Surprise! I've Transmigrated Again

Chapter 96: Chapter 096 ⤞ Teaching Other World Sword Techniques

As a Royal Candidate, any harm to Emilia would significantly impact the Royal Selection — though none present cared about her status.

"Subaru-kun, let me heal you." Emilia said as she tended to his injuries.

Puck's earlier attack had left Natsuki's face bruised and swollen, a pitiful sight.

"Thank you, Emilia-tan!" The pain in his face vanished instantly under her healing touch.

While Betty played with Puck nearby, Natsuki asked during his treatment, "By the way, Emilia, where did Roswaal go?"

"Roswaal? He said he was going to repair the barrier, so he went to the village early this morning."

"Oh, is that so." Natsuki wasn't truly interested in Roswaal's whereabouts — he simply wanted to chat with the goddess of his heart, "The village..."

The village brought up an important consideration: whether to proceed with Adam's trial.

The recent attack had shaken Emilia deeply — how could she complete the trial when she couldn't even protect herself?

"Don't be discouraged, Emilia! You saved the village and rescued that little girl, didn't you?" Natsuki attempted to lift her spirits.

But before Emilia could respond, an irritating, peculiar voice spoke from behind.

"Regarding~ that topic, there is some~ thing very important I must tell you."

It was Roswaal, returned from the village.

"Roswaal, what's this very important matter?"

Roswaal's tone turned serious, "The village barrier was deliberately destroyed, and the little girl you saved is not from the village!"

"..." After a thoughtful pause, Natsuki replied, "So you're suggesting that little girl is connected to this attack — or perhaps she's the one behind it..."

In retrospect, the incident raised several red flags. A careful investigation would have revealed major inconsistencies about the girl.

Why had she ventured deeper into the forest through the broken barrier? How had she remained unharmed by Witchbeasts while unconscious in the clearing?

And most tellingly, she wasn't even from the village!

The urgency of the situation had left no time for careful consideration, which explained why they were so easily deceived.

Though the lesson had been valuable, they were fortunate that no lives were lost.

"Ah, Roswaal, may I learn swordsmanship from Carter?" As a servant, Natsuki needed his master's permission for such training.

He had already resolved to learn regardless, though his absence from household duties would significantly increase Ram and Rem's workload.

"Hmm~ I don't mind~ at all." Roswaal made a show of contemplation before continuing, "A butler must be skilled in combat to protect their master properly. However~ Subaru can't even protect Lady Emilia, which makes him quite unqualified as a butler."

Roswaal said to Adam.

"Carter, I leave my incompetent~ servant in your care."

"Mm." Adam nodded.

Early the next morning, Adam forcefully dragged Natsuki from his warm bed.

After some simple warm-up exercises, he began training the young man.

"Subaru-kun, though I know many sword techniques, this one suits you best." With that, Adam demonstrated Thunder Breathing, "While it may be just one technique, it's the strongest among all my sword skills — perfect for both attacking and escaping."

Despite being a shut-in, Natsuki had always maintained his fitness. His impressive grip strength of 70kg was testament to that!

With the Royal Selection and Sanctuary events approaching, there wasn't time to learn complex sword techniques.

〚Thunderclap and Flash〛, with its straightforward nature and excellence in both attack and escape, was ideal for him.

"Is that the technique you used to kill the giant Witchbeast that day?" Natsuki's eyes lit up, recalling how effortlessly Adam had slain the giant Wolgarm.

He yearned to achieve such strength!

If he had been as powerful as Adam that day, he could have protected Rem and Emilia!

His mind raced with possibilities, but doubt soon crept in. Could he ever reach such a level?

Natsuki voiced these concerns.

"Don't worry, you definitely can!" Adam encouraged him.

But that's all it was — encouragement.

Reaching his level would likely remain beyond Natsuki's grasp in this lifetime.

"Now, I'll teach you the Thunder Breathing technique that accompanies the sword skill! Remember, breathing is crucial — only proper breathing can unleash your body's full potential..."

Adam taught Thunder Breathing with clarity, distilling his knowledge into simple, digestible lessons that Natsuki could grasp.

The young man studied earnestly, driven by his determination to gain power — power to protect Emilia!

"Ugh!"

When Natsuki's thoughts wandered and his breathing grew irregular, Adam swiftly corrected him with a strike to the chest from the wooden sword, saying "mind your breathing".

"Yes!" Natsuki immediately corrected his breathing.

But mastering Thunder Breathing required more than breathing techniques alone — it had to be combined with sword techniques. True mastery could only come through practicing both in alternation.

After an hour of breathing practice, Adam began teaching him the〚Thunderclap and Flash〛form.

"Natsuki-kun, Thunderclap and Flash appears simple but holds hidden complexity. I cannot guarantee you'll master it, though I'll teach you everything I can."

Adam worried this youth might follow the path of Kaigaku, Zenitsu's senior disciple who had failed to learn Thunder Breathing First Form.

"Oh, bring it on!" Natsuki's enthusiasm blazed in his response.

"Hmm, such spirit." Adam nodded approvingly.

Then the real training began.

Adam started with the fundamentals — teaching proper stance. He knew that with a strong foundation, the rest would naturally follow.

His approach proved effective, as Natsuki took well to the methodical instruction. After mastering the basics, he could practice and refine his sword techniques independently.

The path forward would now depend on his dedication.

"Hmm?" Adam detected a presence watching them.

He turned to find Beatrice observing from the corridor.

What an unusual sight!

The little spirit, who typically remained confined to her Forbidden Library, had ventured out on her own.

Adam recognized the yearning in her eyes — she wanted to learn about his world.

Perfect timing.

Now that Natsuki could practice independently, he could spare time for the lonely Great Spirit.

With a wave to Beatrice, Adam bid farewell to Natsuki and made his way to the Forbidden Library.
