Seraphim is a Bystander

vol. 1 chapter 7 - The beginning of reincarnation

The beginning of reincarnation

Seras' Perspective
I felt the sensation of waking up—something I hadn’t experienced in a very, very long time. Just moments ago, the damn God—no, Creator God—had been right in front of me, but now I found myself in the personal space I occasionally used during my breaks.

When I first got this space, it was nothing but a starry sky and a calm water surface. But after 5 billion years of collecting and reading every book imaginable, I’d remodeled it into a massive library floating on water beneath the stars—needlessly mystical in appearance, but cozy for me.

Checking over my body, it seemed I still had the same angelic form and functions. I didn’t even need a mirror—I could perceive my exact shape down to the finest detail. My internal energy levels and specs were exactly the same as when I was grinding away in Heaven.

I expanded my perceptual range just a bit, and instantly a massive amount of information flowed into my head. But with my processing capacity, a single world’s worth of information is no big deal. ✪ Nоvеlіgһt ✪ (Official version) So, I widened my awareness all the way to the edge of this world’s boundaries.

I see now... This job might actually be really easy.

First off, the reincarnation into the “seed of a hero” was successful.
Right now, it looks like I’m inside the womb—about two months from birth. The main personality hasn’t awakened yet. But the latent potential sleeping within this body is already absurd by this world’s standards—far exceeding my expectations.

The state of the world isn’t as bad as I’d feared either. Looks like real instability won’t begin until the kid turns 14 years old or so.

If I guide their growth properly by then, they might just save the world all on their own.

And as for me? Seems I’ll have quite a bit of freedom here. If I really want to, I can switch out completely and take over the body, using all of my abilities. If things get messy, I can just step in and end it fast.

Yeah… I might actually get to enjoy this as a proper long vacation.

Still, I should check on other strong individuals in this world while I’m at it.

I focused my detection ability on the strength of this world’s unique ability known as “Inou”—and immediately got some strange feedback.

…Wait, what? A god is trying to make contact with a human?

Normally, in a world with a developed civilization, gods are only permitted to deliver “divine messages”—not directly interact. But this one seems to be revealing their form, attempting direct contact.

I narrowed in my awareness. The god of this world—the very one who caused its impending collapse—is trying to contact a human with the “Saint’s” Inou.

Sigh… Fine, guess I better handle this.

As Ren’s subordinate, I can’t just turn a blind eye to a violation like this.
And honestly? I’ve been meaning to chew that god out anyway.

I locked onto the coordinates of the dimensional gate that the god opened to reach the “Saint,” and immediately transferred myself there in spirit form.

As I arrived at the gate, a timid-looking goddess had just begun to step through.

I recalled her name from a past work encounter...

“Lady Spirits?”
“Hiiiii!!!???”

Wow. She actually fell on her butt midair. That takes talent.
