Seven Deadly Sins System

The next day.

In an underground room located below a vast red land, six people had gathered around a table and were staring silently at each other.

These six people included Chu Wuyao, Irene, another High Priest of the Holy Church, and two Great Magicians.

The High Priest was a bald old man with no trace of hair anywhere on his body, including his eyebrows, while the two Great Magicians were two old men with unkempt white hair and a long beard.

Coupled with Irene, who had previously suffered a backlash when using the ominous crown and had now turned into an old woman, Chu Wuyao felt as if she had walked into a geriatric hospital.

Although Chu Wuyao complained inwardly about the situation, she didn't show anything on the surface and maintained a solemn expression.

"I believe that we've already gathered all the people we could. Even if we continue waiting, it is unlikely that other people will arrive here.

"It's about time we break through the palace of the Demon Cult and try to destroy the formation's core.", the bald High Priest suddenly said, and his words received a look of approval from everyone in the room.

Seeing everyone nod, Irene, who was sitting on the side, lightly waved her hand and created a bunch of light that landed on the table in front of them.

The moment it did, a 2D realistic hologram appeared under the eyes of everyone.

The hologram was a map, depicting a huge black palace at its very center, while there were many red dots of varying size inside of it.

Around the palace, there were many complicated runes, that seemed to work together to form a large formation.

The bald High Priest looked at the hologram and spoke up:

"Each red dot in front of you signifies an enemy and the dot's size is proportional to their strength."

"According to our investigation, there are currently two Holy Realm practitioners stationed in the palace and about a dozen or so Great Warriors and Magicians."

"This means that the two sides are roughly equal in strength."

The High Priest said this and his hand moved, pointing towards the many runes around the palace.

"The biggest question we currently have is how to deal with these formations. Otherwise, if we try to break through the palace with these formations being active, we'll be at a massive disadvantage."

The moment he finished his words, the eyes of everyone landed on Chu Wuyao, who had yet to say anything.

Although they didn't speak, Chu Wuyao could roughly guess their thoughts.

"From what I've seen, the level of these formations is not very high and they are far weaker than the formation we are currently in."

"I believe that if you give me some time, I'll be able to discover their weak points and deactivate them."

When they heard her words, everyone couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief.

At the same time, the eyes of the two Great Magicians shone with hints of admiration.

They had long heard that the Saint had shown great formation attainments during the raid in the various strongholds of the Demon Cult, but they didn't expect that she would be able to break the formations that had been obviously carefully arranged by the Demon Cult.

Even though the Saint claimed that the level of the formations wasn't high, these two Great Magicians didn't believe her words.

They had personally gone and seen them before and knew that these formations weren't something a mere Great Magician could deal with.

Even Holy Realm practitioners would have trouble, evidenced by the fact that the two High Priests didn't volunteer, but let Chu Wuyao do it.

"Okay everyone, we don't have much time left. The Holy Pope is still fighting and trying to get us enough time to destroy the core."

"We have to deal with the palace in the quickest time possible. Preferably within today."

After the six people communicated for some time and the two High Priests delegated various tasks to the people below, the bald High Priest announced the ending of this makeshift meeting.

When everyone was almost gone, Chu Wuyao got up from her seat and was about to leave too, when her movements were suddenly interrupted.

"Saint, are you certain that you didn't find any item around me when you rescued me?", the voice of Irene came from behind her back and when she turned around, she found that Irene was looking at her with a serious expression on her face.

In response to her question, Chu Wuyao immediately shook her head:

"No, I woke you up as soon as I discovered you."

After she said this, an inquiring look appeared on her face and she spoke:

"Did the High Priest lose something of value?"

Hearing this, Irene looked at Chu Wuyao for a few seconds, seemingly wanting to see whether she was lying or not.

In the end, she shook her head.

"No, I was just asking.", she said and walked out of the room, leaving Chu Wuyao alone.

Looking at the empty room around her, Chu Wuyao's face turned expressionless and she waved her hand, destroying this place and the evidence of their meeting.

A few minutes later, she jumped out of the ground and appeared in the seemingly endless red land again.

It had been almost a day since the fight between Irene and the Holy Realm demon took place and after Chu Wuyao obtained the Death Crown, she immediately "saved" Irene and woke her up.

Then, the two of them decided to look for other members of the Holy Church in order to try and escape this formation.

Indeed, with the two of them working together, they were able to find a few other members of the Holy Church, who were also walking along the strange white river.

Of course, although everything seemed to be going well, Chu Wuyao knew that this was not completely true.

Even though Irene seemed to believe Chu Wuyao's previous words and didn't pursue it any further, Chu Wuyao knew very well that this was all a disguise.

Most likely, Irene knew that the ominous crown had fallen into her hands.

Chu Wuyao suspected that the reason why she didn't explicitly mention it was because she still needed her strength and her role as a Saint of the Holy Church.

After all, in the current situation, every bit of additional power increases the percentage of the probability of getting out of this place alive.

"Of course, this is true only because she can no longer make use of the Death Crown.", Chu Wuyao thought secretly.

Having already suffered the crown's backlash once and having lost most of her vitality, even though Irene didn't lose her strength, it was impossible for her to choose to use the crown again.

If she were to activate the Death Crown again, she would overdraw her vitality and would soon die.

This, coupled with the current situation, was what allowed Chu Wuyao to not be questioned, despite the reasonable suspicions that Irene had.
