Sun God's Chronicles

Chapter 16: Familiar Adventurers

In the blink of an eye, five years have passed. And it's been five years since the last time I've seen Shyazel, which was on the day he kissed me.

"(I didn't even notice but I've been in this world for 15 years already. Time sure flies. And Shyazel is still missing.)"

I was planning on fucking him when I reached adulthood in this world, and I reached it three years ago, but he was nowhere to be seen since that day. Again, I never really went after him but I felt like there was no need to. As the forest is his territory, and he knows everything that happens inside of it, if I ever tried to find him he would just avoid me. Because of that, I decided to leave him be, after all, he'd look for me himself if he wanted it.

"(I'm curious about what he is doing. Is he afraid of my response? Could be.)"

As expected, since his disappearance, the forest was left on its own. Adventurers soon found out the guardian of the forest had vanished and began to raid the place. Since it was a good opportunity to grow stronger, I actively went after them and used all encounters to hone my energy and body, killing almost all of them in the process. Time and time again, many and many adventurers died by my hands but I always left one or two alive so they could spread the world and invite even stronger adventurers. Like that, it didn't take long for me to be known as Black Forest's Nightmare.

"(Quite a fitting nickname.)"

Because of those encounters, I fully developed my energy and achieved my ideal physique. A body build literally massive in all senses of the word that maximizes strength. I grew to be just as tall as an orc, with a normal human male reaching about my crotch. Burly and thick-waisted, my arms are larger than a human's torso, though my legs are much larger, and on each hand I can easily fit a human head. Although, unfortunately, I'm still very far from my peak strength.

"(But I can always achieve it by fighting challeging opponents.)"

As Shyazel wasn't a very reliable source of information about the outside world, but an excelent one about monsters, I also took the chance to understand the world I was in through the countless adventurers who tried their best in taking me down.

"(Much better than staying oblivious about things.)"

And from the information I extracted, I discovered many interesting things: there is a massive tower known as Babel and it is located in a place called Orario, the City of Gods, on top of the Great Dungeon that is rumored to have more than a hundred floors, with each one being bigger than the previous; gods of many pantheons exist and they live among men in Orario, the city they build after coming down; people have multiple types of use for the energy that they refine from the atmosphere to make it their own and they can chose to be melee combatants, mages and priests; mages and priests channel their energy from within to affect the world around them while melee combatants channel their energy from within to affect their own bodies; melee weapons, grimoires and staves, used by adventurers, all have abilities, depending on their function in the party and anyone can use them if they get to have it, although their effects depend of how much the adventurer is trained in that area; everyone, from peasantry to royalty, can develop themselves to be anything they want as long as they develop their fighting skills, knowledge or faith; and lastly, even if a warrior has used the sword for their whole life, they can grab a grimoire and simply "switch" to a mage whenever but, of course, they have to begin from start to develop themselves as a mage as well as study spells.

"(This world is full of fascinating concepts. And I bet there are even more things I don't even know about. I'm really excited to uncover everything. But first, I should start with the forest.)"

Despite living in the Black Forest for 15 years already, I've yet to explore it as I solely focused on establishing the foundations of my powers. And, from what I heard adventurers saying, the forest is absolutely massive. Just to cross it, on foot since no horse enter it, would take almost a month. Because of its size, adventurers also call the forest, The Endless Forest.

"(Gonna take some time to fully explore it. But I have lots of time.)"

Floating in the blue pond while facing up, I watch the immense black trees which branches and red leaves are so spread and big that almost completely block sunlight. Hence the name, Black Forest.

"Alright, enough of being a lazy ass. Time to look around. Delayed that for far too long."

Swimming out of the water, I briefly raise my body temperature to evaporate the water covering me. Once I'm dry, I look around, choose a direction and walk in it. While walking, I go to any kind of unusual sound or smell I detect with my senses. Like that, I find all kinds of things: unique animals, unusual plants, living things that shouldn't be alive and a party of adventurers that just entered a goblin's cave. From their sillhouettes, it's a group of three women and a man. From their body shapes and equipments, I can't help but feel they are familiar.

"(A solid party. Two are close damage dealers, one is a ranged damage dealer and the other is the support with healing, debuffs and barriers. But where are they from? Can't remember.)"

However, just by looking at the size of the cave's entrance, I know that goblin nest has at least one orc living inside. Orcs are the penultimate form in goblin evolution, coming before trolls and their ultimate form, ogres. Curiously enough, monsters grow stronger by eating the cores of other monsters, or consuming the energy of non-monsters, when they fill themselves with enough energy they either grow stronger or their body can go through a radical change and they "evolve", though people in this world call it "Rank-Up". While looking at the cave's entrance, I notice a small bone totem nearby and smile.

"(A shaman's totem. Those adventurers are utterly fucked if either that orc or the shaman is in there.)"

Shamans are a variation of an species and they are just like humans priests, specialized in support. Turning around, I look at the cave and smile.

"(Sounds interesting enough.)

Walking into it, I muffle my sounds and bend light around me to turn myself invisible and follow after them. They leisurely talk and jest, it's like they are walking around the city instead of exploring the innards of a goblin's cave. A cave where an orc lives.

"(They must be rookie adventurers if they couldn't see that. This will be very amusing.)"

The smell outside was already unbearable but the smell here surpasses that by far, luckily I can block my sense of smell as easily as opening and closing my hand, which is what I already did way before stepping in this nasty place.

"(Fucking hate how filthy these creatures are.)"

We continue walking but it doesn't take long for goblins to appear and for the adventurers to start acting serious, just a little however. The man rushes forward while swinging his longsword and slicing goblins up. A young woman goes right after him, protecting his back, she is quite good at martial arts and very strong, for a human, killing goblins left and right with just a single punch or kick. The two other women, who were left a little behind, rapidly follows after them. One opens a book and summons different elements to aid her fellow party members in taking down goblins while the other reinforces the bodies of the melee combatants and casts barriers to protect them. Their party has quite some synergy but they have too many bad habits. The swordsman is impatient and reckless, the martial artist's movements are big and predictable with too many openings, the witch completely disregard others and instead of covering them she wants the spotlight and the priestess, as the most important of the group and who should be the leader, is too lenient with all of them.

"(It doesn't seem to be their first time fighting together but that kind of firepower is nowhere enough to take down an orc. They are tough and have decent regeneration, leagues below a troll's but still powerful enough to make them harder to kill... They will crumble.)"

We explore the cave and reach a very wide open area with many other tunnels, it's the goblin's nest. And just like I predicted, after killing a decent amount of goblins and collecting their right ears, they get face to face with not one, not two and neither three but four orcs along with dozens of goblins who were having fun with bound women. The height difference is blatant, even standing straight the swordsman reaches slightly above the orc's hips. And to worsen it all, right in the middle of the nest is the shaman, sitting on a bone throne is the leader of this cave system, of the goblin's nest. From its body shape and appearance it is a hobgoblin shaman, another tough enemy for them to take down.

"(If there wasn't an orc and it was a normal hobgoblin they'd have a small chance. But they're pretty much dead now, they just don't know.)"

Channeling the fearless spirit humans have, the swordsman's sword and limbs changes color to blue as he infuses his energy in them, a high-grade technique, and rushes at one orc. He slices apart multiple goblins in the way and then swings his bloodstained, energy-infused sword at the orc. The orc, however, simply lifts his arm, grabs the sword and chuckles. A confused expression appears on the swordsman's face but then the shaman speaks in goblin language and waves his staff and a blue and red glow appears surrounding the orc's body who just got reinforced by the shaman. The orc sneers and punches the swordsman with his other hand. Reacting fast enough, the swordsman blocks the immense fist with the sword but is launched back, hitting the other women and taking them to the ground with him. His sword breaks.

"(He took that? I'm impressed... No, who am I trying to fool? His body is a mess, he will die in just a bit. He just doesn't know.)"

The martial artist quickly gets on her foot and rushes at the orc, and, while wrapping Force around her limbs, she kicks him. The orc merely grabs her foot and chuckles before smashing her against the ground, twice, making her cough up lots of blood with multiple broken limbs in her body. Screams and wails resound throughout the nest's walls. The swordsman gets up from the ground, he is pissed. The witch also gets up and shoots out elemental projectiles but a barrier the shaman summons protects the orc from taking any damage. The priestess heals swordsman's body and readies a heal to cast on the martial artist but the shaman laughs and waves his staff, dark tendrils come out from the ground hold the priestess and the mage down, also covering their mouths, preventing them from taking any action. The other orcs stop fucking the women and stand up, the swordsman, however, looks at his party members. Two of them were rendered useless while the other was heavily damaged and her life is hanging on a thread. He grits his teeth, summons all his energy into the hilt of his broken sword, creates a sword made out of pure energy and cuts the tendrils restricting the witch and the priestess before ordering them to get out.

"(Look at that. He's not that much of an idiot. And he's quite talented too, to create an energy sword is no easy feat.)"

The women objects but as the orc begins to advance at them in large strides, the swordsman shouts at them and buys them time by engaging in a battle with the orc. I believe he knows both him and the martial artist will die. Without any other option, they run. The shaman, however, casts more debuffs and tries to keep them there but the priestess was ready and she uses up almost all her energy to create an extremely potent wall behind them. As they run, the swordsman dies, brutally beaten by the orc quartet and the shaman heals the martial artist before starting to fuck her.

"(Well, I thought all of them were going to die but the swordsman proved me wrong. Guess I should fix that.)"

Straightening myself up, I turn myself visible and reveal my presence to grab the heads of the witch and the priestess when they try to run by me without even noticing me.

"Go back."
