Chapter 10: 10. Training
Half a year after Jin's meeting with murakan Jin and Jarden both turned eight. Jarden spent his days reading runcandel history and sword techniques available in storm castle. His maid utahime told stories about his ancestors and bravery. Though they did not interest him much but they were good to spend time so he would listen.
Jarden's meeting with Jin became shorter and shorter until they did not talk for months due to jin's underground meeting with Murakan. Utahime noticed but she knew the tradition in family of Runcandel so did not make a big deal out of it.
Even though Jarden liked Jin in the books He knew the harsh truth of the world. Jin being reborn in past was careful of every one and paid more focus on power and ambition and spent more time on the under ground library. thus they grew distant.
Soon the days of departure of Tona twins came.
Jarden decided to give twins a farewell.
"Young Master, you must go bid farewell to your brothers now."
"Alright, Utahime. Let's go."
The two of them descended to the Storm Castle's courtyard.
Under the constant downpour, the knights who had come to escort the Tona twins to the main house were standing in silence.
One 7-star guardian knight, and five 6-star guardian knights. They were all part of the Runcandel's main house.
The twins were at the center, wearing relieved smiles as they would finally be distanced from their devilish brother.
"Elder brothers."
"Ah, yeah, Jarden."
"H-Hey."
As Jaeden spoke to them with a large grin, his brothers tensed up.
"Why are you so surprised? I'm just here to see you off."
"Thanks…"
"Thanks… Jarden!"
"I guess I won't be seeing you for another two years. That's too bad, isn't it?"
"yes yes.." Tona twins replied.
"Be safe out there in main house. And don't cause unnecessary trouble and don't follow your Nannys every command you are not a pet."
"You are a runcandel know it in your heart. Good bye for now."Jarden said.
Tona twins said "Thanks you"
Jarden left after saying good bye. On his way he met Jin and Gilly after saying hello he went to his room with Utahime to Study the history of the world.
Six months of stillness had changed him. No scrolls. No summoning. No dragon tutors. While Jin chased forgotten magic with Mukaran, Jarden let discipline carve his foundation like stone smoothed by tide. His mornings began before light touched the walls.
Utahame offered encouragement. Breathing techniques to bind energy beneath the skin. Meditations to silence thought. Postures that unlocked dormant channels within his bones. His body was developing to carry the weight of a Monarch.
Knight Khan POV
He had guarded Storm Castle for nineteen years.
He'd seen heirs born, blades blessed, punishments dealt without mercy. He'd escorted Cyron to the gates of the Black Sea and stood silent as flag-bearers roared behind him.
But this—
This was different.
Jarden Runcandel had just turned eight. Still short, still slender, still with that peculiar light in his eyes.
And now, without flinching:
"Sir Khan. Train me."
Khan blinked.
The words weren't desperate. They weren't emotional.
"Train you?" he replied quietly.
Jin nodded. "In swordsmanship. The basics."
Khan studied him. No tremble. No excitement. Just intent.
"You've had instructors."
"Not the kind I need."
That settled it.
He had heard Cyron speak once of Jarden with quiet curiosity. Never with praise. Never with favor. But curiosity... curiosity meant danger.
"Why now?" Khan asked.
Jarden didn't hesitate.
"Because soon, the castle won't hold me. By the time i enter the main house my brothers and sisters will be ready to welcome me with a blade."
Khan; "You're stepping into the yard alone. That's noble. But tell me, Jarden—are you afraid of your siblings?"
Jarden: (with a short laugh) "If I was afraid of my siblings, I'd be training with a helmet and apology letters."
He cracks a half-smile, arms folded.
Jarden: "They're older. Stronger. Louder. But fear? No. They're the test. I'm the answer still writing itself."
Khan tilts his head slightly, amused.
Khan: "You speak like someone who's already won."
Jarden; "No—I speak like someone who refuses to lose."
Khan "You cannot learn swordsman ship till turning ten What do you wanna learn."
Jarden "How about how to throw some punch."
Khan "Tomorrow morning 5 AM in the hall."
"Yes sir" jarden said and went to his room.
"Utahime get my training clothes ready and food after my training tomorrow morning"Jin said.
"That will be done master Jarden." Utahime replied.
"Any news about family" Jarden Inquired.
"Patriarch is still in Black sea Madam Rosa is handling the affairs spy's have been reporting every thing happening in the castle to her. I killed some but no one here can be trusted. Your brothers have reached family and their training has started. That much is relevant info for now." Utahime replied.
"This game of thrones is getting interesting every day. No one except Luna can be Trusted. Every one is on their toes for future Patriarch. Be alert I would be sad to loose a talented maid." Jarden said.
"Yes young Master You should go to sleep Tomorrow is a long day."
With That Jarden went off to sleep and the excitement for the future had him enthusiast to training.
