Strongest Demigod System

Chapter 21: Scar

"The next person that shouts is going to have to deal with me."

The class went silent from the threat and many of the students started to move away from the circle to avoid getting on the boy's bad side.

"Hey dude, let's go. I don't want to piss off Henry."

"I heard he broke someone's hand back in middle school."

"You heard about that too? I heard he beat up a senior once and he was sent to the gulag for a month!"

"I heard he was the first person in our year to ever go to the gulag. They have a special room just for him!"

The group of kids all spoke in hushed whispers as they moved away from the crowd and Gerald clicked his tongue in irritation before turning away from Tiana and her friend.

Even though Gerald was someone who didn't think twice about offending people, he was still smart enough not to piss off the most violent person in their class.

"Just get away from my sight, second rate."

Gerald threw out one last insult and Tiana's friend slammed her hand on Gerald's table.

"We're not going anywhere until you apologize for what you said. Tiana loved Francis, so you have no right to talk about him like that in front of her."

"Hey, you didn't hear me?"

Henry spoke up once more as his eyes narrowed into a glare and Tiana sensed the danger and immediately started to pull her friend away while saying that it was fine! Gerald was just talking, so it didn't really matter!

It would be bad if they pissed off Henry and ended up getting into a fight!

Azrael calmly walked past the bickering trio and started to make his way to his seat at the back of the class while Tiana pulled her friend away. As Azrael passed beside Tiana, his eyes caught her own only for a short moment and Azrael could see that she had really been crying her heart out from how red and puffy her eyes were. Francis' death must've really gotten to her.

Tiana looked away from Azrael when she noticed him looking at her and she hid behind her friend again as they left.

"Hohoho, if it isn't the EX Rank wonderkid. Didn't think I'd see someone as popular as you hanging out with we lowly commoners."

Gerald couldn't help but make a comment as he saw Azrael passing and Azrael eyed him calmly without bothering to say anything in response. On any other day, a comment like that would've gotten under Azrael's skin and fueled his anger, but now, there was nothing at all for Azrael to be angry about. Azrael's ice-cold stare was the only reaction that Gerald got from him.

Azrael took his seat at the back and began getting his recording device and notes ready for the lecture when he noticed someone appear in front of him. It was Jane Ashton and the people in the class began to whisper once they saw her standing in front of Azrael's seat.

"Where did you go yesterday?"

Azrael stared up at the blonde girl with a look of utter confusion on his face. Azrael's confusion wasn't just because of her question, but it was also from the fact that Jane was talking to him at all! Azrael could count on one hand the number of times he and Jane had spoken to each other in the past two years and not once had she ever approached him like this!

"Why the fuck are you asking me that? I don't see how what I do is any of your business."

Azrael's rude response made Jane narrow her eyes in irritation and many of the people around them began to whisper once more as they watched the scene play out.

Jane sighed to the side to release some of the irritation that she felt from Azrael's answer. Jane had just been trying to look out for Azrael because of all the things that had happened yesterday. When Jane heard that Francis was killed in the school yesterday, she immediately remembered that Azrael had left to go to the gym instead of going home, so he would've most likely been in school as well.

Jane and Azrael weren't close, so Jane could only mask her worry as a curiosity instead. But since Azrael was being so dismissive, Jane decided that she didn't need to worry about Azrael anymore.

Jane spoke up while walking away to her seat.

"You should work on that damn personality. And I was only asking because Headmistress Francesca told me to tell you that you're in a lot of trouble. You were meant to see her yesterday, but you skipped out on the meeting, didn't you? Typical."

Azrael had been irritated when Jane told him to work on his personality, but once he heard her say that Francesca was pissed at him, Azrael groaned internally and put his head in his hand! He fucking forgot again! What the hell was wrong with him!?

Well, Azrael couldn't really blame himself for forgetting after what happened yesterday! It wasn't like he could go see the headmistress with blood all over his body! And before that, he had been beaten up by Francis, so he had no choice in that as well.

But, Azrael really couldn't just come out and say that he was beaten up by Francis yesterday, could he? If Azrael said something like that, then whoever was in charge of investigating this situation would realize that Azrael was also in school late last night and they would start looking into what Azrael had been doing! That would be a bad idea!

Wouldn't it be better to just say that he forgot and went home right after working out? Azrael nodded as he decided that this was a better excuse! This way, he wouldn't have any ties to Francis from yesterday.

Ka-Cha!

The door to the classroom opened again and a man walked in with his nose buried in a book. The man walked over to the table in front of the class and then set his book down to reveal a nonchalant face and bored eyes that scanned over the classroom slowly.

The students all scrambled to get to their seats once they realized that this had to be their homeroom teacher and he waited for all of them to be seated calmly. The man had long brown hair that came down to frame his face at the side and was tied into a ponytail behind him. His eyes were golden brown and he wore round glasses that made him look a little like a nerd.

But his eyes were piercing and intense in a way that would make anyone nervous! Just from staring into his eyes, you could tell that this was someone who had been through hell itself and had come out on the other side!

When he was sure that all the students were seated, he put his book aside and spoke up. His first words shocked everyone!

"Hello, future killers, and welcome to Demigod Academy. I'm your homeroom teacher, Scar. You will refer to me as Mr. Scar and nothing else. I understand you are all very excited about becoming high schoolers, but make no mistake about what you are doing in this school. Middle school was a time for you kids to enjoy yourselves and learn how to be human, but from here on out, you are learning how to become the most ruthless killer you possibly can. In high school, you will be graded only by how well you are capable of taking the lives of daemons and how good you are at guiding others to do the same. Is that understood?"
