Chapter 156: Good and Evil(2)
The Demon Pope glanced at Chu Wuyao below, and then, with a thought of his mind, tens of humanoid demons appeared beside him.
These demons were of different races, with some of them having scales, some of them having feathers, and others having fur.
The figures of these demons were slightly illusory and from the blank look in their eyes, it was fairly obvious that they didn't possess any intelligence as if they were puppets.
Even so, their aura was still very strong and each of them could rival a Great Warrior or a Great Magician.
The moment these demons appeared, the Demon Pope didn't hesitate and controlled them to pounce on Chu Wuyao and attack her.
Claws, legs, beaks, tails, tongues...
In the blink of an eye, various attacks came from all directions and looked ready to fall on Chu Wuyao's body.
Fortunately, just in time, Chu Wuyao waved her hand, and strands of light gathered in front of her.
Instantly, these strands of light worked together and turned into a flying golden shield.
"Boom!"
The various attacks landed on this shield and were neutralized.
But although the shield withstood the attacks for Chu Wuyao, it also suffered as a result.
Countless tiny cracks formed on its surface, and then, it broke into pieces.
Thankfully, the shield had already completed its purpose and bought enough time for Chu Wuyao, who took a step back and opened some distance from the dangerous demons.
Then, strands of light gathered in front of her again and turned into all kinds of flying weapons, that flew toward the demons that surrounded her.
At the same time, a blue sword appeared in her hand and her figure flashed, arriving at the side of a demon and swinging the sword to cut its head.
Despite the overwhelming amount of demons surrounding her, Chu Wuyao was surprisingly able to find the most effective way to deal with them.
Although she wasn't at an advantage in this "fight", she also didn't find herself in any danger.
When the Demon Pope, who was floating in the sky saw this, he couldn't help but frown and his eyebrows furrowed.
He had long known that the strength of the Saint of the Holy Church was extraordinary, but he was surprised to find that she was so strong.
Even though he didn't use his full strength, as a Holy Realm practitioner, even his casual strike would have severely injured most practitioners below the Holy Realm.
The Demon Pope could see that Chu Wuyao had not yet reached the Holy Realm and was only a Great Warrior and Magician.
"It deserves to be a person that is blessed by destiny. Her strength can't be understood by common sense.", the Demon Pope muttered in a low voice, and then, he looked down at his chest.
There, there was a large wound that had been left behind during his battle with the First Sun King and even if some time had passed, there was still blood flowing out and dripping to the ground.
Although new flesh sprouted and the wound squirmed, the First Sun King's Divine Power remained around the wound, preventing it from healing.
If that wasn't enough, the Demon Pope could sense that this injury was becoming more severe as time passed, making it even harder for him to bring out his full strength.
Even though he and the Holy Pope had managed to kill the First Sun King through a sneak attack, he still had to pay a certain price to do so.
A hint of hesitation flashed in the Demon Pope's eyes, but this hesitation quickly turned into determination.
Lowering his head, he looked at the Chu Wuyao who was fighting with the humanoid demons below and wasn't willing to waste any more time.
Even if taking action would make his injuries worse, he felt that it was worth it.
"I should get her destiny and complete the preparations for my plan first."
"I can always spend some time to recover later.", the Demon Pope thought.
The next moment, his figure disappeared for a brief moment, before flashing right above Chu Wuyao's head.
At the same time, his body squirmed and he "shed" his human body, turning back into his demon form.
Many tiny green scales emerged from his body and clung to his skin, while his pupils turned vertical, resembling the eyes of a snake, or a lizard.
"Hiss!"
The Demon Pope let out a hissing sound, and then, he punched Chu Wuyao with all his strength.
The timing of this attack was very smart, as, at the moment, Chu Wuyao was preoccupied with defending against the attacks of the demons.
With attacks coming from all directions, it seemed as if she had found herself in a very dangerous situation.
However, as she sensed the danger coming from above, not only did Chu Wuyao not show any panic, but she instead became happy.
Under the Demon Pope's shocked eyes, her aura fluctuated and quickly surpassed the Great Warrior realm, reaching the Holy Realm.
With just a thought, the Divine Power that flowed inside her body surged, and countless tiny runes formed on the sword in her hand.
The next second, the sword flew out of her hand on its own, rushed toward the demons, and instantly cut their heads and harvested their "lives".
While this was happening, the changes taking place in Chu Wuyao didn't stop.
Just like the body of the Demon Pope had done before, her body also started squirming and her height rapidly increased, turning her into a small, three-meter-in-height giant.
A golden armor covered in complicated carvings appeared on her torso, while the nails on her hands grew bigger, and two horns popped out of both sides of her forehead.
In the blink of an eye, Chu Wuyao had transformed from a harmless, delicate woman, into a humanoid giant monster.
When the Demon Pope saw this, he didn't need to be a genius to understand that something was wrong.
Without any hesitation, he took his hand back and turned around, ready to escape.
His years of experience had made him quite cautious in his actions and he could sense that the aura of Chu Wuyao was very strong even among Holy Realm practitioners.
At any other time, he would have been confident to deal with her, but now, having suffered severe injuries that made him unable to exert his full strength, he wasn't.
Of course, the Demon Pope didn't plan on letting Chu Wuyao go.
In his mind, he planned to wait for the Holy Pope to arrive and then, the two of them would work together to kill her. Continue your journey on My Virtual Library Empire
His idea was very good, but fortunately, before the Demon Pope could get far, many runes that were originally hidden emerged from the ground and shone with a dazzling black light.
Following this, these runes connected and instantly formed a large formation, covering this land in a black veil.
This veil prevented the light of the sun from coming in, making this land dark and eerie.
The face of the Demon Pope turned ugly when he saw this scene.
He could feel that this formation didn't have any offensive power, but was set up to prevent him from leaving.
He understood that everything that happened before was all within Chu Wuyao's plan!
"Boom!"
The scales on the Demon Pope shook and he punched the black veil with all his strength, causing cracks to form on it.
Surprisingly, the level of this formation was not too high.
The Demon Pope believed that as long as he had a few more seconds, he would be able to break it and get out of this place.
Unfortunately, Chu Wuyao wouldn't give him the time to do so.
"Roar!"
Her mouth opened wide and revealed the countless razor-sharp teeth inside, as she flashed in front of Demon Pope and her hands turned into claws.
Her long nails shone with a sharp light and pierced through the air, attacking the Demon Pope from both sides.
Feeling the danger coming from behind, the Demon Pope could only give up breaking the formation for the time being, turn around, and raise his hands to defend himself.
"Boom!"
Space cracks formed around the two of them, as Chu Wuyao's nails landed on the Demon Pope's scales and created a bunch of flying sparks.
The nails didn't stop there, however, but penetrated through the scales, causing blood to splatter everywhere.
When the Demon Pope saw the blood and felt the sharp pain in his hands, he was shocked!
"Damn it! If it weren't for my injuries, why would I have to spend so much effort to deal with a mere Holy Realm practitioner?", he couldn't help but curse.
The more the Demon Pope thought about it, the more he hated the First Sun King.
That's right, the Demon Pope didn't hate Chu Wuyao, but the First Sun King.
In his mind, the First Sun King was the true culprit and the reason behind the current situation, while Chu Wuyao was merely a side-effect.
If it were not for the First Sun King, how could he have suffered such injuries?
If it were not for the First Sun King, how could he be at a disadvantage against a mere Holy Realm practitioner?
Many thoughts went through the Demon Pope's mind and he had countless complaints.
Unfortunately, he didn't have the chance to voice them.
Seeing the blood splatter everywhere and feeling the warm liquid dripping from her nails, Chu Wuyao's golden eyes shone with a hint of red, and they were filled with madness and bloodthirstiness.
Without any hesitation, she attacked the Demon Pope once again.
"Roar!"
