As I thought that, it tried to bite me but I jumped back and avoided it...barely. That was scary! I almost died there.

Hey, Great sage any ideas to counter this situation.

Okay, what about some defensive mechanisms? I might have those right? A skill? magic? ability? Anything that can help me get out of here is fine.

Suddenly the chimera charged at me with high speed, reaching more than hundred kilometres per hour. Due to my 'Hasten thoughts' —an ability of Great sage— I was able to avoid it but I still got hurt at my right side.

"Notice. Ten percent physical damage taken from the attack. Using Instric skill 'Instant-regeneration' to heal it."

What?! It was able to inflict such damage, even though I avoided the main attack? I can't let it hit me...even once. Only a single full power strike from it is enough to kill me.

"Notice. Incoming attack!"

I looked back at a fast speed, it's trying to punch me. Due to 'Hasten thoughts' my mind can perceive and analyse the attack but my body wasn't fast enough to dodge it. I got hit.

"Kugh!" I let out in shock. I was thrown far away and I got slammed at a nearby tree, completely destroying it alongside more than twenty other trees.

"Notice. Incoming attack!"

Not again!

"Kugh!" I was hit with yet another punch and got pushed back fifty meters and slammed at a nearby boulder, completely destroying it.

"Urgh!!" I gotta think something...fast!

I thought while still looking at the rampaging beast running towards me in a fast speed.

Yes!! I got an idea. It's risky but I don't have any other choice.

Thinking that I opened my wings and waited for that beast to get close to me. It was just twenty meters away... A little more... Now!!

I flapped my wings with all my power and soar to the skies at a fast speed, I was way above clouds. When I looked down, I was satisfied with what I saw. It wasn't able to stop itself in time and crashed into a huge rock.

"AHHHH! I AM FALLING!!" I screamed while falling down.

Why can't I fly normally?! Ahhh!! Great sage, do something.

"Answer. Do you need assistance in controlling the wings? Yes/No?"

My wings flapped one more time but this time I didn't get thrown at the skies above clouds but rather I started to fly normally.

Hey, Great sage can you try to avoid it's attacks for a while using flight. I will think something in that time.

After that command, my eyes turned red with a six cornered symbol inside the pupil. It indicates that the Great sage took control of my body.

After taking control of the body, Great sage started to fly at a fast speed and started to avoid Chimera's attacks.

Now that I don't have to think about it's attacks for a while, let's try to come up with something to defeat it.

While thinking that, I started to look around. When suddenly, the chimera attacked me once more with a mysterious breathe while still hovering in sky.

Great sage avoided the attack but it still touched a little bit on my hand and face, which affected by corroding my hands and face. It got healed within a few moments.

"GRAAAWRR!"

Seeing it's attack being neutralised, it gave a huge roar and charged at me in a speed far surpassing it's previous ones, reaching around four hundred kilometres per hour. But before it could even get close to me, I was already at a different place.

Seeing it's attacks being futile, the Chimera gathered all it's energy at one point and fired a huge 'Fire-vortex' at me. Seeing the incoming attack, Great sage tried to avoid it but wasn't fast enough and got hit.

"BOOM!"

After the blast, there was a huge wall of smoke. Once the smoke disappeared, I was standing there completely fine but all my clothes were burned and I was butt-naked.

Due to my fast regeneration ability and strong physical body as well as 'Thermal-fluctuation resistance', I was unharmed.

Once again, the Chimera tried to tackle me but Great sage avoided it with a close margin.

Now we both started to fly at a very fast speed, surpassing our previous speeds and moving at five hundred kilometres per hour.

The Chimera tried to tackle me several times but Great sage avoided every-time skillfully.

It tried to fire few more elemental attacks but they were either avoided or neutralised. It fired another 'Poisonous mist' but once again, it was neutralised.

Now, it was a fight of stamina and will power. The one who can outclass the other wins. After flying for more than fifty minutes, the chimera started to gather it's magicules at its palm and fired several red coloured snake like demons at me.

Great sage avoided all of them but one still caught on to my hands and started to corrode it. Seeing this, Great sage used 'Predator' on the surface of skin and devoured the attack.

"Notice. Analysing the attack...successful.

Obtaining resistance to Corrosion...successful."

Hmm? Great sage? No, it's different. It must be that, VOTW thingy. So, I got a corrosion resistance huh? Hmm? Is that a...spear? There are several of them... I got it!

Great sage, take me to where those humans(dead) are. Try to get as close to them as possible. I want to take their weapons.

At my command, Great sage flew at a high speed and reached to where those humans were. After reaching the place I took all the weapons from the humans(dead) and stored it.

But as I was storing it, I noticed something strange. The weapons were damaging me. As I received some damage, I started to look at the weapons and noticed something strange on it.

Great sage, that gooey thing...isn't that its skill 'Poisoning mist'?

Good! Analyse it, it might come in handy.

I thought while avoiding another fire attack fired by it. We were flying high above skies one moment than hovering right above land the other moment.

We both were using our full speed to attack it and avoid its attacks. Soon the Chimera showed a small glimpse of tiredness and both Great sage and I noticed it.

"NOW!" I yelled, not wanting to lose this chance.

"Notice. Executing the command."

They started to soar far above the clouds and came down at the full speed crashing down at the chimera.

Just before crashing with it, they changed the direction a bit and soar the skies once more but not before hitting it with spears, right at its head and torso with two spears.

"GRAAAAOAR!!" It screeched in pain while it's head was bleeding heavily alongside its torso. In it's rage, it started to fire several fire attack randomly at random places.

Yes! That was a success. Great sage, once more. But this time from below.

"Answer. Command accepted.

Executing the command."

As they said it, they started to soar above the clouds once again and did a 180° rotation before coming crashing down like a rocket but right before hitting the ground, they did one more rotation and passed the Chimera from below but not before stabbing it right at the abdomen and lower back.

"KIIEEEEAAKK!" It screeched once more, louder than before and started to aimlessly fly at a high speed and came crashing down with a loud-

"THUD!" A huge gust of wind was blown and a pillar of dust rose hiding everything where it crashed. After the dust cleared, there was a huge crater twenty meters wide and nine meters deep.

In the centre of the crater was a plummeted Chimera that was healing due to its 'Self-regeneration'.

"*Sigh* That was one heck of a fight. We were just avoiding and running away from its attacks and we are still so tired... Now, we just have to finish it and everything will be fine."

I got close to the fallen Chimera and started to descend to the ground. After reaching the outer layer of the crater, I looked down at the beast, still barely alive.

Seeing that, I pulled out another spear and threw it at its head and another at its chest.

"KREEAAA....KEEAAKK!" It screeched twice before getting silent...for eternity.

Hey Great sage, didn't you say that with Predator, I can take anyone's skill by eating them.

"Answer. Positive."

Good. Than, do I have to eat it at the literal sense or there is some other way?

"Answer. To use Predator, you have to eat it through physical means and analyse it to get the required information for acquisition of skills."

Predation: Absorbs the target into the body. If the target is conscious however, the success rate greatly decreases. The affected targets include but aren't limited to: organic matter, inorganic matter, skills, and magic. As a part of Gluttony, Predation can now be used from a far greater range.

Stomach: A metaphysical space where all absorbed targets are stored. Items produced via Analysis can also be stored. Anything that is stored in the Stomach is not affected by time. As part of Gluttony, Stomach's capacity is doubled.

Isolation: Harmful materials or unnecessary things for analysis can also be stored. They will be used to replace magic energy.
