STRIKER: Independent Beast Tamer

Chapter 294: Meeting with Betsy and Daniel (Restaurant)

Night Family:

After having a discussion with his family, Jeremy returned to his room. The discussion was intense, but he was glad that his parents understood everything in the end.

More importantly, he was grateful to his father. If not for his father's timely reminder, he could have made a hasty decision. He thinks it's not good to leave the members like that.

At least they should know before his departure. In that way, they can plan their future. Once he returned to the university, he decided to talk to the members.

The following day,

Jeremy spent the morning with his parents. Then he left for City A at noon. He doesn't become complacent just because he has joined the Shadow Moon Organisation. He still has his guard up.

Time passed,

The flight to City A arrived at its destination a few hours later. After a careful landing, the passengers began to exit the flight one after another.

Jeremy then followed them to leave. At the same time, he listened to the conversations of the people. He noticed most of them were discussing the increase in threats from the corrupted beasts.

It took a few seconds for him to realize that the real threats were the corrupted beasts. He was so caught up in his own circumstances that he forgot there were cities threatened by the corrupted beasts.

He pushed down the unnecessary thoughts before leaving together with the passengers.

An hour later,

Jeremy returned to the campus. He went straight to his room. It was already dusk. He was going to see what the two STRIKER Department members were doing.

After entering the room, he locked the door and went to freshen up. Not long after stepping out, he changed into comfortable clothes.

Then he made a call to Daniel Stone. The call connected quickly.

"Brother Jeremy, did you return from the wilderness?" Daniel Stone asked.

"Yes, I have returned. What are you guys doing?" Jeremy asked.

"I just returned to my room after the practice session. I guess Betsy did the same," Daniel replied.

"Okay, tomorrow meet me outside the campus. We are going to a restaurant. I have something important to discuss with you two," Jeremy said in a serious tone.

Daniel Stone immediately sensed trouble.

"Brother, what is it?" Daniel asked back. He didn't have a good feeling about this meeting.

"Don't tell Instructor Jacob. I'll tell you guys tomorrow," After saying that, Jeremy ended the call.

He didn't want to ruin the STRIKER Department in his hands. But he thought they should at least know about his future plans.

It would be nice if he could get them to join the Shadow Moon Organisation. But he knew the reality. It's not easy to survive in the top 10 zones.

Meanwhile,

Daniel Stone immediately called Betsy Lowe and informed her. She felt something unusual as well. Unlike Daniel, she didn't get dramatic. She knew Jeremy Night must have a reason for doing this meeting.

So she agreed to meet as well.

...

The following day,

Jeremy brought them to a luxurious restaurant in the morning. They were stunned. They didn't expect to see such methods from Jeremy Night.

20 minutes later,

On the top floor, inside a closed room, the three of them were looking at the delicious food on the table. The food consisted of meat slices from regular chicken and pig beasts.

Daniel Stone started to dig in right away. Betsy Lowe didn't shy away either. Seeing that, Jeremy Night was stunned. He was waiting for the right moment to break the news.

But upon seeing them enjoying their dinner, he didn't want to spoil their mood. So he joined in and started having the food.

About an hour later,

The food plates were empty. Everyone's stomachs were bloated. They couldn't afford to consume another slice of meat.

"Brother Jeremy, thanks. After a long time, I'm enjoying this kind of treat. I guess the price is almost equivalent to a Tier-3 beast corpse," Daniel said with a smile.

"The beasts were just low-tier domesticated regular beasts. But the high price is for the cooking skills of the chefs. It's not easy to find the right ingredients to make a gold dish," Betsy expressed her appreciation as well.

She thought it was the right way to start off the day by having good food.

Jeremy thought it was the right time to break the news.

"Alright, I have something important to discuss with you guys," Jeremy said.

Hearing that, Daniel and Betsy turned towards him. Both their expressions turned serious.

Jeremy nodded to them before looking around the room. They were the only ones inside, and there were no chances of eavesdropping here.

Then he turned towards them and said, "After the end of this year, I'm quitting university."

"What?" Daniel blurted out in shock.

Both of them felt as if a thunderclap had struck their heads. Daniel didn't know what to say. He was left speechless. Betsy Lowe's heart was in turmoil.

Jeremy Night is the representative of the STRIKER Department and a pillar of the group. If he were to leave the STRIKER Department, then what would happen to them?

Betsy quickly collected her thoughts. She asked, "Is this about those people who were trying to harm you?"

Daniel recovered his thoughts as well. He was realizing that it had something to do with the assassination case.

"Yes, you are right. It's not safe for me to stay in City A," Jeremy replied honestly.

"Brother, what are you saying?"

"Dean Carolyn has the same status as the City Governors; who can go against her?"

"Brother Jeremy, I think you are complicating things," Daniel said in a serious tone.

Jeremy shook his head. He didn't know whether it was okay to reveal the Shadow Moon Organisation. He thought that these two could spill news to Instructor Jacob to keep him there.

"I'm serious. It's not easy for me to train in the wilderness like I used to. There are people after my life. I have already escaped a couple of times."

"It can't be said the same thing will happen in the future. So I'm looking for a way out right now," Jeremy said to them.
