Chapter 557: 556: Long Time No See
As the familiar bell chime rang across the entire Shattered Dimension, space rippled in several places. To Corey's surprise, his unique senses could perceive a ripple occurring three meters in front of him.
'What a surprise and a coincidence… Somebody is going to appear in front of me?'
Just as Corey had this thought, he felt an extremely faint and subtle feeling pass through him. The feeling was familiar and strange, but two seconds later, he realized why it felt so familiar. Discover exclusive content at My Virtual Library Empire
Karmic Luck… The use of Karmic Luck.
Somebody's karmic luck was being reduced so that they could appear in front of him, and Corey was baffled and curious as to who it could be.
'It's either the person's karmic luck is being used so that they would appear in front of me, or it's being used so that the person would appear in the City of Veyrith… I wonder which it is.'
Just as Corey had this thought, the space in front of him rippled one more time, and then an individual appeared in midair before falling flat onto the ground.
As the individual fell to the ground, Corey's eyes widened slightly in disbelief and confusion with his mouth wide open.
"Divine?"
Corey furrowed his brows, and then his Eyes of Dreams and Nightmares transformed into his Eyes of Omniscience. He cautiously looked around, and then he observed Divine to make sure it was actually Divine and not some trap some unknown individuals were playing on him.
'It's actually Divine… But he's dying?'
Corey walked up to Divine, and as he did, Divine's condition was 'easier' for him to see.
Divine was unconscious, and on his body were several injuries, with the most severe being a deep cut on his neck. When Corey saw the deep cut on Divine's neck, a deep frown surfaced on his face, and after some internal calculations and thoughts, he bent down and placed his hands on Divine's neck.
'With such a deep and grievous injury, he should be dead. However, his high and unique constitution is what is keeping him safe.'
A silver, green, violet, and light blue light that was harmoniously mixed appeared around his hands and Divine's neck.
The wound slowly healed, however, the rate at which the cut on Divine's neck and his other injuries healed up was too slow for Corey's liking.
'There's a strange and pervasive energy in most of the injuries on Divine's body… Wait, it feels more like… Time?... I can sense the aura of time on some of his injuries… What has he been doing since he arrived in the Shattered Dimension?'
Corey released a soft sigh, and approximately ten seconds later, he saw that Divine's injuries were much better. Although they were not completely healed, Divine's life was no longer in danger.
Corey held Divine's hand, and then he carried him on his back. Ignoring the strange stares and whispers of the people around him, he entered the inn he, his Master, and Melissa were staying in.
The inn was called The Hamid Inn.
Once again, Corey ignored the stares and whispers he received from the people in the inn, and with a stoic expression, he carried Divine to his room.
He placed Divine on the floor, and then after making sure that he was okay, he continued healing him. As he healed him, he recalled Divine's situation before entering the Shattered DImension.
Because he was caught in his attempt to rob the mansion of the Lord of the Central Area and was imprisoned, he had to make a deal with Calista, the Central Lord, and several high-ranking Underworld officials so that he could regain his freedom.
He had to fight a Tier 5 in the Battle of Chosen, however, before the battle, he could not fight or kill anybody, whether they attacked him or not. He could only defend himself or run away from his attackers, or he'd be taken back to the Central Prison.
'I wonder if such a rule was still applicable in the Shattered Dimension? If it was, then I can only imagine what sort of hell Divine must have gone through.'
'I can't imagine not being able to fight back against any Outsider… Divine would only be able to kill Tainteds and Abominations, but he'd have no choice but to run away from every Outsider.'
'Well, I'm sure he was fine… He's an extremely freaking lucky bastard.'
Corey's lips curled upward as he imagined Divine's frustrated expression. Just as he was imagining scenes of Divine cursing out loud with a frustrated and rage-filled expression, Divine sat up with a shout.
"No more cucumbers, Mother!"
"..."
Corey blinked, and before he knew it, his right hand moved.
PA!
A loud slap resounded in his room, and Divine saw stars hovering above his head for a few seconds. With a thud, he fell to the ground and was unconscious.
Corey's right eye twitched, and then he cursed softly.
"Why the hell did you shout?"
Corey hissed with an annoyed expression, and then he moved closer to Divine's unconscious body. He shifted his body to the right position, and then he continued healing Divine, making sure there were no hidden injuries that could harm him.
As he was doing this, a knock resounded in his room, and Corey looked at the door. He furrowed his brows slightly, and then his eyes turned pure white. When he saw who was behind the door, he raised his brows in surprise.
"Come in."
The doorknob twisted, and then the door opened, revealing a blind man with a bottle of alcohol in his left hand.
The individual was Dave, the Blind Seer of Divine's group.
"Long time no see, Smile Reaper."
Corey nodded slightly, and then he replied with an unveiled tone of surprise, "Long time no see, Dave. I never knew you were in Veyrith."
Dave smiled, "I wasn't. I just got here like Cap over there."
"Like Cap?" Corey raised his brows, but then it dawned on him, and he could not help but give Dave a strange look of suspicion.
