Chapter 82
“What do you plan to do next?”
Eve took the cup from me and asked about our next move.
“Hmm… I don’t think we need to go outside anymore today.”
It’s an awkward time to start any outdoor activities now.
“Aren’t we going back to the city?”
“Even if we do, staying in The World is much more comfortable.”
Honestly, my personal domain, The World, is far more convenient than any inn in town. The temperature inside is controlled by Eve, always kept at an ideal level for me. I also have a pile of books I bought for entertainment, so I’m never bored.
Food isn’t an issue either. With the [Farm] and [Ranch], I have access to all kinds of ingredients, so there’s really no need to return to town unless it’s for shopping or business transactions.
“Besides, since it’s a good opportunity, I thought I’d clean up the house we took over the day before yesterday.”
I had a quick look inside yesterday and noticed some pillars and walls were damaged. But with a bit of reinforcement, it would be livable. While I couldn’t repair the damage, I could at least use [Clean] to get rid of any dirt and grime. If I clean it up now, we should be able to stay there tonight.
I made my way toward the house located at the edge of the [Ranch].
“Alright, even with [Clean], this is a pretty big house, so it’ll take some time.”
The house I acquired is essentially an 8LLDDKK—something like a two-family home in my previous life. Instead of a two-story structure, it has separate living rooms and kitchens on either side of the house. In this world, only fairly wealthy people can afford such a home.
“I was going to ask Eve to help, but…”
She had left earlier, saying, “I sensed something outside that I need to check on.” Since she can also use core abilities like me, her help would have made things much easier. But she had looked quite serious, so I didn’t stop her.
“I can still use [Amplify] today, right?”
According to the explanation, I should be able to use it up to three times a day. The [Amplify] ability enhances the effects of blessings and skills. Just like how [Flight] turned into [Soar], allowing me to fly at near-supersonic speeds, amplifying [Clean] might let me cleanse the entire house in one go.
“Since this ability boosts effects, it shouldn’t cause any structural damage to the house.”
With that thought, I activated [Clean] with [Amplify]…
“So… this is the result?”
As I slumped to the ground, Eve had returned at some point, now looking down at me with an exasperated expression.
“Ah… yeah. I’m ridiculously exhausted…”
When I used the ability, I felt my magic being drained at an alarming rate from deep inside my body. My total magic capacity is supposed to be quite high, and I’ve never been this drained before. This ability is clearly on a different level.
“That makes sense. Let me project the ability’s description for you.”
As if she already knew, Eve projected the explanation of my skill as usual:
[Repair] – Restores the target object to its original condition. Requires the user’s magic. Cannot be used on living beings.
“Ah, I see now…”
In front of me stood a perfectly clean house. But not just clean—it was…
“Completely brand new. All the cracks and even the smallest damages have been completely fixed.”
Yes, I had unknowingly restored the entire house to a pristine, newly built state using my own power.
“Repairing objects consumes a lot of magic. Even you would get exhausted fixing something this large and old.”
The [Repair] ability restores objects. That means weapons and armor could also be repaired to like-new condition. If that’s the case, maintenance would no longer be an issue.
Even though it drained me, the fact that I could fully restore an old house this large with just some effort proves how useful this ability is.
“So, you’re back. Did you find out anything?”
After stepping inside, I sat down on the sofa in the reception room. Eve took a seat on the sofa opposite me.
“Yes, everything is clear now. I returned to report it to you, Master.”
She leaned forward excitedly and…
“I discovered an untouched wild dungeon halfway up the mountain. Let’s explore it tomorrow, Master.”
She flashed me a dazzling smile that left me momentarily captivated.
