Chapter 88: Nature's Home
"Oh my, Sister Nature, you've really come to be loved by your people." The Water Goddess giggled, walking up to a miniature mountain of children. "It's truly a wonderful sight." She continued.
"Huh? Aunty?" A child asked, grabbing hold of the water goddess' dress as they looked up with curiosity.
"That's right. You can call me Aunty or Lady Water… You know what? Perhaps I should just use a better name for everyone. Hmm, Water… Undine. Yes, Undine." She said, crouching down to meet the child at eye level. "You'll grow up to be a strong man. I just know it." She smiled. So this is how she feels. I love it. It feels so good. But, I wonder if she too wants one of her own. I'll ask her later.
"Yay! Aunty Undine!!!!" A few more children shouted, creating a second mountain full of giggles.
After a few minutes, the children had got the abundance of energy out of their systems. It was time for work. With a few of the village planners working together it didn't take too long before a temporary shelter had been created for everyone Night Silver had brought with her.
After was a large Village feast, welcoming the new villagers. Though, with the current population… It would be more accurate to call this place a town instead. However, this was a special place so it would never be described with such mundane words nor titles.
"Mommy, this place is really nice. And the food is yummy! And, and!! There's no meanies walking around." A child from the Theocracy said, plopping herself in Night Silver's lap.
"Pfft, don't worry, this place is under my protection. No bad guys can harm you here. They'd have to get through me, my sister and my mate first. So long as you are good to others they'll be good to you too." Night Silver giggled, and consoled the girl with a motherly head pat.
"I did like the bathhouse there though…" The girl pouted and then, tilting her back to look up into Night Silver's beautifully perfect face, the girl blushed slightly with joy… I finally get to be with mommy whenever I want! I love her… "Is there a bathhouse here too, and can we take a bath together again?" She asked, all innocently.
"Pfft, you're adorable. Of course there's a bath house here. And it's the same type as back in the mean place. Except for two things. One it's far larger, and two there is a mixed bath for adults as well. After all, if they can walk around bearing so much already, there's no point in hiding it in the place where one is meant to be bare." Night Silver explained, continuing to pat the girl's head with her motherly touch.
"Yay! A big bath with mommy!" The girl exclaimed. Spinning around to hug Night Silver.
"Pfft, don't forget about the story I promised." Night Silver giggled.
After the feast, the clean up began. The villagers enjoyed a nice hot bath, to feel refreshed. From there the adults were preparing for what would inevitably be a fun night for them. The Children on the other hand, couldn't contain their excitement.
"Story time! Yay!" A boy cheered.
"Mommy's stories are the best!" A girl said with a similar cheer.
"Hmm, is that so? Well then, wait are waiting for. It's time now isn't it?" Night Silver said, in her motherly tone.
"Sister, has it always been like this for you?" Undine, formerly known as the goddess of water, asked with a similar degree of bundles hanging off of her.
"Only around this time. Don't worry, you'll get used to it." Night Silver replied, with a smile.
"Have you ever felt like having one of your own?" Undine asked, accidentally letting it slip. Oh no, I didn't mean to blurt that out right here.
"Even I can recognize that feeling. Yes, I want one…" Night Silver laughed, gently placing a hand on her belly. "My mate is currently working hard to make it possible. In the meantime though, I'm going to give these adorable little ones my attention." She added, sending a shiver down Brightness' spine.
"Hmm, I see. Here I was worried you would have a hard time coming to terms with that. You know, considering your change…" Undine said, as the pair continued to walk, finally reaching a stopping point. Hmm, this is a teleportation circle.
"Well, it was a little difficult to understand. But it's not like it was too hard. After all, anyone who really wants a child will really work hard for it. It doesn't matter what their physical circumstances are." Night Silver smiled. "That, and I've been a guardian mother for long enough now that any such feelings have drifted away. Not that I had many to begin with." She added, activating the teleport circle.
Where they appeared was a magnificently large open space. It was lush with its own ecosystem. There was a place to look outside of the home on either side of the mountain. And at the center of it all was a bed made from natural materials, it looked a little worse for wear due to the materials used. However, it was the best bed in the world.
There were fruit bearing trees, berry bushes and even a vegetable garden. Some small animals lived in this little ecosystem, drinking from the stream, and just living their lives. Though, they all actively avoided a few spots. There were two large locations on either side where they would stay clear from, and then the center of the large open cavern. Those were places not meant for them to tread.
"Woah! This is amazing Sister Nature. It's like its own little world here." Undine exclaimed with widened eyes. Taking in the sight as she looked around.
"Thanks, I designed it to help the children learn about magic, and so they have space to play. If you look over there," Night Silver said, pointing to a mossy area. "Behind that veil of moss is a hot-spring. I have a similar one on the opposite side as well. And then there are the waterfalls where we can take a cold bath if you want." She continued, pointing out the crashing waterfalls.
"It's so peaceful in this place. The sound of the crashing waterfall, and flowing creek is so relaxing. But where does the water go? Oh…" Undine said noticing the reinforced holes where the flow is controlled.
