Superman's Saiyan little brother

Chapter 566: Chapter 566: Anxiety and Struggle

Despite the intense battle around him, Servis remained steadfast in his decision to lie down and wait for death. This was his final act of defiance. In contrast, Grant was bewildered. He was confident that Robert, without using his light-attribute power, was not his match. He had even wounded Robert in their recent exchange. However, he couldn't understand why Robert seemed to grow stronger and why a sense of impending danger kept rising within him. Was Robert about to break his promise and use his light-attribute power?

The thought of Robert using the light attribute again made Grant panic, causing his attacks to become stiff and awkward. Robert seized the opportunity and launched a counterattack, sending Grant flying.

Robert's strategy often relied on exploiting his enemies' mistakes, allowing him to gain the upper hand. His focus and singular dedication to the fight enabled him to capitalize on even the slightest lapses in his opponents' concentration. Robert's adversaries had never been able to match his unwavering combat instincts, and this had often led to his victories against stronger foes. Moreover, Robert's ability to grow stronger during battles allowed him to turn the tide in his favor.

As Robert continued his relentless assault, Grant found himself increasingly pressured. Despite regaining his composure and fighting back, the battle's dynamics had shifted. Robert's increasing strength made it impossible for Grant to regain his earlier dominance. With each passing moment, the sense of danger grew clearer to Grant, who began to foresee his eventual defeat.

"Why bother? Just lie down like me. Fighting only gives him pleasure. This guy is terrifying—not only is he powerful, but he also loves battle and grows stronger during it. What kind of race is he? One born for combat?" Servis muttered as he observed the battle's shift, his mind racing with questions about Robert's origins and abilities.

For Servis, Robert's power to restrain them seemed like a racial trait, one he couldn't fathom. But Robert had no intention of answering these doubts, preferring to let his enemies die with their unanswered questions.

The battle between Robert and Grant settled into a rhythm, with Grant's fate seeming increasingly sealed as he couldn't draw more power from his true form.

Meanwhile, in other battlefields, the situations varied. Kara's side, as Robert and Clark had predicted, was faring well. After unleashing her light, Kara's opponent, despite reaching the Earth's dimensional limit for a strong being, was no match for her. Each of Kara's attacks inflicted real, hard-to-heal damage, and her enemy was nearing death.

In Kamar-Taj, the battle initially seemed dire. The powerful enemies overwhelmed Kamar-Taj's members, who, despite their experience, struggled against such formidable foes. Maintaining the mirror dimension while managing multiple battlefronts proved too taxing. Several members fainted from exhaustion.

Fortunately, Robert had quickly taken over Grant, allowing Clark to intervene. Clark swiftly eliminated the dimensional strongman threatening Kamar-Taj, becoming the first invader to have his consciousness and power eradicated, returning his essence to his true form.

"What happened on Earth? Where are they? Why did you descend with such power? Did Ancient One target you?" Hercules demanded as the defeated strongman returned to the dark dimension.

"Ancient One hasn't appeared, but the mirror dimension did. The two strongmen Servis mentioned attacked. We found the perfect vampire you spoke of but couldn't capture him," the returning strongman replied, trembling.

"Useless!" Hercules roared, unleashing his power and shattering the strongman's body, absorbing his strength.

This display did not go unnoticed by other strongmen in the dark dimension, who silently acknowledged Hercules's growing desperation. His failures meant he could no longer seek favor with their lord and might even face severe punishment. Without the lord's power, Hercules's arrogance would invite retribution.

Realizing this, Hercules refrained from further violence against his peers, aware that a massacre would provoke collective resistance and alert their lord.

Hercules's priority was now to resolve the situation on Earth. If he could bring back Morbius and Blade, fixing the dark dimension's flaw, he would avoid punishment and even advance his position.

He focused on Grant and Servis, who had fully descended and made a deal with the Earth's dimension. Infusing one of them with power might help them turn the tide.

Appearing beside Servis, Hercules deemed him a better choice than the unreliable Grant. Transferring a portion of his power to Servis's true form, he sent it through their connection to the human form on Earth.

Lying in a crater, Servis suddenly felt his power surge. He instinctively sensed the source of this strength and realized what was happening.

"Hercules is giving me power to break the stalemate? What's the point? Even if he were here, fully powered, the Earth dimension would still strip some of it, and he wouldn't beat this battle maniac," Servis muttered, continuing to lie down, unwilling to fight Robert.

Servis saw clearly that even with enhanced power, he couldn't win without overcoming the light attribute's restraint. Thus, he chose to wait for death, convinced of his inevitable defeat.

Unaware of Servis's resignation, Hercules believed the power transfer would enable Servis to change the outcome or at least escape with Blade and Morbius. But Servis made no move.

As Hercules stopped the transfer, another strongman's consciousness returned. This was Kara's opponent, killed by her light-imbued punches.

"Is Servis breaking the stalemate?" Hercules asked urgently, appearing beside the bewildered strongman.

"Uh?" The strongman, still dazed from Kara's beating, looked confused.

Growing impatient, Hercules grabbed the strongman's head, forcefully probing his mind.

"Damn it! Why is there no reaction? Even with countermeasures, I transferred so much power. There should be a significant difference. Even if they can't win, they should at least escape..." Hercules muttered, his frustration mounting.

"Should I switch targets? These failures are useless. Better reclaim my losses and empower Grant!" Hercules decided, eyes gleaming with resolve.

The bewildered strongman barely had time to react before Hercules enveloped him in power, absorbing him completely. He then turned to the remaining two strongmen, swallowing them before they could return to their true forms. This caused their avatars fighting the Martian Hunter and Avengers to suddenly freeze, their consciousnesses gone and power dissipating.

"What's happening?" The Avengers were puzzled by their enemies' sudden halt, but the Martian Hunter quickly understood.

"Their consciousnesses vanished? Did something happen to their true forms?"

While other battlefronts concluded, Robert's fight intensified. He had begun to gain the upper hand but was caught off guard when Grant's power suddenly spiked. Quick reflexes saved him from serious harm, but Robert found himself in a fierce struggle against the newly empowered Grant.
