Reincarnated With A Glitched System: Why Is My MP Not Running Out?

Chapter 1548: The Origins Of Slimes

-----

The revelation to the origin of Slimes and their relationship with the Doppelgangers was more impactful to Pyuku than they imagined that their entire tribe was born out of just an alien race that the Gods decided to torture for eons because they were a challenge to them was… simply ridiculous.

All of the Slimes shortcomings, their inability to speak, their strange bodies, that they seem like they could shapeshift, but couldn't do anything, and even worse, the seal they had that made it unable for them to grow stronger.

"It's all because we were just jokes to them?" Pyuku groaned furiously. "Fuck! This is… hahaha… This is unbelievable… We are even more pathetic than I realized."

"No, Pyuku, you aren't pathetic!" Aquarina said. "You're special already. Very special! Weren't you born from the fusion of your kind? They gave birth to something even more incredible; you surpassed the limitations! Y-You're totally special!"

"It doesn't matter if I'm special if everyone else is suffering from something that they didn't even commit!" Pyuku said. "Why do they have to pay for the sins of their ancestors?! It's not our damn fault!"

"I-I know…" Aquarina sighed. "Sorry…"

"…"

Silvia looked at the two, sighing.

"Yeah whatever, but at the end the Doppelgangers were still very dangerous… I mean the whole punishment thing is bad yeah, but if the gods wouldn't had done that initially, what would have been of you, Pyuku? You wouldn't had even been born, in fact none of your other slime friends would've been born and given the opportunity to live in this world… Which I bet it sure beats to live in the cold outer space, ough…" Silvia muttered.

"T-That's…!" Pyuku complained but then he fell silent. "I… ugh…"

"Look, that happened so long ago that getting overly upset about it is just kind of… not really a good thing," said Justicio. "But I get what you feel. I kind of hate the Gods at this point but… they're all the way in the freaking sky and stuff, no way we could ever get to them, even worse give them a good smacking."

"Well, uh, maybe Sylphy could one day achieve it…" said Aquarina. "And obviously I will too… then we can bring you along, Pyuku. So we can talk directly with those bastards and beat them to death. How about it?"

"Aquarina…" Pyuku sighed, giggling a bit. "Thanks for trying to cheer me up, everyone… I get it, I guess… I guess that's how it is. Ugh… The Doppelgangers are still too dangerous, and primitive beings. Leaving them here would only endanger the village. I'll take care of them."

"How so?" Aquarina asked. "Are you sure that's…!"

"Yeah, it's fine," Pyuku smiled.

He walked into the spring and then glanced at all the larvae, the beautiful, alien translucent mushroom-like creatures, staying still, waiting for something to pass by.

"You've waited enough… How about we go on a journey together, my ancestors?"

He smiled gently, although there was some melancholy on his eyes, his entire body expanded tremendously, becoming a sea of blue slime.

The filled the entire area, as every single mushroom-shaped larva was absorbed by him, assimilated into his own slime.

"Pyuku…"

Aquarina felt strange as she saw this…

Was Pyuku eating them, or absorbing them into his body?

It was weird and couldn't be really understood, maybe one of the two, or both.

"It's done…"

Pyuku walked out of the spring, feeling tired.

"I'm exhausted…"

"A-Are you okay? are you sure that was the correct thing to do?"

Aquarina was still doubtful but…

"Yeah, they're living within me. I didn't eat them, don't worry."

"R-Really? I had no idea you could do that…"

"Slimes can combine, just like I was born, and how that chimera thing we fought before was the merge of various of them. I did it forcefully, but they couldn't reject me anyway, as they were only weak larvae."

"It doesn't feel weird?" Silvia asked, very curious.

"Nah, I'm good," Pyuku said. "If anything, these children will be able to see the world with me. And be forever by my side. As the strongest slime, and the one that might live for eternity, I will carry on their wills, bodies, and souls with me."

"I see…" Justicio nodded, smiling a bit. "Well, I'm glad we could solve things peacefully. And, uh, sorry for eating…"

"It's fine, they were already dead anyways…" Pyuku nodded. "I also ate them, and… despite the slight remorse I feel now, they were delicious."

"Sorry still," Aquarina said.

"I said it's fine," Pyuku smiled, feeling strangely… calmer than before. "Let's eat and have a good meal, I'm tired."

Although he hadn't revealed his friends about this, something within him had slightly awakened.

No, it wasn't that he would become some monstrous alien.

It was something else…

Memories, collective memories.

Of the hivemind within the Doppelgangers.

Images of stars.

Of galaxies.

Of different planets.

Images of different lifeforms.

Thousands, after thousands, after thousands of them…

Pyuku continued checking these memories one by one, smiling.

"What a beautiful voyage you've gone through… my ancestors."

It somehow brought him incredible inspiration.

Despite it all, despite them being monstrous beings…

They survived.

And they traveled through the stars.

And it was so…

So beautiful for some reason.

Despite it all, despite what they were…

It made him slightly proud.

That he was their descendant.

"It kind of makes me feel rather special now, that my ancestors came from the stars…"

The group was looking at the stars while making their way to Everstone when he Pyuku mentioned this out of the blue.

"Oh? Is that so?" Aquarina giggled, looking at the beautiful starry night sky. "I'm glad you feel that way, Pyuku."

"Yeah…" The slime prince felt calmer, and perhaps, even more mature than before. "I'll let them see many new and beautiful things too. Because these children are now within me."

Aquarina glanced at Pyuku in a different manner than before…

Was he really just a slime at this point?

He spoke in such ways…

It almost made it feel like he was something beyond.

Her eyes widened, as she noticed Pyuku's aura glistening beneath the moonlight.

A hint of divinity dwelled within.
