Pyuku was acting strange, and Aquarina was worried, but she tried to understand what he said, and then she explained it to Justicio and Silvia, letting them learn better about what Pyuku's thought process was at this moment.

It seemed that the slime boy thought that the Doppelgangers and the other Slimes were somewhat related, perhaps even in the same family, or that maybe there was something darker within this all.

They turned to Khepri at the end, the one that had revealed to them all these secrets to begin with… Because Pyuku was having second thoughts about these monsters, he even had requested everyone to not kill them… yet.

"I want to analyze their composition a bit more…" he said. "I know they're monsters that seem to be unable to reason with us at the end but… Just let me see something."

He sat down there, staring at them with his eyes, for many minutes, perhaps hours to come doing the same thing…

"Okaaay… I guess the kid's not letting us, huh?" wondered Khepri. "I honestly don't know more than what I said before but, okay, let me just get my other ornament and I might get more data and learn new stuff."

"Sure, how do we do it though?" Silvia wondered. "It's a huge golden cube!"

"Like I did before," Khepri floated above the cube, touching it and infusing it with her spiritual energy.

FLAAASH!

Suddenly, various golden circuits expanded through the entire cube, rapidly beginning to spread and glow brightly. As the circuits expanded, the golden cube started to expand and open.

And inside, it revealed something, a piece of large mechanical equipment, a robot, or golem perhaps, of black, silver, and golden metal.

It was imbued with various red and purple jewels, and it overflowed with a powerful otherworldly energy.

And while the first ornament had the shape of a scarab originally before taking the humanoid form, this one…

It resembled a large mechanical scorpion!

"There it is! My ornament!"

Khepri flew inside of it, activating it instantly, the giant scorpion of over two meters of height and several more meters of length started walking, making loud noises.

"It's moving well and it's working great!" Khepri said. "And- Ooohhhh?!"

She suddenly fell silent after saying that out of nowhere!

"Um, Khepri?"

The kids remained in silence for a moment, as Khepri was processing the information she gained from having fused with the scorpion robot.

And then, once she was done…

FLUOSH!

The scorpion turned into light and disappeared the same way the other did, being "stored" within her own spiritual soul.

"…Yeah, I got the data now and I learned… quite a lot of stuff."

"Did you?" Aquarina asked. "Um…"

She glanced at Pyuku who also was looking at Khepri.

"So… Uh, did you see something related with the aliens and the slimes?"

"…Yeah."

"Okay, just tell us what you saw," Aquarina said.

"Yeah, just go with it!" Silvia said.

"The faster this gets out, the better, honestly," Justicio agreed.

"Dammit… Okay, okay, but don't get mad at me okay?" said Khepri. "I'll tell you everything I know, Pyuku. And you're… not going to like it, so get ready."

"Okay…"

Pyuku and the rest of the friends gathered around a bonfire Aquarina had set up, where she started cooking a delicious stew with tomatoes, potatoes, carrots, some onion, garlic, and a lot of little cubes of all sorts of meats she had stashed away.

It was a quick and easy meat, and potatoes stew that Sylphy always did whenever they wanted to eat something warm and delicious that could be made easily.

Of course, her Sylphy's cooking couldn't compare to hers, but she was doing her best.

As the delicious smell of the meat and potatoes boiling together in the juice mixed with the meat stock and the boiling water and potato sauce, everyone glanced at Khepri.

"Okay, so from what I've learned… Yes, indeed, the Doppelgangers are related to the Slimes of… of today," said Khepri. "Though I'm fairly sure they're very rare."

"Yeah," nodded Pyuku. "From what I know, there was only one group of slimes where I came from, the Demon Continent. However, the Floating Continent of Cloudia had three whole tribes, pretty surprising right? They had been hiding there because that continent is very ancient and was once inhabited by the gods… there are a lot of things… things they left behind."

"That's… Yeah, I know about Cloudia to an extent," Khepri nodded. "Well, uh, the Doppelgangers are indeed related to the Slimes. As I said before, remember when I mentioned that the Gods had a grudge against them? Because of how much of a pain in the ass they ended being? The Gods decided to… well, after they managed to overpower and then overwhelm the Doppelgangers, and once they finally had them within their grasp, to punish them. To punish all the descendants of the Doppelgangers that brought so much destruction to them."

"P-Punish?" Aquarina wondered. "What does that even means?"

"It means what I said," said Khepri. "They genetically altered the larvae of the… of the Doppelganger groups that constantly brought chaos to their spaceships and even managed to take down some of them through their copy ability. They reduced their forms, took away their ability to copy DNA, and turned them… into their smallest, most reduced and featureless forms. Their body composition remained the same, but they were modified to reproduce through asexual division and their larvae stages were taken away entirely. They became unable to speak with others, and were used to mostly clean waste materials, trash. They were destined to be nothing but loyal, dumbed down servants, and cleaners, to eat their trash… for eternity."

Aquarina and the rest of the kids remained in silence, realizing the brevity of such a revelation.

"And they called them Slimes…"

The true origin of Slimes, Pyuku's tribe, the weak, yet very honest people that were once servants of the Gods, thrown away after so many years.

"Dammit…" Pyuku muttered, gnashing his teeth. "FUCK!"

He slammed the ground furiously, almost making the stew flip over.
