SpiderGwen: I have a system?!

Chapter 214: Chapter 214: The Arrival

[3rd POV]

Three days later, after a lot of preparation for the arrival of the Avengers, and the city officially stepping into the light in a much more open manner, it was finally time for the group to arrive. Gwen had prepared as much as she possibly could, placing thousands of new wards inside the city itself, making it so that no one besides those previously in the city, could enter certain areas of Malzif.

She also created several wards that were keyed to negative intentions. So if someone was attempting to attack one of her citizens, and somehow made it into the city, they would automatically be expelled from the city, and teleported to the place she had keyed the ward to. Which was...the sun.

She had made the other end out of Adamantium and Vibranium, so it wouldn't melt under the immense heat of the core of the sun. The only members of the Avengers that would even have a chance of surviving that, was Hulk, Thor, and Captain Marvel, and that was...questionable at best for Bruce and Carol.

She had also made it so that no outside technology could be spread throughout the city, except with her express peers' mission. Meaning that only the technology they had on their persons would work, and even that would be blocked under several other wards that would corrupt any footage or anything else, the moment they even attempted to gather any.

At the moment Gwen stood in front of the entrance of the council building, in front of her was a large glowing portal that she had made, one that two of her droids were currently on the other end of, preparing to bring the group from the other side.

From what she could tell, the entire roster of the Avengers was there, with only Thor being absent, which was commonplace, with him spending most of his time on Asgard, with his father. Gwen decided she would contact them eventually, as they were getting closer and closer to figuring out her location, and it was best to get that particular interaction out of the way.

After standing for what felt like hours, the group behind Gwen, which was a large majority of the council, watched as Nick Fury stepped through the portal, followed soon after by the members of the Avengers, and his trusted right hand woman, Maria Hill.

'They're already tense, cautious. Maria has several weapons on her hand, as well as all sorts of trackers and other devices in order to attempt to monitor this place. The rest of the SHIElD personal are the same from the looks of it. Not surprising at all, but still rather annoying' Gwen thought, a little displeased with this sight, but not at all surprised with it.

Gwen knew that they would be cautious, and would likely have all sorts of weapons on them, but this was a little much. Too bad for them though, as none of it would work at all. Besides the fact that pretty much every single citizen in the city was trained in defending themselves, were mutants with a variety of powers, and some even having a sort of super soldier serum running through their veins, she was also there with Jean and several others, so nothing could even touch them, much less harm them.

And if they somehow did, well...lets just say that they won't make it very far.

"Ah, it's nice to finally meet you, Nick Fury. Do you remember who I am?" Gwen said, smiling. The man's eye widened upon seeing her, as realization settled in.

Fun fact, Gwen had actually set up a few neat little spells around her identity, so that the man had forgotten about her being at the Xavier school back on Earth, hence why he didn't immediately know who she was from the description and name. And it was totally not because the author forgot or anything....

"Yes, Yes I do. How did I forget who you were?" Fury asked, frowning at the fact that his mind might have been tampered with.

"Just a little mutant trickery, nothing too serious. Just wiped my face and name from the memories of anyone who interacted with me before I created my city, better to remain hidden that way" Gwen replied with a smile, not at all caring for the alarmed looks on their faces.

"You mean that you tampered with Fury's memories? You know how much of a breach of privacy that is, right?" Steve asked, as Gwen looked at the man with a deadpan.

"And you know that attempting to bug me and the others in the city is a breach of privacy right? I mean seriously, did you really think you could take all that recording technology into my city without me noticing? Too bad for you, none of it will be working here" Gwen replied, as Steve's eyebrows furrowed in confusion, before looking to Fury, whose frown somehow deepened, which she didn't even know was possible.

Meanwhile, Stark and Banner were focusing more on the surroundings, with the latter looking around in awe at the sheer size of the place, and the immensely advanced technology that was literally everywhere.

While Stark was looking around, more interested than anything. He was interested on how this was even possible, as a lot of what he was seeing was well beyond anything on Earth, like the flying cars that seemed to be at LEAST 20 years beyond the current level of technology that they had. Not to mention the wall around the city, the clear air, and everything else.

"How did you manage to create a power source efficient enough for the flying cars, without being too expensive to produce?" Stark asked, not able to hold in his curiosity.

"Cost is no issue to me, Stark. Things that are rare and worth billions of dollars on Earth, are easily found on my planet. And with the right materials...well, lets just say this entire city, the walls, the streets, everything, it's all made of the same thing you've been trying to buy for years now" Gwen replied, as the man stopped, his eyes widening in surprise.

"You mean to tell me that everything here, everything we're seeing, it's made of Vibranium? How? The cost alone would be well beyond anything you could afford on Earth, and even if you did have a shit ton of it here, you wouldn't be able to make an entire city from it. I call bull, lady" Tony said in disbelief, as the other visitors also looked at her wide eyed.

"Not to mention all the roads and buildings look like they're made of a simple stone or cement, not at all like a metal like Vibranium" Banner added as Gwen smiled.

"That's because I've learned to fuse it with other materials to create stronger variants of them. It's complex, but easily done once you figure it out. But in order to do so, you'd need thousands upon thousands of tons of it, so good luck ever figuring it out~" Gwen teased, knowing that it was going to annoy Tony, especially with that competitive nature he has when it comes to inventions and engineering.

And Gwen was rapidly proving herself to be an incredible genius, one well beyond him. The fact that she had produced flying cars, a city made of Vibranium that is dozens of times larger than New York, and is also the one who created an entire government system and economy, only cemented that she was dangerous, and intelligent.

"Now, if you're done trying to get secret information out of me regarding my city, let us get inside and start this mission, shall we?" Gwen said, as they all looked at one another before nodding, as one by one they entered the building, being closely watched by everyone else.

All the while, Gwen had only one thought on her mind.

'...This is going to be a shit show'

That's the end of the chapter!

Gonna be completely and utterly honest right now, I am exhausted. I've had some IRL stuff come up today that ended up taking all day to do (and was an absolute pain in the ass that lasted like 8 hours) and I am tired AF. Combine that with my insomnia and horrid sleeping as of late, and you've got a struggling author who can barely stay awake when writing. (When I wrote this, that was the case)

Anyways, so sorry for all the delays, have a good day!
