( Ena's POV )

After our training stop we ran out of coffee supplies so Ryuji and I were raiding a vending machine, kicking it until it couldn't give us anything else.

Io: Isn't this illegal?

Ena: well sure, but we are in a state of emergency so that can be excused.

After everything that had happened I feel like a day had already gone but at no time did the sky darken, the light in this place did not come from the sun so we were not going to burn but that is somewhat uncomfortable.

We continued to advance and with our numbers each next encounter with demons became something trivial and we gained a lot of confidence, but Pixie, who knew more about the dangers of this world, was there to give us a reality check.

Pixie: Master, up ahead there are two bands of demons fighting for territory, demons with territory are not just trying to survive, they fight for more territory and more power, therefore are more dangerous.

Hearing what Pixie said I didn't change course and decided to get closer, I wasn't planning on getting into the middle of a fight but this had me interested, as we approached we saw an area of apartments, and among them one stood out for being the tallest and in the best condition, as we observed the building my phone rang again, The map showed me two areas of different colors and on them it said Ogre territory and the other Tsuchigumo territory.

We all looked at the building with excitement, after all the walking and fighting we did I was fantasizing about lying on a soft bed, we watched from the roof of a rundown apartment for a while hoping that those two groups would start fighting and get tired enough for us to jump on them and take the apartment building for ourselves but the moment the leading demons left their bases an interesting message came to my phone, I considered the content of that for a moment before jumping off the roof, Ryuji followed me without thinking while the girls confused by what I was doing screamed for me to come back but I went straight to the demons.

Ryuji: What's the plan now?

Ena: You didn't have to accompany me, you know.

Ryuji: Oh no, I know that face you have, you're about to do something dangerous, you need me to watch your back bro.

Ena: You know, one of the things I've learned from demons is that they follow contracts, not questions asked, and we'll get more if we take advantage of that.

The Demon Contracts app has always given us what we need, and now I received a message to participate in a territory battle, That aligned with the neutral goal of taking over the apartment building but the message also said that additional rewards could be discussed with opponents, in other words more negotiations.

The leaders of the Ogre and Tsuchigumo territories stood in front of each other releasing a demonic aura ready to pounce on the other, I took my shotgun and shot at the ground near them to get their attention.

Ogre: Human? What do you want? We're in the middle of something.

Ena: I am here to throw my hat in the ring and take your territories from you.

As he said that the demons directed their auras at me, I could feel a pressure but I stood firm and tried to release my own aura, The fact that they didn't attack us right away indicated that it worked a bit.

Ena: Not only that, I also want you two to join my group.

Ogre: And why would we do that?

Ena: For the chance to gain two powerful allies, if you win.

Ogre: Hehe, are you a powerful human?

Ena: It would be foolish to challenge you two if I wasn't.

Tsuchigumo: I accept, but if I win I'll eat you both.

Ogre: I accept too.

As they both agreed a magic circle appeared beneath us and the challenge was set, we then quickly discussed what kind of competition we were going to have and we walked back to the girls.

Ryuji: Dude, are you sure that was a good idea? That's a very big bet.

Ena: It doesn't matter what they demand because we are going to win.

Ryuji didn't ask any more questions when I assured him that we were going to win but when I told the girls they weren't happy.

Ann: This is the kind of thing I was talking about, how you could pick a fight without even asking us.

Ryuji: Don't worry Ann, if Ena says we're going to win, I just have to kick ass until that happens.

Aigis: I trust Ena too.

Ann: I'm not saying I don't trust him.

Ena: Listen, only Ryuji and I are involved in the contract, it's okay if you sit out this fight.

Ann: ...stop doing that.

Ena: do what?

Ann: Stop trying to push me aside, I can take care of myself and I came because I wanted to help you, I'm not going to abandon you so stop telling me to do it.

I didn't expect her to respond that way so I didn't know what to say, Ann blushed as she stopped talking but we had a battle to fight, and we didn't have much time to prepare so we put that aside.

The app will be a competition where the first one to defeat the other enemies will win or easier if the crystals that will appear in the enemy's territories are destroyed, all of that created by the app, and since we didn't have a territory we chose the area of ramshackle apartments as our base.
