Chapter 530: Yeah Sign
As Xu Feng dropped the bomb on Brian, his mind nearly short-circuited.
The fact that Brian didn't even think Xu Feng was lying was what made him crazy.
He had planned so much during the time when the latter was busy in the raid.
He set up numerous barricades and even used the trap formation that cost so many gold coins.
As if he were paranoid, he even made his subordinates check every nook and cranny again and again until he finally saw the stream of Xu Feng completing the dungeon.
With all that planning, Brian was unable to comprehend how he still lost.
"Are your reinforcement using Stealth Cloaks as well?" Brian inquired softly.
"Naturally, otherwise, you would have spotted them on the map already." Xu Feng nodded.
Stupefied, Brian didn't expect him to know about Stealth Cloak early on.
"How do you have such classified information?" He asked, his mouth left agape.
The previous VRMMORPG never had such an item, and Stealth Cloak was like a hidden quest. You must complete a hidden quest to gain it and it isn't something you can purchase— at least not yet in this stage of the game.
With that being said, Brian truly felt frightened at Xu Feng's actual background. The method to obtain a Stealth Cloak was classified as confidential information for now amongst the Super Guild, with only a few First-Rate Guilds that were close to the Super Guild status.
In other words, Xu Feng must have someone in a higher-up position to be privy to such information.
Alas, what Brian failed to consider was the fact that aside from players, there was also another group capable of obtaining it. And they were none other than NPCs that most players continuously neglect, having believed they were just a bunch of codes.
'Hmm, he misunderstood me, but oh well. Not my fault.' Xu Feng had no intention of correcting Brian's conjecture. It was his fault for overthinking too much and attempting to link him to someone else.
"Well, it doesn't matter how I know, but how you're going to proceed with the current situation." Xu Feng chuckled softly, seemingly intrigued at his opponent's next move.
Meanwhile, Brian was stuck in a dilemma.
If he proceeded forward with the siege with the current data, who knows how much more they would suffer? But if he doesn't proceed forward, then their Lethal Corp would truly be dragged through the mud.
Having thought about this part, Brian can't wait to strangle all those intelligence network people to death.
Just how did they even gather information?
'Those people are worthless! Getting such a high pay for this kind of garbage work!' Brian cursed silently.
"Anyway, since I somewhat appreciate your straightforward nature, I'll do you a favor." Amidst Brian's pondering, Xu Feng suddenly offered him an opportunity. Experience more content on My Virtual Library Empire
Dumbfounded, Brian was not naive enough to believe the favor was anything good for him.
Nevertheless, he still asked, "What kind of favor are you talking about?"
"Very simple, I'll annihilate all of you here and rob you of all your equipment. At the same time, you can blame this failure on the intelligence network of your Lethal Corp because you lost due to lack of sufficient information and misinformation."
"..."
Brian was rendered speechless at his so-called favor.
Wasn't that exactly their goal originally?
Yet Xu Feng had somehow swapped the role and now the person being ambushed was Brian and his group.
Taking a deep breath, Brian smiled bitterly and said, "Give me a second to command the others. I hope you only kill us once and not go overboard."
While saying that, Brian seemingly began messaging his people about his decision to adhere to Xu Feng's favor.
Unfortunately, Xu Feng merely snickered coldly in response. "Trying to tell them to retract the formation and buy time for your people. Quite clever, but it's still not good enough."
Not expressing anything on the surface, Brian feigned ignorance and deafness.
The truth was that he was definitely not going to accept such a favor and was planning on saying that to deceive Xu Feng while he prepared for a route of retreat.
After all, as long as they retained their equipment and levels, there would always be another opportunity for an ambush— with much better-informed knowledge.
However, Brian didn't expect Xu Feng to not even fall for it one bit. His pace hastened in trying to warn the rest to begin emergency protocol 1-A.
"Leave none alive!" Xu Feng no longer planned to converse further with the concentrated Brian anymore as he directly commenced the massacre.
"Everyone starts scattering now!"
Right at this moment, Brian quickly shouted, hoping his subordinates wouldn't group together to allow Xu Feng's hidden people to have Multi Kills on them.
As the flock of people from Brian's side started to scatter away, numerous spells and attacks were launched on them. With their speed and numerous people blocking each other, there was barely any space left for them to dodge.
The Mage Classes attempted to raise their barrier in hopes of blocking some of the damage, but it was all futile efforts. The moment the attack touched the barrier lightly, it would immediately crack and shatter in place.
From that scene alone, Brian could tell the attackers' levels and skills were far above his subordinates.
Think of it as a level 1 shield attempting to block a level 30 spell. The level 1 shield would naturally falter instantaneously and can't block anything.
Yet that wasn't even the most astounding thing for Brian, given he noticed something was very wrong. The attacks were spread across and seemed random, but upon closer inspection, one could tell that the Clerics were dropping like flies.
In other words, each of the Clerics that Brian had specifically positioned was being found out one after another.
He quickly turned his attention to Xu Feng and twitched his mouth, "The first two attacks done were to detect my Clerics positioning?"
Xu Feng didn't respond to his question but gave him a "yeah sign" instead.
