Chapter 97: Chapter 97: Muguruma Kenseivs Sado Yasutora
"A Shinigami!?""A Hollow mask!?"
Kurosaki Ichigo and the others looked at the new arrivals in surprise.
Because of Nanaya's presence, they had become very sensitive to the spiritual energy of both Shinigami and Hollows.
Now, the Shinigami who had appeared suddenly were radiating both types of spiritual pressure—something unusual and unsettling.
They reminded them of Nel and Tier Harribel.
No one said a word, but Muguruma Kensei stepped forward with an annoyed expression."So what's the deal? I heard that guy Nanaya was supposed to be so arrogant. But now he's too scared to even show himself?"
"What did you just say!?"
Nel immediately snapped back, clearly offended."Nel is not arrogant! And he doesn't need to waste his time on people like you!"
"A Hollow!?"
Muguruma Kensei and the others were caught off guard. They had no idea who Nel was or what had happened with Nanaya and his group in Soul Society—Urahara Kisuke hadn't told them.
So when they saw Nel, they were stunned.
Among them, only Hirako Shinji remained calm. The others, like Kensei and Sarugaki Hiyori, instantly drew their Zanpakutō.
Hiyori, in particular, was quick to act. She charged ahead without hesitation.
"Cut her down, Orochi!"
As she shouted, her Zanpakutō entered Shikai. The blade transformed into a heavy, jagged weapon with an uneven edge—powerful and wild.
Hiyori vanished from sight and reappeared right in front of Nel.
But Nel wasn't fazed in the slightest.
Before Hiyori could strike, Tier Harribel stepped in with lightning speed. Her eyes burned with anger as she drew her sword and slashed with full force.
"Back off!"
She didn't hold back at all—almost like she had mistaken Hiyori for Nanaya himself.
CLANG!!!
The clash rang out like metal smashing metal.
Hiyori's face changed as she was forced back several steps—seven or eight in total.
Her hands went numb, and she almost dropped her Zanpakutō."This... this power and Reiatsu…"
"An Adjuchas!?"
She cried out in shock.
In her mind, most Hollows that showed up in the human world were weak. If something like a Gillian appeared, Seireitei would immediately send someone to take care of it.
But Tier Harribel's spiritual energy wasn't just above a Gillian's—it was stronger than any Adjuchas she'd ever encountered.
Realizing the danger, Hiyori quickly placed her hand across her face.
Her spiritual pressure exploded—both Shinigami and Hollow energy flaring at once.
A white and red Hollow mask formed on her face, jagged with sharp horns at the forehead.
In this state, Hiyori cautiously stepped back. The sharp tip of her mask began glowing red, charged with spiritual energy.
Tier Harribel looked at her with disdain and said coldly,"A Shinigami using Hollow powers in front of me? How pathetic."
She was a Vasto Lorde-class Hollow—the peak of Hollow evolution. Seeing a Shinigami awkwardly use Hollow powers made her scoff.
Without saying another word, Harribel raised her Zanpakutō, channeling her spiritual energy into it.
Golden light began to gather at the tip.
Swish!Swish!
Two beams of light—one red and one gold—fired at the same time and collided in the air.
But it only lasted a moment.
Harribel's golden Cero completely overwhelmed Hiyori's red one, smashing through it and speeding straight toward her.
"No...!"
Hiyori panicked.
Before defecting, she had only been the lieutenant of the 12th Division—not on the same level as Shinji or Kensei.
Even with Hollow powers, she was no stronger than Komamura Sajin.
(TLnote-skill issue)
There was no way she could stop a Cero of this level.
Hirako Shinji and Kensei both tried to act, their faces grim.
But before they could move, Nanaya raised his right hand calmly.
"Universal Pull."
With that command, the golden Cero suddenly stopped midair.
Then, as if pulled by an invisible force, it reversed direction and flew back—right into Nanaya's hand.
He gripped it tightly—and crushed it.
"What the hell!?"
Hiyori was stunned.
Muguruma Kensei's eyes burned with excitement. He stared at Nanaya and said,"A human with this kind of power… You're Nanaya, aren't you!?"
Clenching his fists, he took a step forward, eager to fight."Why are you picking on Hiyori? If you want a real fight, take me on instead!"
Sarugaki Hiyori glared at him. "Kensei, what's that supposed to mean? I wasn't defeated. That attack was nothing."
Tier Harribel let out a cold snort and glanced at Hiyori with clear disdain.
If this were Hueco Mundo, she wouldn't even need to lift a finger. Her three subordinates could've easily dealt with someone like Hiyori.
"What's with that look, you smug woman!?"Hiyori shouted, her eyes wide and fiery, like a cat ready to pounce.
Harribel didn't bother replying. Without saying a word, she pulled out her Zanpakutō, not bothering to release it fully, and released her spiritual pressure.
A wave of blue Reiatsu, heavy with water-like energy, spread through the area. It felt like an endless ocean pressing down on everything.
Hiyori's eyes widened in shock. Her body trembled under the crushing pressure, and she instinctively stepped back.
"This feeling..."
"Alright, Tia, that's enough. Don't bully her."Nanaya said casually.
Only then did Harribel pull back her Reiatsu.
Hiyori didn't say another word. For a brief moment, it felt like she was staring into the heart of a violent ocean—a force of nature that could drown her at any second.
She had truly felt the presence of death.
After a short pause, Nanaya turned to Sado Yasutora with a small smile.
"Sado, perfect timing. Go fight this Shinigami. Let's see how much you've improved from your training in Hueco Mundo."
Kuchiki Rukia wasn't the only one who had grown stronger in the Forest of Menos. Sado had also made huge progress.
The only one who hadn't advanced much was Orihime. Her gentle personality held back the growth of her powers, especially the Shield Shun Shun Rikka.
"Alright. I'll give it a shot."
Sado Yasutora replied calmly. He stepped forward, clenched his fists, and released his spiritual pressure.
It was a mix of black and red—intense and eye-catching.
"Another human?"Muguruma Kensei frowned.
According to the intel he'd received, only Nanaya and Kurosaki Ichigo were considered threats. The others were thought to be weak and unimportant.
"Are you looking down on me?"
Kensei's expression turned serious, irritation flashing in his eyes.
Nanaya just smiled and said casually,"You Shinigami are always the same—so arrogant. Let me give you a warning: arrogance will get you hurt."
Kensei snorted, clearly not taking the advice seriously.
He looked back at Sado and said coldly,"Fine. I'll deal with this guy first. But if he gets injured, don't blame me. He better be ready."
With that, he drew his Zanpakutō.
Even though he ignored Nanaya's warning, Kensei still released his spiritual pressure.
Gripping the hilt, he swung the blade with ease and said in a low voice:
"Smash it, Tachikaze!"
As soon as he spoke, a strong wind stirred around him. His plain Zanpakutō transformed into a short dagger with a square handle and a small ring on the end.
Green wind swirled around the weapon, sharp and threatening.
Sado didn't respond. True to his quiet nature, he simply focused his energy into his right arm.
His arm grew larger and stronger, the black and red energy spreading across it like armor.
Slowly, it formed a powerful shield on his right arm—thick and reinforced with spiritual energy.
Kensei moved.
Wind wrapped around his body, boosting his speed. In the blink of an eye, he was right in front of Sado.
He slashed down with the wind-charged dagger.
But when the blade struck the shield, it didn't cut through.
The black and red arm—though made of flesh and blood—was harder than steel.
When the two collided, the sound that rang out wasn't that of a blade slicing through flesh.
It was the sharp clash of metal against metal.
