Chapter 28: Chapter 28: The Irregular Twin
Kaito had finally completed his training, and the time had come for him to return to his world. He was eager to see how the preparations for the upcoming dungeon competition were going and to welcome the guests from various nations. However, just as he was about to leave, God suddenly spoke to him.
"Kaito, there is a favor I want to ask of you."
Kaito turned to face God, curiosity flickering in his golden eyes. "A favor? What kind of favor?"
God hesitated for a moment before sighing. "Well… there was another person who died alongside you by accident."
Kaito's eyes widened slightly. "Someone else? Who?"
God raised his hand, and in an instant, a figure appeared beside him. The young man had black hair, black eyes, and was dressed in modern clothing—blue jeans, a black t-shirt, and a white button-up shirt layered over it. He looked completely out of place in this divine realm.
God sighed heavily before continuing. "This person… is an irregular."
Kaito frowned. "What do you mean by that?"
God took a deep breath. "You have learned that when someone dies, their soul enters the cycle of reincarnation. Their past memories are sealed so they don't recall their previous lives. However, this person is different. His soul has no seal. He has lived more than a million lifetimes and remembers all of them."
Kaito was stunned. "He remembers everything?"
God nodded. "Yes. Not only that, but he is also stronger than me. In fact, he is stronger than all gods combined. When he died by accident, I summoned both his and your souls. But when I saw his soul, I didn't know what to do. In a moment of panic, I tried to reincarnate him immediately."
Kaito listened intently. "And what happened?"
God sighed again. "He revived himself. On his own."
Kaito's eyes widened in shock. "He can do that?!"
"Yes. His powers are beyond comprehension. Because he has lived so many lives and faced death countless times, he no longer experiences emotions like normal people. More than ninety percent of his past lives were tragic. He has endured more suffering than anyone can imagine."
Kaito took a moment to process this information. "I understand that his soul has no seal, but how can he be stronger than all the gods combined?"
God hesitated before answering. "You can say he is an exception. His soul was already like this from the beginning. Even gods are wary of his existence, and… well, he has killed gods before."
Kaito frowned deeply. "Killed gods? But I thought gods couldn't die."
God nodded. "That is generally true. But there are always ways to make the impossible possible. The gods he killed were those who abused their powers, those who didn't do their jobs. In that sense, I don't believe he did anything wrong."
Kaito still felt uneasy but understood the situation. "So… what does this have to do with me?"
God hesitated again before speaking. "He has requested to accompany you to your world… as your twin brother."
Kaito blinked in surprise. "Twin brother? What do you mean?"
God continued. "I have placed numerous seals on him to restrict his power. Even with these seals, he is already stronger than all the gods. Due to his past experiences, he has lost his ability to feel emotions like ordinary people. I want you to help him regain them."
Kaito turned to the young man and studied him carefully. "What's his name?"
A floating screen appeared in front of him, displaying the name Renji. However, the young man remained silent.
Kaito frowned. "Why isn't he talking?"
God sighed. "One of the seals prevents him from speaking. If he were to speak freely, whatever he said would become reality. Each time he dies and reincarnates, his abilities become unstable. I had to place several restrictions on him."
Kaito observed Renji more closely and noticed something unusual about his leg. "Why does it look like you've sealed him so much that he can't even move properly?"
God nodded. "His movements are restricted as well. If he were to move freely, his speed alone could shatter the barriers between worlds. Even now, he is far beyond human limits."
Just then, a small floating creature resembling a fairy appeared beside Renji. "Don't worry! I'll be keeping an eye on him!" she chirped. "I'm Pixie, his companion. I know everything about him—what makes him angry, what calms him down—so you don't have to worry about him losing control."
Kaito glanced at Pixie before shifting his gaze back to Renji. "How long has he been here?"
God replied, "He was supposed to stay here for four days, but because your training took place in a realm where time was frozen, very little time has passed in your world. However, there is one thing you must be cautious of."
Kaito's golden eyes gleamed as he listened. "What is it?"
"The warning he received during his training."
Kaito narrowed his eyes but nodded in understanding. God then waved his hand, restoring Kaito's appearance to how it was before his training.
"Remember, Kaito," God continued, "do not overuse your divine powers in your world. It could disrupt the balance. And as for Renji, he will be your assistant from now on."
Kaito sighed. "Assistant, huh?"
God gave a small smile. "And one last thing… he has been given the title God of Nothingness."
With that, Kaito prepared to return to his world, now with an unexpected and overwhelmingly powerful twin brother by his side.
