Shut Up Dragon! I Don't Want To Have Children With You Anymore

Chapter 123: Chapter 123: Going to Saint Heath

Another chance to "beat Rossweise into the ground" verbally—how could Leon let that slip away?

"Even though I've fallen off, my daughter inherited my power. And Noah is a little genius. Doesn't that indirectly prove her Daddy's a genius too?"

Leon sighed dramatically, wearing a smirk. "Ah, I wonder if Luna will awaken with lightning too. I think she will."

Rossweise shot him a side glance. "Just wait and see—Luna will definitely awaken with fire."

"Lightning."

Leon's casual declaration reignited Rossweise's odd competitiveness. She slammed the desk and replied firmly, "It'll be fire! We'll see!"

———

The element awakened after enlightenment is entirely dependent on the individual and is unaffected by the guidance or curriculum during the enlightenment phase.

At this stage, students only learn how to sense and channel magic power.

So whether Luna takes after her Daddy or her Mommy, no one can say for sure.

But the day of her awakening was fast approaching, and soon the answer would be revealed.

The day after obtaining the library key from Rossweise, Leon brought Luna there.

Upon entering, rows of neatly organized bookshelves stretched endlessly, making it impossible to take everything in at once.

Leon marveled slightly—there had to be at least ten thousand books here.

A private library as massive as a large-scale public one? Rossweise certainly spared no expense.

Thinking about it, Leon couldn't help but wonder. 'With so many books... could that dragon even finish reading them all?'

But after a moment's thought, it made sense. Dragons lived for thousands of years—far longer than humans could ever dream of.

Even if she read sporadically, she could finish all these books within that time.

Leon pulled himself out of his thoughts and led Luna, holding her small hand, past row after row of bookshelves.

The books here were numerous but also highly organized by category. Every genre imaginable was available.

There were even novels—romance, ghost stories, myths, legends—everything.

However, Leon wasn't here to kill time or enjoy himself.

He had two main objectives: to teach Luna the basics of magic and to resolve his own magic depletion problem.

Leon selected a few books for beginners and brought Luna to a desk near the floor-to-ceiling windows.

He lifted Luna onto his lap, opened a book titled Introduction to Magic for Young Dragons, and began flipping through the pages.

Luna's eyes lit up. "Oh, oh, I know this one! Big sister read this book before."

Leon smiled and patted her on the head. "Now it's your turn, Luna. Follow in your sister's footsteps and study hard, okay?"

"Okay~"

Despite her usual airheadedness, Luna was still the sister of a genius. When it came to serious matters, she could focus.

Leon was confident in his little girl.

As he flipped through the book, Leon explained the basics of magic.

For foundational theory, the teaching methods for dragons and humans were the same.

"Magic power is a composite force," Leon explained. "It's formed by the combination of physical strength and mental power. Guided through internal magical circuits, it manifests as the effects desired by the user."

Using simple terms, Leon broke down the structure and use of magic power.

Luna listened intently, her little cowlick swaying side to side. She asked, "Daddy, what's mental power?"

"Mental power is just a term. You can think of it as 'will,' 'intent,' or even 'a strong desire to achieve a goal.' Of course, that's just a simplified explanation—it's much more complex in reality."

Leon grabbed another book. "For example, when Daddy picks up this book, I'm using some strength, right?"

Luna nodded.

"And at the same time, I have the intent to pick up the book. Together, these two things make it possible to perform this simple action."

Luna blinked her pretty eyes and softly said, "Ohhh." Then she asked, "But, but, if Daddy doesn't strongly want to pick up the book, wouldn't he still be able to do it?"

Simplified explanations often left loopholes.

Leon deliberately left this one for Luna, encouraging her to think and ask questions to better understand.

"You're right, Luna. For something as simple as picking up a book, intent or mental power doesn't play a big role."

"But for something as complex as casting magic, the strength of mental power significantly affects the result. Let's make two extreme assumptions."

"Okay, Daddy, go on!" Luna was all ears, finding this far more interesting than baby dragon stories.

"One person is healthy with a good mental state. Another is also physically healthy but strongly resistant to using magic for some reason."

"Now, both are tasked with casting dragon flame. Who do you think will do it better?"

"The first one!" Luna raised her hand.

"And why?"

"Because you just said magic power is made of physical and mental strength. If their physical strength is the same, the difference in their mental power determines the result!"

Leon pinched her cheek with a smile. "Exactly. The strength of one's intent to use dragon flame directly affects the outcome. Similarly, the reasons for someone not wanting to use magic can vary—like being tired after a battle or feeling pressured by an opponent after seeing a friend defeated."

"There are dedicated courses for training mental and willpower during magic studies, which you'll encounter later, Luna."

"Ohhh, okay. I'll remember!"

"Of course, having strong mental power isn't enough. Physical strength is equally important. Luna's been training her body lately, and that's great."

Luna wagged her tail proudly. "Of course~ I don't want to fall too far behind Big Sister."

'Good girl! Working hard from a young age—she'd grow up to outperform every dragon King and Queen.'

After covering a few more basics, Luna began practicing on her own.

Finally, Leon could focus on his own tasks.

He went to the magic section of the library, scanning for any useful books.

His recent review of the fundamentals had sparked a new idea.

"If magic power is made of physical and mental strength, I have plenty of both now. So why am I still depleted of magic?"

He muttered to himself, pulling books off the shelves while pondering deeply.

"Is it that I can't generate magic? That's not it—during the dragon strength potion trials and sparring with Rossweise, I could temporarily use lightning magic. That means I can create magic."

"Then what's the problem...?"

He spent the entire morning combing through magical texts. While he did find some cases of magic depletion, none of the solutions worked for him.

'Troublesome!'

'This would clearly be a long-term problem to solve', Leon thought grimly.

———

At lunchtime, Leon brought Luna to the dining hall.

Rossweise was already there.

"Mommy!" Luna called sweetly, her ahoge bouncing as she ran over.

Rossweise smiled and picked her up. "Was studying hard this morning tiring?"

"Nope! Daddy explained things so well—I listened super carefully."

Rossweise nuzzled her daughter's cheek. "That's great. I can't wait for you to awaken your element."

Then she glanced meaningfully at Leon.

Leon snorted softly, knowing exactly what that dragon was thinking.

Whether Luna awakened with fire or lightning wouldn't affect her studies much, but it would absolutely impact the family power dynamic.

Noah's lightning awakening was already Leon's trump card in their household rivalry.

If Luna also awakened lightning, Leon could practically pop champagne in Rossweise's face.

But if it turned out to be fire, the queen could reclaim some lost ground, preventing her dragon-slayer husband from gloating too much.

Their strange competitiveness mirrored that of normal couples arguing over which parent their child resembled more.

Lunch proceeded slowly.

Halfway through, Anna entered with a letter.

"Excuse me, Your Majesty, Your Highness. It's a letter from the academy."

Anna handed it to Rossweise, who opened and read it quickly.

Leon set down his fork, his curiosity piqued. "What does it say?"

Rossweise passed him the letter. "The academy is inviting us to Noah's award ceremony for her essay contest."

Although this letter was just a simple invitation, it didn't mention Noah's results.

But they were still confident in their daughter's abilities and the creativity of this topic selection.

However, the couple couldn't feel entirely happy about it.

Because the word "ceremony" always reminded them of some awkward and embarrassing memories at Saint Heath Academy.

Whether it was the entrance ceremony or the sports meeting ceremony, under Vice Principal Wilson's operations, this "model family" would always end up in situations of extreme social death in front of the other dragons.

Perhaps Wilson was genuinely gratified that a student from his academy came from such an outstanding family, and in the eyes of other dragon families, the Melcovy family was indeed their role model—

'But!'

'We know what kind of family we are, okay!'

The couple didn't feel guilty about the title of "model family"; they just felt that instead of sharing this honor with their old nemesis, they might as well let someone else have it.

"So tomorrow, we're probably going to be executed by the stares of that group of dragons."

Leon said, "And Wilson will be the executioner at tomorrow's execution."

Thinking for a moment, he looked at Rossweise, "How about we secretly fly to the academy tonight, and then, without anyone knowing, deal with that old bastard dragon…"

As he spoke, Leon made a "knife-cutting" gesture on his neck.

Cutting off someone's head isn't exactly a proper way to treat a headache;

But if you cut off the person causing your headache, the treatment effect might be unexpectedly good.

Rossweise knew he was joking, so she shook her head, "Just go and attend honestly. The letter says this time the ceremony will only be held in Noah's class. Even if the vice principal is present, he can't stir up too much trouble."

In other words, they had survived the two heavyweight events before, so this time it would be a piece of cake~

Leon scratched his head and let out a breath, "Okay, then we'll set off tomorrow morning?"

"Mm."

Leon waved his hand and turned to leave Rossweise's room.

Rossweise sat alone on the sofa. Even someone as calm as her couldn't help but feel a bit of PTSD about the ceremonies at Saint Heath Academy.

She could only hope that Vice Principal Wilson would restrain himself tomorrow and not cause her and Leon to die of social embarrassment too badly.

The night grew deeper, and drowsiness crept in. Rossweise got up, took a bath, tidied up briefly, and went to bed.

The next morning, the couple set off for Saint Heath Academy.

Upon arrival, they headed to the teaching building for the young dragons.
