Chapter 112: The Great Event I: The Dragon Ninja Battle (Part 7)

July 4th, 10:48 AM, Luo Dehua Commercial Street, Second Layer of Wanxiang City.

Bai Zini held a dolphin stuffed toy in one arm and a cellphone in the other, a shopping bag slung over her shoulder, as she walked out of the toy store, head bowed, engrossed in her phone.

She soon realized something was amiss.

The entire mall was eerily silent, and from a corner of Wanxiang City, a sobbing sound could be faintly heard. Turning to look, she saw that all the tourists had been herded into a corner, silenced.

"Zi Ling, is she among that group of tourists?" Bai Zini frowned, wondering.

She remembered Bai Ziling was just next door in the video game store playing Metal Slug, but now she was nowhere to be seen.

Bai Zini turned her cheek slightly, casting a glance backward with her peripheral vision, only to see the toy store owner who had been enthusiastically greeting her moments ago now passed out on the counter.

When she turned her head back, she was already surrounded by over a dozen ninjas.

Some held long swords, others daggers, their unemotional gazes fixed on her.

"Please cooperate with us, we have no intention of harming children," one of the ninjas said.

"Where's the dragon of calamity?"

The only one dressed slightly differently among the ninjas came over, asking.

His name was Wang Minghai, the Sect Master's second disciple. At that moment, he was dressed in a purple suit with a clean-cut crew cut, his face expressing frivolity.

"At the fifth-floor cinema."

"Then I'll go look for the dragon," said Wang Minghai, "The Sect Master said to protect that guy's family, so take this little girl away."

As Bai Zini overheard their conversation, she slipped her phone back into her pocket and raised her right hand, holding up her index and middle finger.

"See these two fingers?" she asked.

The surrounding ninjas, including Wang Minghai, fell silent, exchanging puzzled glances, their eyes betraying astonishment.

They seemed unclear why Bai Zini was suddenly making a "peace" hand sign.

Bai Zini lowered her face, looking at them coldly, and continued, "This is not a sign of love and peace, nor is it a V-sign for a selfie. Instead, it means... you won't live past two seconds from now."

With that, she pulled a collapsible umbrella from her shopping bag.

Starting from the tip of the umbrella, a murky blend of grey and black hues flowed past, engulfing the umbrella like a tide, and soon the lower half of the folding umbrella transformed into a magic wand.

Time seemed to pause at that second, as intricate floral patterns grew ominously on the surface of the umbrella, eventually linked together by a ring of thorns.

As the magical umbrella "Cinderella" took its full form, light cocooned Bai Zini's body.

Magical Girl Ash reached out her right hand and flicked a lock of hair from her forehead, shattering the light cocoon in an instant. Her black hair fell like a waterfall behind her, as the gothic skirt fluttered in the wind.

She lifted her face, slowly looking up, her pupils as piercing as a pool of clear water under the moonlight.

"A magic girl?" Wang Minghai was taken aback for a second, "That guy's sister is actually a magic girl."

As he spoke, Magical Girl Ash had already charged forward, turning into a blur as she rushed in front of him, lifting Cinderella and forcing the umbrella tip into his slightly open mouth.

Her index finger pulled the trigger.

Bang!

There was a gunshot, but Wang Minghai's throat did not burst open with a bloody wound because he had pulled out a scroll at that moment, and using the scroll's power, he turned to ink and teleported to a distance.

The ten nearby ninjas realized something was wrong and hurled throwing stars at Ash, coming at her like a swarm of dark birds, their sharp beaks lunging.

The gothic girl drew a bright tachi from underneath Cinderella's canopy, her fair fingers gripping the handle slightly as grey magic power coated the blade.

Then, pivoting around herself, she slashed diagonally in a circle.

Ripples of magic spread from the blade, resembling a dark full moon, deflecting all the daggers in the blink of an eye and then cutting towards the waists of the ten ninjas.

Thud!

As the sharp sound tore through the air, a vicious gash suddenly appeared on the ninjas' waists. Even at a distance, the wounds were nearly enough to cut them in half.

They had no choice but to stare wide-eyed and awkwardly clutching their wounds as they scrambled away.

Magical Girl Ash raised her eyes, one hand holding the tachi, the other the Cinderella, and said in a cold tone, "If I hadn't held back, you indeed wouldn't have lived past two seconds."

Wang Minghai watched her with interest, discarding the spent scroll and pulling two more scrolls from inside his suit jacket.

"Don't meddle, I can handle this guy," he ordered.

The ninjas nodded and retreated to the shadows, while a few continued to watch over the tourists on the second floor to keep them from causing any commotion.

However, with the arrival of Magical Girl Ash, an exclamation of surprise erupted from among the tourists.

"It's a magic girl, the magic girl is here to save us!"

"It's Ash, that's Ash, I know her!"

"We're saved, she is the strongest magic girl next to Xizi Yue."

Magical Girl Ash met Wang Minghai's gaze and asked almost word for word, "Who exactly are you?"

"I'm a ninja, well, I haven't really been a ninja for many years now, currently dabbling in the finance industry, never thought that old man would call me back." Wang Minghai licked his lips, "But after seeing you, I suddenly don't regret it, who wouldn't want to be with a magic girl..."
