Chapter 419: Curtains Raised
Thanks to OneManMedia's blabbermouth, the livestream method was unveiled in an untimely manner.
"A paid viewership for livestream… that's a first." Gentle Wind's face twitched.
"If I wasn't participating, then I would have thought it's one of those rated 18 livestream shows that you needed to pay to enjoy." Autumn Breeze added, going into the adult territory.
Despite their commentary, Xu Feng remained rather silent, and his silence was somehow louder than words as OneManMedia finally came to a realization of his mistake.
'Ugh, I was so focused on fixing the livestream settings and blabbered something out when I heard the Guild Leader's words.' OneManMedia cried inwardly.
During their conversation, he had been wholly focused and paid zero attention to his surroundings, so when he was finished. He heard Xu Feng claiming that there would be massive individuals watching the stream.
Thus, he unconsciously voiced his doubt regarding the viewership, unaware that there were two other guests there.
At this moment, OneManMedia felt as if there were numerous daggers flying straight at him, piercing every organ and body part of him.
A few seconds later, Xu Feng sighed softly and confessed the truth now that the cat was out of the bag.
"This isn't good, right?" Gentle Wind furrowed her brows. "Not only is the livestream paid viewers only, but you also forbid any of the winners of the slot to livestream or record themselves."
Right as Gentle Wind finished her statement, realization quickly dawned upon Autumn Breeze.
"Jeez, no wonder you made such a clause. You plan on monopolizing and earning big, forcing those interested in the raid to pay to watch your video." She exclaimed loudly.
Although the contract had yet to be signed, Autumn Breeze was positive that before the raid began, Xu Feng would ensure each and every participating member signed the contract under the System's watch.
By doing so, no one could dream of sneakily recording, given the System would outright detect it and kick them out.
Once that happened, the person who had been kicked out would not only be humiliated, but known to be someone who violated the contract terms openly.
Who would want to be humiliated like that?
Not to mention, who would want to associate with someone like that after such an incident?
"Such shrewdness and scheme…" Gentle Wind's mouth twitched, but then again, knowing Xu Feng's antics, she seemed to realize the truth really wasn't that surprising.
Even when it was him wanting them to do a favor, the benefit they were given was merely a 20 percent discount.
"It's just business." Xu Feng shrugged in response. If he cared about how others viewed him, then he might as well stay hiding away from the rest of the world.
"So, will you give an outlook or not. It's fine if you don't want to, but if your members get killed during the process, I won't hold any responsibility for that." He added, warning them in advance.
If the raid failed because of his failed commands, then yes, he will take responsibility.
However, if it was because of some retards or people who intentionally sabotage, then he'll be damned to take responsibility for that.
They want to blame someone?
Then, by all means, they were free to blame it on the troublemakers.
Amidst their hesitation, Xu Feng was interrupted by Monica once again.
"Boss, there are many people waiting downstairs saying you have requested them to come here to meet with you," Monica reported. "They didn't have any clearance pass, so I could not confirm their validity."
"It's fine, I'll head down there to meet with them." Xu Feng smiled, stood up, and left the room along with Monica.
Sometime later, they arrived at the 2nd floor where many chatterings could be heard. Thankfully, the floor was wide and big, otherwise, the place would have felt extremely cramped.
"Is he the Guild Leader of Vanguard Guild?"
"Why does he wear a mask? Is his face hideous or something?"
"Hmph, typical mask wearer. They are just a menace to society."
Despite their chattering, everyone soon turned silent the moment Xu Feng raised his hand and began his introduction.
"I'm glad that everyone finally arrived after much trouble. Regardless if you were close or far away from here, allow me to thank you for your patience as the Raid Leader." Xu Feng announced loudly.
"Guild Leader Lin Feng is too polite." One of the people in the crowd said humorously.
"Indeed, every Vanguard-owned business really knows how to accommodate guests from afar. Their prices were quite the luxury event." Another one chimed in.
Without a doubt, these people were trying to rile the crowd up and pin the blame on Xu Feng. They were painting him as a ruthless and coldhearted businessman.
After all, not only did Xu Feng not make any discounts for them, but the prices were also increased by a minimum of 20 percent.
Meanwhile, Xu Feng gazed at the two people who had opened their mouths with an amused expression.
'Soulstrider from the Astral Guild and Emberwolf from the Sky Hunter Adventure Team. How generous of the Reaver Guild to send these two people.' He naturally knew who they were.
After all, they were quite the bootlickers in his past timeline whenever they met. They were no different than dogs— no worse than that because regardless if they get benefits or not, they will wag their tails constantly.
Under the gazes of many, Xu Feng remained composed and laughed. "Heh, I'm glad that you all enjoyed the businesses operated by us. They're exclusive items that could not be found anywhere else after all."
"Is that why their charging price is as expensive as 10 gold coins?" Soulstrider snickered.
"And you must be?" Xu Feng feigned ignorance of the player's identity and asked confusingly.
"I'm Soulstrider, representing the Astral Guild."
"Ah, Soulstrider. For a second, I thought your name was Foolstrider." Xu Feng mused.
Before Soulstrider could argue back from the insult, Xu Feng continued, "You're seriously clamoring that 10 gold coins are expensive for an Elemental Warrior Set? Why don't you just pack your bags and resign from your position?" Enjoy exclusive chapters from empire
