Chapter 14: Second level innate ability!:Origin Source.
When Wu Shuang took another step foward, he realized the same enemy had attacked only the numbers had increased. It thus took him a long time go clear them.
Before he knew it, he had traveled almost two thirds of the journey and just as he thought he might end up facing a larger group, he found himself in another space that had massive walls like a maze.
He didn't need to be told anything, the moment he landed, the wall attacked him. It was more like he was in the way of the wall, as such he retreated hurriedly, but behind him, he could also movement prompting him to keep shifting.
When he turned to look at his current circumstances, he almost cursed. The place he was standing before had numerous pathways, but at this moment he only could see one.
But he could see space in the room was shrinking and he rushed towards the obkt exist present.
Walking outside, the thing that came into his sight was a winding wall, and the only path out. It was just that when the walls had space to pass through present, they intersected. If he was careless even for a small window of time, he could be crashed in this place.
What he didn't know was that at the moment his body had indeed moved up four steps ahead.
It seemed miraculous but that was far from the truth. The pathways in this maze like structure were dangerous and crossing one alone was enough to gain him a lot.
He kept his sight on the intersection ready to move at anytime, but the room situation in the room changed.
The ground below him was shaking as though about to collapse as such he shifted to another position, but the position also shook.
"Damn! How should I pass this stage if being forced to loose focus." He complained as he had to wary of the situation below him.
When he was complaining, his feet eyes didn't stop one bit. They kept staring at the walls, and the moment they intersected, he approached fast.
The only thing that could be seen was a blur before Wu Shuang's figure arrived before the walls that had yet to complete their intersection again and he passed through. The next thing he felt the temperature all around rise greatly, but he didn't retreat.
His sight looked to right and could see a massive creature that resembled a lion, curved from stone. The only thing that shocked him was how the curving actually had a strong aura about it, locking onto him.
But before he could do anything, he found himself standing on the final stone steps. Before him was a majestic gate. He was just about to say something to his master about how simple this trial was, before he realized his body had no energy at all.
He was drained and even had a feeling he was close to collapsing. It would be best to say it was taken away than sealed.
"Master! What happened to me?'' he couldn't help but ask.
"What happened is that you are lucky. But it seems that you aren't the only one that has arrived at the end." After hearing this, he turned to his left and saw more than eighty people.
But more than fifty of them were just looking like him. Their bodies seemed to have become thin. Clearly they had suffered the same fate.
Wu Shuang sat down directly, as he couldn't support his body anymore.
No one cared about his actions as they looked at those still struggling to climb.
Majority of the people were gathered at the foot of the mountain. They had given up.
Wu Shuang felt something and turned his head only to see some eyes falling on him. Some seemed friendly and one of them hostile for some reason.
He smilled at everyone, before closing his eyes entering meditation.
"Master, what just happened now?" He couldn't help but ask.
"If I'm not wrong that should be means used to test combat of students as well as reaction, will and decision making." She was far more insightful than him and thus he listened to what she had to say.
"But for you, that is no longer important. You have gotten the chance to enter the Nine Towers Academy. With this chance, I suggest you become very dedicated to training in Innate ability during the day, and at night I will help you train in your martial arts path." She came to this conclusion.
Wu Shuang didn't have any problems with this. Since the Academy was focused on Innate Ability he had to comply. Besides, he had yet to see the actual capabilities of the innate abilities possed by others in combat.
During this trial, he realized that the abilities where actually sealed. In way the Academy was not foolish as to allow useless fellows that had consumed resources to reach higher levels.
"Interesting! I think the life of the Academy will not be bad." He thought as he meditated.
"Strange!" A female voice sounded in Wu Shuang's mind.
"What is going on master?" He couldn't help but become curious.
"That gate! It seems to have a lot Dao ryhmes flowing on it, but what is shocking is that they don't follow any specific Heavenly principles or technique." When he heard this, he didn't understand anything at all.
"What are you saying?'' he indeed didn't have any clue what she had just said.
"I mean this gate is a treasure and probably very ancient. It seems that it was a good idea for you to enter the Academy. I just seem somewhat curious about the next stage of trials before you are allowed to pass through this gate? Or do you already quality as a disciple?" She kept rumbling in his head.
"Master! How could I know this, we have to wait and hear what the Dean says." He was indeed not able to guess what the old man Wen Shou was thinking.
Since that was the case, he could only focus on his recovery until the trial of climbing the mountain was over.
"Master! Why is everyone climbing the mountain in different places?" He couldn't even help than ask.
"Well! I think the trial is set in way that everyone has to overcome something and those that have little or no attachments. But in this world how is this possible to find someone without attachments. Only a few people have pure hearts and let nature take its course." When he heard this he seemed to understand something.
Just like that he had been at the front of the gate for almost four hours, before he opened his eyes, because a figure was standing before them.
"Those that are able to move across the gate will be accommodated in the Academy. The treatment you get in the Academy will keep changing based on your performance." After saying this, he raised his hand as if to make a welcoming sign.
Wu Shuang didn't rush over, bur decided to consult the soul hidden somewhere in his body.
"Master?"
"Just go! What are you afraid of. The ancient gate might not be a bad thing for you." After hearing this he stood up.
Clear someone had already moved, and he followed behind them.
Just like that, the figure before him seemed to have hit some kind of barrier and couldn't move foward. But Wu Shuang's figure become transparent as he walked directly into the barrier vanishing.
The situation however was not important to him, as he felt a strange force spreading all around his body before a torrent of information entered his mind.
"Divine Evolution Method!" Was what entered his mind and it was a technique to practice Innate ability. What he even realized was that this technique didn't focus on any specific aspect rather was a general technique.
Regardless of who you where, as long as you entered the Academy qre required to change to this technique as the main technique.
The technique is only for evolving innate abilities and this one was only able to reach the fourth level.
Those that practiced it to the fourth level can get the next chapters from the Academy. As for the techniques they practice, it wasn't necessary to stop practicing.
The more he looked, the more he seemed to feel something was strange.
"Master! Even though I have never practiced some Innate Ability cultivation technique, it is not normal to have one like this right." He couldn't help but ask.
"Ofcourse! The person that created this technique should be a genius as it can accomodate other techniques. As long as one practices it, the other techniques can be fused in it." The words of his master shocked him.
What he didn't know was that she was also shocked by this.
When he managed to look through the technique, he raised his head only to realize they were more than five people present. That was not all, his knees where completely submerged into a deep yellow fluid.
Looking around, the others had sat down and we're cultivating the Divine Evolution Method.
"What are you waiting for! The technique is what you need now and this liquid seems like something good for you" after hearing the reminder from his master, he sat down on a meditative pose.
He the read the technique repeatedly until he grasped something from it.
His movements kept changing as though he was doing yoga, but surprisingly, his skin kept absorbing some strange power from the Yellow fluid.
The bext moment he heard a roar in his mind, and before he reacted, he discovered a strange gate standing before him.
He was now standing in his mind space.
A vast river that was filled with water rushing down steam had vanished. What appeared in his mind was a massive transition as a gate with a river curving as well as a dragon swimming upstream was the only thing left.
With a thought, a pale drop if dark blue water appeared before him.
"Origin source!" He knew the name as soon as he laid his eyes on the Liquid.
I" can actually condense a drop every five days as long as I gain access to enough energy. So this is this second level of Innate ability?"
