heard the sound of footsteps hurrying after him.

Lily rushed around the corner, and upon seeing Kael, stopped. The glow flickering around her vanished instantly as she said somewhat sheepishly: Find exclusive stories on empire

"Why did you leave so soon?"

Kael shook his head, "Didn't I wait for you?"

Lily paused, stepped forward, and Kael glanced at her, "There was no need to use Magic Enhancement to catch up."

"Hehehe," Lily chuckled, saying nothing more; she certainly couldn't admit she was afraid Kael might suddenly disappear, could she?
