The Adaptive Quincy of Bleach

Chapter 36: Uryu Ishida training (36)

Uryu Ishida, the man whose only date is with the calendar [allegedly], and whom Sora has deemed the weakest Quincy.

Well, to be honest, to them, only three Quincy were alive. First, there was Sora... Even if Sora were forced not to use his adaptation, he would still win. Even if he were unable to move, he would still win. At the end of the day, the sheer difference in Reiatsu ensured that Uryu's attacks felt extremely weak to Sora.

Sora's attack, on the other hand, felt like being hit full force by three bullet trains slamming into your body at the same time while having hyper-regeneration—but without the pain tolerance to match. Your body would take the full force and burst, yet while bursting, it would heal faster than it could break apart, containing all that force within.

Uryu knew he was way weaker than Sora—that was a fact. And according to Sora, Ryuken was even stronger than Uryu. He had never seen his father at work, but from the few times the man had trained with Sora, Sora had described him as someone who had mastered every single Quincy skill. Uryu didn't know if his cousin/brother was glazing his dad, but if he took Sora's words as fact, then his dad could probably whoop his ass.

So, Uryu worked. He trained and trained.

As he kept pushing himself to the limit, something could be seen happening.

Baddump.

Some Blut veins appeared on Uryu's face as he shot off arrows. Using Hirenkyaku, he appeared in front of the arrows and dodged them himself. This was draining him.

This little trick that Sora had taught him would be useful—another one of Sora's original creations.

He remembered when Sora had come up with it. Sora was 13, and Uryu was 12.

Flashback.

"Uryu, come here! I have something to show you," the excited teenage boy was heard saying—pre-teen, to be exact.

"What kind of trickery do you have planned for me this time?" Uryu asked with a cold gaze.

"Hey, you act as if every time I call you, I have a trick up my sleeve," Sora said innocently.

"You gifted me a pair of clothes embedded with Reishi... When I got to class, I realized I was wearing a maid outfit. Do you know how embarrassing that was?" Uryu said, annoyed, while Sora tried his hardest to hold back his laughter.

The prank had only worked because Uryu was spiritually aware. While Uryu saw a normal pair of clothing, that was just how Sora had manipulated the Reishi to look. In reality, it was a maid outfit. Anyone who wasn't spiritually aware would have seen it for what it was.

That was a good prank.

"That was one time," Sora said as if it was insignificant.

"About that one time—you spoke to me all the way from home using only your spiritual pressure, and everyone at school thought I was going crazy because it looked like I was talking to myself."

"I mean, who talks to themselves?" Sora said, looking at him.

"I WAS TALKING TO YOU!" Uryu practically shouted.

"So, do you want to learn the technique or nah?"

Uryu gritted his teeth before calming himself down. Sora was the eldest, yet he was the most immature.

"Spill it..."

"No way, you were so mean," Sora said, pouting a bit and looking away. He was 13.

"Please show it to me," Uryu said, trying to stop his blood pressure from rising.

"That's better," Sora said with a smile.

"So, I developed this super-duper technique. You know how I usually make a clone of myself out of Reishi to show you how my Reiryoku flows through my body?" the boy explained.

"Yes," Uryu replied calmly.

"I realized that I won't be around every day to train with you, and since your chances of making friends are somehow lower than seeing Dad smile, I made this technique."

...Why was he catching strays? He did nothing wrong, and yet here he was, catching strays.

Sora had started calling Ryuken "Dad" about a year ago, since the man had practically adopted him. Ryuken had never tried to stop him, and Uryu doubted he ever would—the man was probably pretty happy about that development.

Suddenly, the ambient Reishi in the air began forming into the shape of Sora, and soon enough, a transparent clone of him appeared.

"I call it Seelenbild—basically German for Soul Image."

"It's just a Reishi construction. What can it even do?" Uryu said, unimpressed.

Sora looked at the clone, which formed a Reishi bow and arrow and started firing. Granted, the power was weak, but the damage done was still real.

"It's not just a clone. It's like coding. You have your own Reiryoku in there, so you can move it, and it can be given simple commands. However, its best use is for training. Sure, you may use half your Reiryoku, but as long as the Seelenbild has Reishi, it can keep listening to your orders," Sora said with a smile.

"Am I not just the best cousin/brother ever?" Sora said, grinning.

Uryu said nothing. Sora handed him a scroll.

"Here. Have fun." After saying those words, Sora left.

When Uryu opened the scroll, he found an in-depth explanation of the technique.

Technique Name: Seelenbild (Soul Image)

Creator: The best, coolest cousin alive, Sora Ishida.

Mechanics:

Reishi Manipulation: The Quincy gathers Reishi from the surrounding environment and condenses it into a humanoid form resembling themselves. This form is a translucent construct of pure Reishi, shimmering with a faint blue glow.

Creation Process:

The Quincy uses their spiritual energy to mold and stabilize the Reishi. They imprint basic commands onto the clone, such as:"Face this direction and fire arrows.""Maintain position and guard this area."The construct cannot move from its designated position once formed.

Activation:

The Quincy channels Reishi through their Sanrei Glove or Spirit Weapon, linking the clone to their own spiritual energy. This connection allows the Quincy to maintain control and provide additional commands.

Limitations:

The clone cannot act independently; it only executes commands programmed during creation. It cannot physically engage in melee combat or defend itself, making it fragile under direct attack.Once the Reishi composing the clone is disrupted, it dissipates.

Functionality:

The clone has a limited lifespan, determined by the amount of Reishi available and the Quincy's focus. Its primary purpose is utility or diversion, such as:Firing arrows at a steady rate in a specific direction.Acting as a distraction to mislead opponents.Serving as a temporary sentry for an area.

Visual and Tactical Notes:

The clone appears ghostly and less defined than the Quincy themselves, emphasizing its nature as a construct rather than a living being.Arrows fired by the clone are slightly weaker than those fired by the actual Quincy due to the lack of direct spiritual pressure behind them.Because the clone lacks mobility, it is best used in situations where the Quincy has a strong, defensible position or when they need to provide ranged support while focusing on other tasks.Flashback End.

Uryu had created three Seelenbild. He was now avoiding the clones' strikes, using Hirenkyaku to move around, utilizing Blut Vene anytime he would get hit and Blut Arterie whenever he launched an attack.

He had chosen this forest because it was dense with Reishi, allowing the clones to last much longer. He could damage them more and make greater progress.

This time, he would make progress.

He would not be a bother.
