SSS Ranked Reincarnation: Dark Dragon Legacy

Chapter 304: Creature

The sky got deep, and the sun ended its journey. Luckily, they found a clearing that was made by former travelers.

They stopped the carriage, and like every normal adventurer party, they made a fire and sat around it. Lia decided to cook since they brought things for cooking as well. Sage, Fay, and Amber decided to help.

Silva was surprised that Makes didn't speak much during the whole journey, even when the discussion about the blessings and the curse came up. But he didn't want to worry over that right now. He would ask her if everything was alright later.

Silva and Aaron sat near the fire on small stools that they brought along. They held small sticks in their hands and were burning them in the fire.

Aaron then looked up and asked a question that Silva was not really expecting. "Have you even thought about the possibility of more continents aside from this one?"

Silva paused after he heard the question. Of course, he had thought about the possibility. He came from a world where they had seven continents, though not as big as the ones here.

But still, this world would not have just one, right? It should have others. They couldn't be the center of everything, but when he thought of this, it made him question certain things.

The goddess, the heroes, and the demon kings, they unknowingly gave the image that this continent was the center of everything.

She never spoke of anywhere outside, all the wars that were fought to change and balance this world were fought here.

All the major happenings that happened, happened here. They all happened here. The demons, the celestials, the world tree, the dragons, everything, even the black dragon, they all happened here.

And that didn't make any sense because if other continents existed, wouldn't all this affect them as well? There was a gap in the stories, a large one, and it made him confused.

He tried not to think about it, but now that Aaron pulled his mind to it, it made him worry more and get even more confused.

He looked at Aaron and spoke. "Aaron, I'm not sure, I find it hard to believe that we are the only ones on this world, but I have no proof for anything at all," Silva said.

"So you are thinking like me, there might be other continents out there. But every time I think that line, it starts to make less and less sense," Aaron said.

"Yeah, it's like something is making it feel stupid in our minds, something is making it seem senseless to us," Silva said. Discover stories with My Virtual Library Empire

"Wait, are you trying to say there is a force that is stopping us from the realization of something?" Aaron said.

"It's possible, Aaron. It doesn't make sense that everything is centered around us. Every story, every history, every detail is centered around our continent.

It's like this continent is the whole world or something, and that is fishy," Silva said.

As he said that, both of them felt a slight tremor. They immediately looked around and discovered all the others had fallen asleep.

"Something is here, get ready to fight," Silva said and pulled out his sword, while Aaron got ready as well.

Suddenly, like a curtain, something pushed open the space, revealing a black void. A long, black, skinny hand came out of it, and then a second hand, a third, and a fourth.

It opened the space wider, and the full figure came out—a hunched creature with one glowing red eye, no mouth, completely black and about ten feet tall.

It was skinny, all bones, and its black skin. With four arms and two very thin legs to hold it up.

It walked out of the space it opened, and like a curtain, it swung close again. The creature stood there. It didn't have a mouth, yet it somehow made a low growling sound.

Silva had never seen anything like this. It was the first time he had come across this creature, but his entire body was screaming one thing, and one thing alone.

Run, run, run.

Silva had never felt the urge to run away from anything like he did for this creature, even when he stared at that puppet of the twelve-winged weeping angel, he didn't feel this way.

But right now, all he could think of was running away, and he didn't know why.

"No way, I'm not running away from a battle," he said and looked at Aaron. "Distract it, I'll go for the attack," Silva said. He could see Aaron trembling in his knees, so he knew he was not the only one that feeling was affecting.

"I-ill try my best," Aaron said while stuttering. Silva nodded and charged at the creature full speed. Aaron cast a massive blast of wind to distract the creature, but somehow, his spell stopped halfway, returned, and slammed into Aaron, sending him flying.

Silva didn't have time to worry about Aaron, he continued charging, leaped into the air with his sword covered in abyssal flame, and slashed downward at full speed.

His sword hit something, but the sword didn't hit the creature. It was as though it hit an invisible brick wall and stopped.

Silva was shocked. He didn't even make it to the creature. The creature turned to look at him. Its eyes glowed brighter, and a light beam shot out of it, but Silva jumped out of the way as fast as he could. The light beam missed him.

He landed on the ground and immediately retreated. His senses still screamed at him to run. Silva, for some reason, knew that holding back here would not be good, so he immediately transformed into his dragon.

He was also about to summon his clones in their dragon form, but then he heard a loud resounding growl from the creature, and he forcefully transformed back into a human and fell to the ground, unable to move.

The creature walked to Aaron first and blasted Aaron with its eye beam. Silva lay on the ground watching, unable to do anything.

After blasting Aaron, the creature dropped Aaron and walked to Silva. It picked Silva up and blasted him with the beam as well, then dropped Silva back.

Silva felt his sight fading as he watched the creature part the space again and walk into it. After that, he fainted.
