Chapter 13: Concept of Fairness!

"Hey little brother! Need some help?"

"Okay!" Wu Shuang didn't even think twice when someone appeared beside him and even dared to ask him if he needed help.

He had not planned on seeking help, but someone bringing it was not a bad thing. Only the person that had asked him this was puzzled at this response and wondering what to do about it.

Turning his head over he could see a man about the same age as Qin Lin, clearly slightly older than him.

He was smiling at him, but that was not what Wu Shuang was concerned about, rather the fact that this guy seemed so carefree.

"Huh! You don't seem affected by the pressure around here. How did you do that?" He asked this question without even holding back.

As far he could see even those before him where not this carefree.

"Why should I tell you?" He actually responded this way despite his smile.

Looking at this smile, Wu Shuang was already sure this guy was not going to be helping at all rather came over just to watch the show.

Without even a change in his expression.

The man was slightly stunned upon seeing this.

Seeing that he had actually taken another step forward and become dazed only for a moment. When he recovered his eyes where clear as took another step forward.

"Huh! You can actually still continue." He caught up and asked as looked over with some shock.

"What do you mean?" He looked at him a mad person. They were clearly told to climb to the top and stand before the gate. Why would he speak something like that.

"What is with that look? I just think it is interesting to see someone that has yet to even enter the third level of Innate Ability perform this well!" He replied as he looked at Wu Shuang.

"Huh! So you are not helping me anymore? Here I thought you where about to do something big. But then again, why do you think I can't reach the top of the gate?" He complained as he tried to raise his left foot forward.

"I never said that! I just find it weird that you can move this fast. Is the spiritual pressure on you meaningless?" He asked but was not given any answer.

He just realized Wu Shuang was still looking at him calmly. "It's not that I don't want to help, but I can't. Do you think it is possible to be helped?"

"I just wanted to see how you could do it? But turns out you also like talking big!" He commented lightly as he raised his leg with difficulty.

The pressure acting on him had intensified, and he had this feeling as long as his have up, he could walk back safely.

"Hehe!" With this laugh, he managed to make another move forward.

"By the way what is your name brother?" He suddenly asked his name.

"Why haven't you said told me yours first?" He replied calmly.

"Oh!You call me Feng Min!" He introduced himself by looking at Wu Shuang.

"I'm Wu Shuang!"

Feng Min kept looking and couldn't see the two friends Wu Shuang had been communicating with in the beginning.

"Why are you alone? I thought you came with others?" Feng Min seemed very interested in this, but Wu Shuang didn't care.

"Isn't everyone climbing by themselves? Having others around you can't change the outcome." As he said this, he finally took another step forward.

Feng Min that was left behind also rushed to catch up, but was shocked the moment his foot landed.

He wasn't on the stairs, rather a figure of similar realm to him appeared.

"Huh!" He was indeed confused.

The dean of the academy watched as movements slow down from a certain point and commented casually.

"At the end of the day, our academy actually ranks geniuses based on their abilities, and combat is considered the most important."

The situation become common as people reached this stage they slowed down.

Wu Shuang found himself standing on a water surface and a figure with the same realm as him manifested.

He was about to ask something, but the attack was coming his way fast.

"Huh! Just attack when you attack?" He complained as he also moved.

He punched out after they approached each other and the figure on the other side didn't waste time.

When they collided, Wu Shuang retreated by four steps, but was being followed closely.

Just in a few seconds they clashed several times and what was surprising was that the water surface he was standing on couldn't be shaken in the slightest.

"Master! Are you there!" He wanted to communicate with the old lady and ask her what was happening but got no response.

"Damn! It seems that even master is not reliable in such situations." As he thought about this, he kept using that basic moves derived from from the martial body he had formed.

He had not put much effort on it, but now he realized the importantance. The good thing was that the more he fought the proficient he became in using them.

"No! We have to change our training in the future. But there is no reason to panic. As long as we enter the Academy we can have time for this." He unleashed attacks continuously bombarding the figure opposite him viciously.

Before he knew it, he was the only standing in place and the next moment, he seemed to have been released from some kind illusion.

Looking around, he was standing on stairs and could take another step forward. He just didn't rush and kept looking at those behind and before him.

"Interesting!" He looked around and realized Feng Min was still behind him, but a woman seemed to have already walked past him.

She was dressed differently, as an animal skin had been perfectly knit into a dress. The thing that caught his attention more was the small tattoo at the center of her brow in the form of a strange character.

He had excellent eyesight, but at such a close distance, still couldn't see the character clearly. The reason was probably far more complicated and he didn't continue to stare.

"Huh!" The woman turned her eyes and they met with Wu Shuang that was turning his head away.

As she walked small bells were attached to her naked feet, that generated ripples around the area she stepped.

"Oh! Another big shot has appeared!" He complained secretly and his master heard him.

"You are right! This woman is strong and by that I man her physique is strong. It should be she has a innate physical ability or practiced some ancient body path." She concluded the conversation as soon as she contributed this words.

Even Wu Shuang that had nothing extra to add felt something was not right. But I this short period he was in a daze, the woman walked over, and after reaching his position.

"You where looking over at me. Is there something you wanted to say?" She then asked the question.

"Huh!" He indeed was caught off guard. ''I didn't expect this one to be a mad woman. What is she asking me this for?'

He indeed cast a glance at her tattoo and that was all.

"Sorry for the offense!" He replied instead of complicating matters further.

Seeing that Wu Shuang didn't want to talk about the issue, she was tactful and stopped asking.

"So! How did you reach this place with your level 2 Innate ability?" She asked as she looked behind her.

Her sight was on Feng Min that was at least at the fourth level and several other at the third level, struggling below the bridge.

"How did you just reach this place with your cultivation?" As he said this, he looked at about seven figures already up the stairs.

When she heard this, she didn't continue talking to him, and moved a step further. The thing that puzzled him was how has was walking along the steps and though having a small tour of her backyard.

"Master! What is her deal? How come she seems to be having it easy than anyone else? If this how she is playing, what the difference with cheating?" He asked his master who found his words amusing.

"Hehe? You think it's not fair? Fairness by whose standards? Yours? What do you think fairness really is?" She couldn't help but decide to educate her disciple slightly.

"You are practicing martial arts and this is already considered a big unfairness. Do you really think that others that fight you in the future will all be practicing martial arts?" She asked with a sneer.

"This thing fairness is what you should not discuss at all. When it comes down to it, you should just focus on knowledge the Academy will give you about innate ability. After all you are still at the first level of Innate ability." The words sounded like a wake up call to him.

His martial arts had indeed gone further, but innate ability had yet to even evolve to the second level.

He also understood why she had told him to enter the Academy by all means.

She would focus on training him in the path of martial arts but the Academy would be the pathway to reaching far with his Innate Ability.

After he managed to evolve his innate ability, the benefits would be a lot.
