Chapter 199: Chapter 92: Dark and Windy Night
Inside Whirlpool Village, Uzumaki Nagana glared darkly at the enemy forces surrounding them, both sides brimming with tension as a fierce battle loomed.
With the presence of the three Kage and the accompanying head of Uzumaki Zetsu brought back from Konoha, the intentions of the attackers were abundantly clear.
They were not here to negotiate; they were here to annihilate the Land of Whirlpools!
In addition to the three Kage, the opposing forces boasted over a hundred ninja, each exuding a heavy, oppressive chakra. Judging by their strength, nearly all were of jōnin rank! It was evident that an elite United Shinobi Forces had gathered, consisting of the finest ninjas from the three great villages.
Uzumaki Nagana took a deep breath, suppressing the trembling in his heart. He understood that this was a... life-or-death battle concerning the very survival of the Uzumaki clan!
The night wind was chill, and the air was thick with the decisive aura of death, penetrating to the bone.
"Attack! Today we shall eradicate the Uzumaki clan once and for all!"
With the Second Kazekage's command, the allied forces moved simultaneously, the clash imminent.
Both sides roared as they charged toward each other; in the moonlight, the bright, flowing red hair of the Uzumaki warriors appeared as vivid as blood.
As the conflict erupted, the differences in ability became glaringly obvious.
The Uzumaki clan had lain comfortably under the protection of Konoha for too long, and they were not a clan accustomed to warfare. While their sealing techniques had often proven effective against large foes, they were unfortunately facing not reckless beasts but calculating killer ninjas.
The enemy expertly avoided the trapping techniques, swiftly advancing and slicing through the air, as muffled cries rang out from the crowd—hot blood spilled, staining the earth crimson.
This was a chaotic battlefield, but the ninjas from the three great villages thrived within the chaos. In contrast to the Uzumaki's awkward and rigid movements, their coordination was seamless, showcasing undeniable superiority in both taijutsu and ninjutsu.
In a matter of moments, many Uzumaki clan members lay groaning on the ground, only those truly skilled could barely hold their ground, but with the constant onslaught from their enemies, they found themselves outmatched and overwhelmed.
The shouts of killing rose like thunder, and the wind grew more fierce and cold.
As he watched his clansmen being butchered and listened to their moans fade into the night air, Uzumaki Nagana, as the clan leader, naturally struggled to maintain his composure. Before he could take action, the Second Kazekage, Shamon, blocked his path.
"Your opponent is me."
Shamon approached expressionlessly, flicking his hands as ten scrolls flew into the air, revealing ten tall figures in white robes amidst the billowing white smoke.
Each of them had distinct forms, yet all wore icy, mechanical expressions. As the gentle breeze blew, their robes fluttered, and their long arms emanated a wooden sheen under the moonlight.
Uzumaki Nagana's expression hardened. His perception revealed ten glowing blue chakra strings linking these white figures to Shamon's fingertips. As his fingers subtly moved, the white figures executed various actions in unison.
"Is this the notorious Chikamatsu's Ten Puppets?"
The question remained unanswered, as Shamon initiated the attack.
With a flick of his fingers, three of the puppet figures opened their mouths wide, their mechanisms clattering as gears turned. Cannons emerged, and a storm of Thousand Poison Needles shot forth in a dazzling light, completely enveloping Uzumaki Nagana.
"Hmph! Don't underestimate me!" Uzumaki Nagana retorted coldly.
"Wind Release: Gale Palm!"
He clapped his palms together and thrust them outward, unleashing a highly compressed gust of wind in the direction of his palms. The resulting blast was so forceful it threatened to rupture eardrums, scattering all the poisonous needles like raindrops.
Though it was a simple and standard C-rank jutsu, the tremendous chakra behind it made its power comparable to that of a cannon, instantly clearing everything in front of him.
Shamon's expression remained impassive, as if nothing could disturb the calm in his eyes. Curling his fingers, he swiftly pulled back his arms. In an instant, five of the white puppets flashed toward Uzumaki Nagana, their arm blades slashing down.
Uzumaki Nagana responded with composure, spreading his arms wide as six golden chains erupted from his sides. The chains glimmered brightly, each end tipped with a sharp spike, resembling five bolts of golden lightning.
The sound of "pu pu pu" echoed as the five puppets hadn't even gotten close before they were pierced through their chests by the chains.
A hint of surprise flickered across Shamon's face. Under the influence of a strange force, the blue glow from the chakra strings at his fingertips flickered and then extinguished, causing the five puppets to lose control and fall to the ground like dumplings.
However, this was not the end. Shamon glanced down slightly, and the ground beneath him exploded into dust. From within the dust sprang forth a blinding golden chain, shooting straight for his chest.
But he showed no intention of dodging; with a slight push off the tips of his toes, the chain suddenly halted inches before his chest, resonating with a metallic whir as it slammed to a stop.
Uzumaki Nagana's eyes widened in astonishment as he realized the ground beneath Shamon had been covered in a peculiar sand, hardened into a solid mass, gripping the chain tightly like an iron clasp, preventing any advance.
Looking up, he saw the white figures swirling; the remaining five puppets had already launched an attack right before Uzumaki Nagana!
The battlefield dynamics shifted rapidly as Uzumaki Nagana and the Second Kazekage entangled with one another, while Uzumaki Kurami and Uzumaki Kyonoka faced their own opponents.
"Water Release: Water Hail."
Mizukage Sora brought his hands together, and the air visibly became humid. A cool breeze rolled in, and countless water droplets descended from the sky, pelting down toward the retreating Uzumaki Kyonoka.
The water hail fell like torrential rain, with each drop containing immense force capable of breaking stone. The ground quickly turned uneven, but Kyonoka danced elegantly, skillfully using her high-level movement techniques to navigate through the falling pearls of water, resembling a legendary dancer.
Her expression was not without strain, as her jade fingers held two unique sealing tags, each pulsing with potent energy that sent a chill down the spine of anyone who beheld them.
Mizukage Sora didn't know what the tags contained, but he did understand one thing: he must not allow them to get close.
His hand seals shifted instantly as he targeted Kyonoka's landing spot, unleashing a burst of water.
"Water Release: Water Arrow!"
The water surged forth, shooting like a sharpened arrow towards Kyonoka's ankle. Her beautiful eyes narrowed as she quickly bent down, sweeping her hand in defense; the water arrow struck the tag. But the penetration she expected did not occur.
The water arrow vanished in a ripple, completely absorbed by the sealing tag, which visibly dulled by more than half.
Meanwhile, Uzumaki Kurami was violently sent flying by a tremendous force, crashing to the ground. Across from him, Ōnoki hovered calmly in the air, his fist sheathed in a thick layer of rock.
"If the so-called Uzumaki clan is only capable of this, then your fate is sealed today."
He said coldly.
