Chapter 333: Part 1: First Solo-mission
10th Zone - City A:
Shadow Moon Organization:
Inside the practice room, Jeremy has been practicing the new blade move. It's been a few days since he last completed the joint mission.
Since then, he has been staying in his room. From time to time, he would go outside the building to catch fresh air, but he didn't interact with anyone.
Buzz!
Just as he was practicing, he received a call from Leader Gisela. When he answered the call, he found Leader Gisela's voice was in a serious tone. She asked him to visit her office ASAP.
Jeremy stopped practicing after ending the call. Then he exited the training room and went to freshen up first. It didn't take long for him to change his clothes.
After getting ready, he exited the room and headed towards Team Leader Gisela's office. Her office location was mentioned in that little handbook.
So, he had no problem finding the place. Soon, he arrived in front of the office. He then informed her he had arrived. The next second, the door in front of him opened automatically.
Creak!
Seeing that, Jeremy walked inside. He then saw Leader Gisela sitting behind the desk. Upon seeing him, she asked him to sit.
Jeremy then sat opposite her. He could see that the matter was serious. He didn't know what this was about.
Gisela said, "I have asked you to come here for an important reason. We received information that there is a possible threat of a Red Ant Beast invasion."
"But we don't have enough evidence to verify it. Once we have evidence, we can report to the City Administration. After discussing it with Head Neil, I have decided to send you there to collect evidence," she added.
Hearing that, Jeremy was surprised. He hadn't expected to get a solo mission so soon.
Gisela saw Jeremy's doubts.
She said, "As I told you before, this place is hard to survive in. You won't get much free time. We always have threats from corrupted beasts."
"That's why there are numerous missions," she added.
Jeremy nodded to her in understanding, but he still had some doubts. He asked, "Leader, why don't you send someone from the 1st squad?"
This was his genuine doubt because the first squad members are Tier-5 Beast Tamers. They can easily solve the problem of collecting evidence.
Gisela raised her eyebrows in surprise. She wasn't expecting him to ask questions back.
She replied, "They were all given different missions to do. We are short-handed. Only you can do it because your actual combat strength is Tier-4 level."
Hearing the honest answer from her, a smile appeared on Jeremy's face. He has been practicing in his training room, and he thinks it's not bad to go outside right now.
"Okay, I'll do it; give me the location," Jeremy said.
Gisela said, "I'll send the location to your device. Remember, someone from our office will drop you off in the wilderness."
"Once you complete the mission, contact him. He will pick you up from the same spot," she added.
"Okay, when should I leave?" Jeremy asked.
"Right now, it's best. We only need video evidence. Remember to record it well," Gisela said.
Hearing that, Jeremy nodded to her and stood up from his seat to leave. Then he walked out of the room.
Once he was gone, Gisela sighed in relief. She was worried that Jeremy would not agree to this mission. But thankfully, nothing like that had happened.
They were really short of elite beast tamers. She believes Jeremy can handle this mission. It's just a field mission. As long as Jeremy doesn't come across powerful corrupted beasts and hostile mercenaries, he will be safe.
Meanwhile,
Jeremy returned to his room. He then checked out the address. He found out that the possible site is located quite deep. Yet the place still comes under the outer part of the wilderness.
It's not even the inner part. If it were the 14th city's wilderness, then it would be considered the core part of the wilderness. But he was not afraid.
With his eye ability, he can avoid Tier-5 and above corrupted beasts. But he doesn't have a device to record it. He decides to ask someone in the office later.
Then he walked into the bathroom to take a cold shower. He spent 20 minutes in the bath. After stepping outside, he changed into the black uniform with the full moon insignia.
Then he packed the armor and placed it inside the storage ring. He has decided to wear it outside when he enters the wilderness.
If he wears this armor suit right now, it would attract unwanted attention.
After getting ready, he went to the first floor to meet with the staff. The staff members were all surprised. They didn't expect the newcomer to come to see them.
Jeremy then made his request. After learning that he needs a recording device, one of the staff members went into another room to bring it.
All of them were quite curious, but Jeremy didn't want to tell them.
Shortly afterward,
The staff brought the recording device. Jeremy accepted the device and placed it inside the storage ring. He then thanked the staff before heading toward the entrance.
"Where do you think he's going?" one of the staff asked. She was a female staff member and a friend of Elina. If Elina was here, she would have definitely asked the questions.
"I think it's a mission," a male staff member replied.
The female staff rolled her eyes at him. She could even tell that. It's just they don't know what kind of mission it is.
Jeremy arrived at the parking area, where he saw someone already waiting for him. It's the staff member sent by Leader Gisela.
He was a short, middle-aged man. Upon seeing him, he greeted Jeremy with a smile.
"Drop me at the eastern side of the wilderness outside," Jeremy told the staff.
The staff agreed. He then entered and sat in the back seat.
The staff then sat in the driver's seat and started driving toward the location. No one had a clue that Jeremy Night was going to undertake a dangerous mission.
