Chapter 701: Level 100 No Longer a Threath

The demons in the city were alerted when they heard the sound of fighting, and many of them abandoned what they were doing and rushed outside to find the one responsible for the commotion.

Nox stood in the middle of the destroyed gate, watching as the army of demons charged at him.

There was a disappointed look on his face because...

"They're all weak. The ones I'm looking for are still behind," he mumbled to himself with a frown on his face.

Within the city, he could sense at least three more level 100s.

"There are three more within the city," he said after a moment of silence.

"Three more?" Jack asked, wiping dark blood from his odachi.

"Three more level 100s," Nox replied, slowly stepping forward, his dark eyes gleaming ominously.

The faces of the soldiers behind immediately turned pale. Although Nox was strong and had easily killed a level 100 demon, they didn't really think he had a chance against three level 100s!

"What are you planning to do?" Ria asked. She was still new to the group and hadn't seen Nox in a serious fight before, hence she had doubts.

She was certain that not even her brother, who was the strongest youngster she knew personally, could fight three level 100s and come out unscathed.

"Yes, I'll go face them. You two, along with the army, will deal with the small fries."

Ria's face twitched. "How arrogant... what does he take us for?" she mumbled beneath her breath, glaring at Nox's back.

"Well, I won't call him arrogant," Jack replied, gripping his blade tightly as arcs of lightning started to swirl around it.

"Nox is strong and incomprehensible most times. That's what I've realized during my short stay with him," he explained. "Most times, the best you can do is listen. If not, you'll end up getting in his way."

Ria didn't look convinced; however, she knew there was nothing she could do in this situation.

Suddenly, a loud crack echoed across the sky.

Everyone looked up.

"It seems one of them came to receive us already." Nox's eyes flashed dangerously as he looked upward.

On top of the tallest spire at the heart of the duchy town, a figure with a long crimson cloak flapping behind it stood. Unlike the demons below, there was something special about this one.

It had a humanoid form, with frost details all over its body. The demon was elegant, and simply standing there gave off a terrifying, lethal aura.

Jack let out a whistle, and Ria took a fighting stance.

For some seconds, there was silence, and the only sound was that of the demon lord's cloak flapping.

Then the demon spoke.

"You humans don't learn." Its voice echoed across the battlefield effortlessly.

Slowly, Nox flapped his wings, flying into the air and only stopping when he was at eye level with the demon.

The demon lord turned its attention to the human hovering before him, and a brief gleam of surprise flashed through its eyes.

"A level 100 at such a young age?" The demon lord's voice was filled with disbelief.

"I would've liked to chat more with you, demon lord, but I'm running out of time. So, how many minutes do you think it would take me to kill you?" Nox asked.

The question sounded like the most normal thing ever; however, it made the demon lord's face twitch with irritation.

"How dare you!" he roared as he slowly raised his hand into the air.

The snowstorm around the town suddenly froze in place—literally. Each snowflake was suspended midair. Time seemed to halt.

"What the hell is this…" one soldier gasped.

The demon pointed a finger at Nox.

"You have potential," the demon said simply. "So I'll make this quick."

In that moment, dozens of enormous ice spears erupted from thin air, each as thick as a carriage and moving faster than arrows.

"TitanRock Barrier!" Nox's calm voice echoed, and instantly, a wall rose from the ground, shielding the army behind him.

All the demon's ice attacks slammed into the barrier—

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

When the rain of attacks ended and the dust cleared, the fortified wall still remained intact, with not even a single dent on it.

"Impress—"

"Now it's my turn!" Nox smirked as he charged forward and swung his blade violently at the demon lord.

The clash between Nox and the frost demon lord was brutal and fast. To the soldiers below, it looked like two streaks of light clashing again and again in the air, each blow shaking the sky.

Right at the same time, the demon army and the human army clashed as well.

Within the duchy, two demon lords stood atop the balcony of an old cathedral. It was a woman and a male, both of them possessing striking features.

"I can no longer sense Lokan. Whatever attacked the town has probably gotten him," said the woman as she threw a monster core into her mouth and started chewing.

The male furrowed his brows. "Do you think he'll do the same to Goro as well?"

"Goro should be able to hold them back," she replied. "Besides, someone needs to keep watch on the humans before they do something stupid."

"Should? That means you're not confident he coul—"

The woman simply shrugged. "I mean, Lokan was killed, so I'm not too—"

"Aghhhhhhhhhhhhh!"

Right at that moment, there was a thunderous roar, filled with desperation and anguish!

"That voice..." Their eyes widened.

Some time later, they stopped hearing any more voices.

A pale expression crossed the demoness's face, and in a grim, dark, bland, low voice she muttered, "I can't sense Goro anymore."

"Dang, he got killed too?" The male demon was frustrated. "Just who is this attacker!"

A strange silence fell upon the demon pair. The woman clenched her jaw, her sharp teeth grinding together as she crushed the monster core between them.

"Come on. Let's go find this person—and go all out from the start!" the woman said. A pair of demonic wings grew out from the backs of both of them as they flew toward Nox's direction.

Meanwhile, Gabriel watched the dead body of the demon lord with a cold look on his face.

"Once upon a time, I was nearly killed by a demon lord. But today..." A grin appeared on Nox's face. "Level 100 is no longer a threat!"
