Chapter 167: Divine Sight Glasses!
[Part 1/4 of today's Mass release! Here you go fellas!]
Hugo finally collapsed onto his bed, gasping for air as the last remnants of his manic celebration faded.
Ten minutes.
That's how long it had taken him to calm down after screaming like he'd won the lottery, punched a hole in a wall, and possibly scared Collins into Googling "how to handle a possessed roommate."
As his heart rate returned to something resembling normal, Hugo wiped a bead of sweat from his forehead and stared at the floating screen in front of him, where the words [EPIC GRADE: Divine Sight Glasses] were still glowing like a trophy.
He couldn't believe it. Epic grade. The highest possible reward tier from the Advanced Gift Box Wheel. And he had spun it! Him!
"It's real," he muttered, pinching himself just to make sure he wasn't dreaming. "I really pulled another epic grade item!"
This wasn't even his first time getting an epic item. His first epic reward, the Puzzle of Secrets, had felt just as life-changing at the time… until he realised it was a 2,000-piece jigsaw puzzle that unlocked secrets about his target once completed.
Naturally, Hugo had chosen to use it on Loli, the mysterious girl who'd been the most mysterious of the girls he knew, but after weeks of trying, he was barely halfway through.
He scratched the back of his head, grimacing. 'Why'd they make the pieces so tiny? I'm not a puzzle guy! I'm a 'press buttons and win' kinda guy!'
With a sigh, Hugo shook his head and focused on the new prize. His hands trembled as he picked the Divine Sight Glasses from his lap.

The sleek, black rimmed glasses was held in his hand, glowing faintly like they held the secrets of the universe.
"Alright, what do you do?" Hugo muttered, opening the description with bated breath.
[Divine Sight Glasses: Allows the user to see through the clothing of any target. Usage limit: 5 times per day.]
Hugo blinked. Then blinked again. Then froze.
"Wait… WHAT?!"
He reread the description, his mouth falling open as the reality of the situation hit him like a lightning bolt. He sat there, completely still, his brain trying to process what he'd just read.
"See… through clothes?" he whispered, his voice a mix of shock, disbelief, and… giddy excitement.
Slowly, a grin began to spread across his face. It started small, like he was trying to hold it back, but soon it grew into the kind of smile that could make a clown jealous.
And then, the madness returned.
"THIS. IS. AMAZING!" Hugo bellowed, leaping off the bed like it was spring-loaded. He started pacing around his room, clutching the glasses like they were some kind of sacred relic.
"This isn't just an item. This is art. No, this is a masterpiece! This is a divine gift from the heavens! Thank you, system!"
He laughed like a man possessed, spinning around in circles as he thought of all the possibilities. His mind raced through his targets, his grin widening with each name.
"Luna… oh, she's gonna get punished for not allowing me seal it with Jessica," he said, rubbing his hands together.
"Emily? Yeah, she's always acting so high and mighty. Let's see how mighty she truly is when I—"
He stopped, his eyes gleaming mischievously. "Hilary… oh, Hilary. Don't even get me started. But the real prize…"
Hugo's voice dropped to a whisper as he imagined her: his sexy, curvy, way-too-hot-for-this-universe milf professor.
"Professor Delaney…" he sighed dreamily, clutching the glasses to his chest like a love-struck teenager. "Oh, these glasses are going to change my life."
He was so tempted to try them right now, but he shook his head, forcing himself to calm down.
"No, no. Patience, Hugo. Patience. These aren't just glasses; they're a weapon. A tactical advantage! And the best time to use a weapon is when the baddies come out at midnight."
He nodded firmly, imagining himself prowling the streets after midnight, testing the glasses on the boldest, most daring women he could find.
"Yes. Tonight. That's when I'll unleash the power."
But just as Hugo started putting the glasses away, another thought struck him. He still had points left. 500 points, to be exact.
And now that he'd hit an epic grade reward, maybe his luck was finally turning around.
"Do I spin again?" he muttered, pacing back and forth. "I said I'd save the points. I promised myself I'd save them. But…"
He glanced at the wheel, which seemed to sparkle even brighter, as if it were calling to him.
"Epic grade items are rare," he reasoned, rubbing his chin. "What if I'm on a hot streak? What if I spin again and get something even better? What if I get, like, an artifact that makes me irresistible to women? Or… or…"
Hugo shook his head, slapping his cheeks. "No! Be smart, Hugo. Save the points. Play the long game. Don't be greedy!"
He took a deep breath, trying to resist the temptation. But then, another voice—his inner devil—chimed in.
"Come on, Hugo," it whispered seductively. "What's the point of saving points if you're already this lucky? You could get another epic! Or maybe even 2 more!"
"2 more Epic…" Hugo muttered, his resolve starting to crumble. "No… I can't. I need to be responsible."
"Responsible?" the devil scoffed. "Was it responsible to use Muscle Unlock Pills and eat half your fridge in one night? Was it responsible to spend 300 points on mouth items? Just spin the wheel, Hugo. You know you want to."
The debate raged in his head for what felt like an eternity. Finally, Hugo groaned, throwing his hands into the air.
"Fine! You win, inner devil! I'll spin one more time! Just one!"
With a dramatic flourish, he prepared to hit the SPIN button, the wheel lighting up once more. Hugo couldn't help but grin.
"Here we go, baby," he whispered, his eyes locked on the spinning colours. "Lady Luck, don't fail me now!"
